Bought Gears 3 Season Pass and ate a huge turd when it became discounted even before all DLCs were released. Then I bought Saints Row 3 Season Pass and ate an even larger turd when I realized that it would have cost me only 100 MSP more in installments, and then they became discounted several times as well. Screw that crap, every game since then that has a Season Pass, gets passed that season and bought as a GOTY/Ultimate Edition at a fraction of the cost. |

I have no idea what everyone's problem is. I bought every bit of Borderlands 1 DLC and loved it, so now I can buy the Borderlands 2 season pass for 2400msp (get 4 DLCs for the price of 3!) and save myself money... why would anyone possibly be against it? If you know you're gonna buy it, you're just saving yourself 800msp. Yeah, stop it Gearbox. Stop trying to save me money, damn it! :D |

@11 then you're completely insane. Season passes are an excuse for sub-standard dlc, once they have enough bought they can churn out any old shit. It still annoys me how we are talking about 4 packs of dlc before the game comes out. It seems more important having long term revenue stream then a complete product nowadays. Thats my thoughts. |

Why are people complaining about the SP's, when each one mentioned are by different companies?! Just because one (Max Payne) mucked you around, it does not mean Gearbox/2K will... Only SP I've brought was LA Noires and there was no issues there. Oh shock it was by R* to... I'll be getting this once it's released, because I'd personally like to save myself some money! |

| People are complaining because 800x4 = 3200 points, yet season pass is 2400. So basically you get one of the DLC's for free. But if you wait minimal time, and by minimal it will probably be before the second 2 DLC's even come out. You will be able to pick up the first 2 at 50% off. Meaning you just saved your 800 points right there. And if you wait even longer you'll get the other 2 DLC's for 400 as well. Meaning 400x4 = 1600 even cheaper than the season pass. So basically if you buy the season pass you're an idiot. |

@23 I'm not complaining as much about the SP side as the MP side of the Season pass to be fair Callum, since you're limited by the time the servers stay populated to actually play it, wheras with the SP passes you can download them and revisit them at your leisure. I’d be more inclined to buy one if: The game was released before they announced the DLC and pass When it was announced, it also detailed a breakdown of each of the 4 DLCs you get for the money, with screenshots and an idea of the length You get a set schedule for the releases (IE, pack one on this date, pack 2 on this date etc) That would avoid the ‘Gears’ situation, where I played it to death and bought the season pass, but by the time the first DLC came out I had already backburnered it. I’m imagining that by the time I actually go back to it now the online will be much less busy than it was, and everyone will be gods at it as they have played it for a year, making it even harder to progress through. |

I do see how "pre-selling" the DLC in a cheaper package would annoy people though.. they buy it and then feel disappointed in the DLC delivered for that price. I have faith in 2K's ability to deliver excellent DLC worthy of continued joy-puking our faces off =) |

I definatly dont want any uninspired add ons for full price.Besises this summer was really dry and im sure the hundred plus hrs I'll get out of 2 will be money well spent. Not much of a deal, but still a deal I guess. Would rather spend $20 then $40 buying them for 1/2 price individually, but it will be at least a year for them all to hit deal of the week. Just wish for $30 you got some extra weapons, or skins, or something cool to make it more of a value. Also, as to it being a hundred bucks? Yeah, it sucks, but I don't really want to wait an entire year to play the game. By that time, my friends will all have moved on and I'll have to find randoms to play through it with. |

@28: Fair point, but how many people nowadays wait for DLC to drop. Honestly, these DLC will not get a price drop in the first 6months of there release. Jeez, I swear the GTAIV DLC's just got their 50% DOTW! Games like this have a great following and loads of playability. So when DLC is announced/released, people get hyped, we wait, get more hyped and then once it's out we buy it that week. Probably 90%+ of people do this with most games. Some people have the will power to wait it out, but the DOTWs could be a very long wait in most cases. Yes in the long run, if you hold out and wait you'll save yourself money. But DLCs take a long time, especially for games of this standard to get knocked down in price. So, you get the SP, save yourself one lot of DLC costs, and you enjoy the game there and then, while joining friends. In my eyes, it's better because you then get to play it, enjoy it, and can join friends on the spot instead of lurking in the dark being, twiddling your thumbs waiting for the day you see it on DOTW! Then by the time it does, people have already played it, completed it and you yourself may not be hyped for it anymore. |

This season pass bollocks is starting to grind my gears. Oh great the DLC is 'discounted' (yes Max Payne 3 you fucker I'm looking at you) but it just means that we're going to have to accept whatever shit they put out (Saints Row The Turd you know what I'm talking about). Can't we just have a complete game? I don't mind waiting an extra month and paying an extra tenner, I just hate this expectancy to pay another £20 for a game that I may well be pissed off with after a month or two (sorry Max you again). |

Season passes are increasingly depressing for MP games as they are nothing more than a few maps and some skins. Borderlands being a co-op/SP game... these will be campaign style content, and so long as they are to the same quality as the first game's (minus Moxie of course), this will easily be worth the price. |

| @41 - You know how this is about Borderlands 2? This game wouldn't even exist if it wasn't for people like me who bought Borderlands 1 new + DLCs. They have to turn a profit and sell big to even get a sequel, which isn't happening if everyone decides to wait until it's a GOTY edition/stupidly cheap. You might not want to laugh at those whole help keep this industry alive quite so much - if we were all like you, there'd be no more video games. |

Even thought the Gears season pass went on sale, everyone who bought it day one STILL got a deal, and got the dlc when it launched instead of waiting a couple months. So the bitching is just people crying they didn't wait on a deal of the week, which happens for nearly every damn game. If the game has dlc, there almost certainly WILL be a DotW at some point. So you consciously make the decision to buy it on release, or wait for a sale. The season pass is for those who KNOW they will buy the dlc when it launches, whether its because they're a fan or an achievement whore. I will (guaranteed) buy the dlc for borderlands 2, so not buying the pass would be stupid. If you want to wait 3 months to play the dlc when its on sale, then good for you! Don't buy the pass. |

I'll get it because Gearbox made such great dlc for Borderlands 1 (If you ignore the red-headed step child that was Moxxi's Underdome). I also felt like I got a good deal when I got season passes for LA Noire and Gears 3 (But Saints Row 3 really did burn me that all the dlcs were 15 minutes long). All in all, I can't wait for Borderlands 2 and its dlc! |

Also keep in mind that this is the static price of the season price. You will feel absolutely no obligation to buy it even if you were so inclined until they have released information about the first DLC (and probably the second). At that point, since it's not like the season pass is A) going up in price or B) selling out... consumers can make an informed decision. |

I'm not sure I understand the hate for DLC Season Passes. You get the items at discounted prices by buying in bulk, as opposed to buying individually. People do this all the time when they shop for soda, or any other item in a store. Costco almost exclusively sells in bulk, and is ranked 24th on the Fortune 500. What you need to look at is if you're going to be interested in the game long enough to care to buy the packs. I'm going to be purchasing the Season Pass for Borderlands 2. Based on my previous experience in Borderlands DLC and the game on the whole, Borderlands 2 should not disappoint. If I do find the DLC underwhelming, well at least I saved 800 points and hopefully liked at least 3 of them. That's the gamble, that's the price, but if you thoroughly enjoy a game it makes the decision a lot easier. |

@65: They're already done with this game; it went gold more than a week ago. They're now, presumably, working on the DLC. With a date for it all to be released by June 2013 - and the quality of most of the Borderlands DLC - that presumption seems pretty spot on to me. Would you like them to just continuously add to a game and never make a street date; never release a game because they keep adding shit? They have the game done, now the next phase of work begins. @74: I agree. However, relating back to my last post: If you enjoy a game, it makes the purchase easier. Of the Borderlands DLC, only Underdome was crap. Zombie Island, General Knoxx, and Robolution were all great DLC which I put many hours into. This previous experience gives me hope that Borderlands 2 will follow suit. Certainly no guarantee, but that's why it comes down to consumer choice. |

if you're contemplating getting this, then you're not a borderlands fan. all those who spent a good amount of time with the first game, and enjoyed it, are going to buy this game and its season pass day one |

@15: You're clearly a fool because they tend to put season passes on sale before all DLC is even out. Look at GoW3 pass, it was on sale during December BEFORE ALL the DLC was out. Or even the most recent example of BF3's Premium service being packaged with the game for $69.99 (or $59.99 on Amazon). They just screwed over anyone who bought it before all the DLC was out to begin with so you don't actually save any money at all. I have nothing wrong with season passes but they need to refrain from sales on any DLC while the season pass is still active. It's fair if the DLC went on sale several months AFTER all the DLC was out and not BEFORE. |

| Who wants to bet a good portion of that season past cost will be for the 4th character and day-one consumers will get fucked over. Same shit happened to the last few "season pass" games I got. Like Battlefield 3, where you basically paid twice for the Karkand content. Once when you bought the game at launch, and again when you got Premium. |

@79/80 Maniac2k5 is right. He/she doesn't have the "business sense of an 11 year old". Early adapters/buyers are how GotY editions come to be. And I'm tired of seeing the people who buy Day One for games and DLC being denigrated for it. I'm buying this game day one because of how they handled the news about one of their fans dying way before he should have from cancer at 22: incorporating his name and more into the game as a tribute. The only reason I might not do the SP day one is backlog of games and I need to finish up the first game's DLC. I only finished Moxxi weirdly enough and did that on my own. Got annihilated trying to do Zombie Island with some friends one time because they weren't at the same character level (they're both better at the game than me though -_-) It's thinking like that which may prevent my personal GotY pick, Dishonored, from succeeding. The principle is the same in that it's a new IP. I know there's no season pass for that game. Anyway, good for those of you who have the patience to wait (I could have spun that negatively easily) but it wouldn't be possible without D1 purchases. |

| Are people really still bitching about DLC before games are released? Seriously!? GAMES SHIP AS A FINISHED PRODUCT! You are not being cheated or treated unfairly because these "major gaming corporations" want to rape you of ever last cent you have. For one thing... ITS COMPLETELY OPTIONAL! Again... GAMES ARE SHIPPED AS A FINISHED AND FINAL PRODUCT... anything more is a BONUS. The second thing is... developers start planning DLC as soon as the game is finished. The games done the game needs to be mass produced packaged and shipped... what? Developers are just going to give each other high fives and sit around with their thumbs up thier asses? NO! The process starts all over with DLC. Just as the game was made they have to go from concepts to development to a finished product to release. This takes time. Usually around 3 to 4 months of development. The sooner this process starts the sooner you get your DLC. And yes they have to make their money. THEIR A BUSINESS. If they dont make money they cant make games! But do you appreciate what developers are trying to do for you by offering more playability to the games that you love? NO! You throw a fucking fit. Jesus Christ people GROW UP. Fuck... |

| P.S. - The reason everyone is bitching that Moxxis was "crap" is because you couldnt beat it. Sorry you actually got a challenging piece of DLC for once. BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH. Thats all gamers do anymore. Fucking play a game or dont but shut the fuck up about it. Its the fucking internet! Nobody gives a shit about your opinion! (Yes I realize that this is both ironic and hypocritical I just dont give a fuck... it needed to be said...) |

Day 1 buy for me, and to all the people saying "fuck season passes its a waste of money".. How about you actually learn to read and add shit up. You'll save $10 if you get the Season Pass right away. AAAAAND You are guaranteed those DLC the moment they come out.. instead of "oooh no I dont have any money for the DLC I ever so wanted" Think about it. |

| I just hope this batch of DLC can match the incredibly high quality standard the first game set. Whether it be the insanely boring brain collect-a-thon of Ned, the sheer mind numbing boredom and repetition of Moxxi, or the never-gets-old backtracking-the-same-goddamn-highway-because-we-elimiated-fast-travel in the Underdome, the bar is WAY up there. |

@97/98 What you said is right... right up until you find out that the DLC was in fact on the disc you already paid for (Capcom games, Saints Row 3, Mass Effect 2/3, etc.). Once you get screwed over by those tactics you become much less trusting the next time a developer announces a year's worth of DLC before the game even hits the shelf. They already expect us to wait in line to hand them $60 (or much more for limited editions), now they want us to casually throw another $30 (bring up to a total of $90+) for content we have no information on? Remember Battlefield Premium? They wanted $50 for DLC that was already released and 4 more upcoming DLCs (two of which have no info available other than a release date and a title). Whose to say that the DLC for this game won't be different? The first game was a wild success. I wouldn't be surprised if they phoned things in this time around because they know people will buy the stuff because of the name attached. Just look at Saints Row 3. If you would have told me that Saints Row 3 would throw out all of the old settings, plot lines, characters, themes and gameplay for a "wacky, over-the-top" snooze-fest that got really old, really quickly and nickle-and-dimed us to death on DLC while I was playing the masterpiece that was Saints Row 2 I would have called you crazy. At this point I already suspect that one of those 4 DLCs are the Mechromancer class that is already available for free to people who pre-order the game. I would also bet money that another one of those DLCs is the new Underdome that comes from pre-ordering through Gamestop. The point is, people that shell out money like that for a product(s) they have information on are stupid. I wouldn't buy a season pass for BL1 if I knew what the Underdome was about. I wouldn't have bought the SR3 season pass if I knew the Genkibowl was complete ass and not worth $2. I'm glad I didn't buy Battlefield Premium since I got bored of it after two months. Imagine how mad I would be if I bought it when the game first came out and then I stopped playing before the second DLC even came out. P.S. People didn't hate Moxie's Underdome because it was "too hard," people hated it because it was just a long, drawn out combat arena that got boring incredibly quickly and forced you to grind through for hours on end in order to beat it. |

@#102 - To add to your P.S. - It is also hated because the weapons you get from it are shit, there is no bonus for completing it (other than achievements) and there is no XP. The only upside to Underdome I can think of would be the weapon storage bank - a welcome addition, sure, but it did little to augment gameplay. |

Can't say I've purchased any season pass, ever. I never intended to start doing so. Content always came out cheaper with the deal of the week. I figure if all the pack eventually release and are discounted at half off, I'm saving money in the end. On the other hand, I loved Borderlands 1, and continue to play it, so this might be the one off where I think purchasing a season pass makes sense to get the content right at the start. |
