Usual Suspects Dominate XBL Activity Charts

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

The Xbox Live activity charts for the week of August 27th have been announced, reaffirming the big names’ dominance in the top spots, and confirming the startling performance of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition.

It used to be that the Live activity charts were occupied by boxed, disc-based titles, but even weeks after release, Minecraft is second only to the behemoth that is Modern Warfare 3. In fact the Call of Duty series litters the top twenty, will entries at number one, three and seven. Love ‘em or loathe them, there’s no doubting their popularity.

Elsewhere, Counter-Strike: GO and Rock Band Blitz sit comfortably under Minecraft in the XBLA charts, while the affectionate XBLIG clone CastleMiner Z sits atop the Indie Game table.

	Sleeping dogs, Darksiders 2 and Transformers are nowhere to he seen. Strange I thought at least one of them would get into the chart. I understand they are new so don't have as many units out there but still, i hope that isn't a sign of poor sales as all 3 of those games are great!

	glad to see dark souls rocking the top of the windows chart. i have it on ps3 and cant wait for the dlc next mo nth :). no doubt in 2 month there will be 3 code in the top 4 lol

	@7. Very odd. On the iPhone it's coming up as KillerBEA107 ( no clue who that is ), but on my iPad it's displaying the correct one, UberPirateNinja. I've got my correct gamertag displaying in the top right on both devices, but this random one showing up on the phone browser, but only for the news feed, it's showing the correct one in the forum postings for me. Dafuq?

	Halo reach infront of BF3? That should say alot seeing as Reach mp wise is the worst halo to date. Nice to see Dungeon Defenders still being purchased, best xbla title ever.

	@16 yes Dark Souls should dominated the GFWL but really the other games don't stand a chance in that category. I personally know 2 ps3 users that got the prepare to die pc edition because they couldn't wait for the dlc to come out for consoles

	As much as I love / hate the CoD series, I don't think it'l have a legitimate competitor any time soon for that #1 spot. As much promotion Halo 4 has had, I don't think it'l top charts for a lengthy amount of time such as CoD.

	Mw3 can have number one. But itll only have it for this week end next week and next weekend. Come the 18th 1st is gunna be boarder lands. And the reason darksiders isnt up there is cause once u beat it the replay effect isnt there im on my second time through and its takin longer the 1st time

	Minecraft dominating the XBLA again. A truly awesome game. Its certainly my most played game over the last 3 months and I can see why its so high up. Not a CoD fan, but not surprised its dominating the retail side of the charts.

	Odd that it doesn't quite match up with what is on X-Box America.com, except for MW3 of course. And I agree with some of the others surprise that Darksiders II hasn't made it on the list.
