In this latest Splinter Cell: Blacklist video the game’s creative director Maxime Beland provides us with a narrated walkthrough of a mission from the upcoming title.

The vid shows off some of Sam’s new moves as well as what Ubisoft are calling “enhanced gameplay” within some all-new, never seen before gameplay footage.

There’s about 10 minutes of it in total, enough to get a good idea of what to expect from the game when it launches in Spring 2013. Get it below.

This isn't splinter cell.
The old ones where you actually had to think before you act actually had a challenge to them, now 9/10 people are going to play it like any other shooter.
I'll probably still pick it up at some point I just wish they'd put more focus on stealth.

For all those regret or wonder what happend to the stealthy Sam Fisher we all know and love? Well Ubisoft probly notice it wasn,t hitting the main market with Splinter Cell and lets face it the main core gamer rather likes running straight in and shoot everything that moves, basicly a regular shooter kinda. I know alot of gamers with who i talked and most didn,t like to wait for 5 minutes or more to see what path the guards taking and so u could take them out silently, basicly what old splinter cell was all about. Not get me wrong i loved those old splinter cell games and conviction wasn,t old school anymore either.I would like to see more of that back and less focus on those stylish and powerfull takedows, i rather go in stealthy and take my time, but heck they making it for the big crowd now and forget about the old fan base.

@12 Watch closely again, the interrogation scene in the beginning that wasn't shown and how he breached the room at the end. The E3 footage had him breaching and going through the door, this footage shows him going through the roof. The conversation between Sam and his target plays out differently, this time we learned he was once MI6. Then we see the UAV in action and Sam escaping the burning building which was not shown at E3.

and lol @ ppl still bitching about "not really splintercell"

go play the hd collect, have fun with playing without the ability to switch the camera axis and have fun spending an hour doing the boring ass training mission which requires walking over to a ladder, pressing x, holding up waiting 10 minutes for the robotic climbing motion to end

theres like 2 guys in any mission all walking around in areas that have obvious areas of no light source, yet they walk directly under a water pipe and stop for 5 seconds only in that area....then move forward to another unrealistic obviously scripted scenario that a monkey could figure out how to get past.

just cause you dont have the mental capacity to figure out what to do when the crap hits the fan type scenarios that todays games feature, doesnt make it bad, go play slow ass developing games from 10 years ago and have fun cause you know exactly whats going to happen and dont have to think or adapt quickly

@9 Double Agent was very well recieved in sales and reviews. They just tried to make a sequel, realised they couldn't accomplish what they started to make so panicked and created a terrible action game. This looks better than Conviction but it's still poor. Not enough pure stealth games on the market, it was a good niche, now this and Hitman are both ruining their roots to appeal to people who still won't buy it, ruining the game for the longer fans. Just like Gears of War... Sad trend.

I loved the old games and Conviction wasn't that bad either...but this is just too far from what the foundation of the mass Splinter Cell community knows and loves. Operating a UAV and 'killing-in-motion' complete ruins the core gameplay of this game. That said, this game strays too far from what SC truly is, but knowing me, I'll probably end up getting it as I have all the other titles, guess I will have to accept the fact that Ironside is gone and this is too action-orienented.

-I've tried my damnedest to give the new VA a chance and keep an open mind about it but I just can't get over it :/ It's just not the same without Ironside.

-Holy...oh my god I don't even have words for the Killing In Motion mechanic. That is so badass. I don't like the "Execution Ready" that keeps popping up on the screen though, that'll get annoying quick.

-Killing dogs, eh not very fond of that but I'm not all uber sensitive about it either so whatever.

-Not sure how I feel about the UAV. Frankly it didn't accomplish anything in this mission, it didn't present any kind of challenge so it may as well have been a cutscene.

Overall this is looking ridiculously good and a day 1 purchase. Can't wait to get info about co-op.

Everyone is going on with themselves saying 'it's too far from the originals, where's the stealth'. It's a load of rubbish, the Creative Director in the video states that he's giving players the choice between stealth and action, as well as incorporating them together at times. After seeing this video, i'm completely sold on Blacklist. Comment 27 sums up my views on this, apart from not mentioning anything about scaling that wall like a certain Italian assassin. Overall, bring on Blacklist!

What's the secret of Sam Fisher?
The game takes place after conviction and he looks a lot younger in blacklist.
O_o

And if ubisoft want to go the action way for the mass market, so they must stop talking about stealth. Because I liked conviciton but it has nothing to do with a real stealth game.

@15, what, so you're saying the guy conveniently standing with his back to you after you cut the tent fabric isnt scripted. Being given the ability to then clear a group of 4/5 bad guys by simply stealth killing one of them is hardly the shit hitting the fan either is it. This game looks great in its own right, and I cant deny that the 'bourne-esque' kill sequences on groups look and probably play really well, but the reason a lot of ppl are pissed is because this isnt SC anymore. To me SC was better when killing baddies was a last resort, when you could spend 5 minutes just shootin out lights in a courtyard to prep the enviroment for stealth knockouts, and you could move bodies to darkened corners because the last thing you wanted was a gun fight.

Getting bored of everyone thinking they know what the entire game is going to be like from the ONE MISSION we've seen. Just because this mission isn't played out stealthily doesn't mean the rest of the game isn't. And it also doesn't mean this mission can't be done in a stealthy way. The fact that it's probably designed to be done run-and-gun will make it MORE challenging to do the old fashioned way, and all the more rewarding when you do.

They are showing off new features, showing people what's different and innovative. I love all the Splinter Cell games but I'm glad they've evolved, it means I can play any style of SC game I want. Go back to the HD collection if you really don't like the new ones. Or better yet give Hunter a go on Conviction (and hopefully this when it's out) If any of you had played that you'd know how much it's like the original SC games.

And give the Ironside thing a rest. Yes it sucks, but get over it. If you're really going to sit there and not even give the game a chance because of it then you're stupid. The new guy appears to do a good job in this mission, no reason why the rest won't be just as good. If you really can't get past it then pretend it's Sam Fisher Jnr :P

@ 10 There's definitely some influence there from Assassin's Creed, that's not such a bad thing, but the new voice on a character that's been around for a long time will take some getting used to. I mean he sounds 20-25 and looks 40-45.
