| Achievements or not, Spec Ops: The Line was one of the most emotionally engaging games I've played in recent years. I thought the choices you had to make in the game were fantastic. Shame the sales weren't good enough to warrant a sequel. |

| Contrary to what Friedrich says, I felt kind of annoyed that there wasn't an achievement for every possible outcome for every given situation (most had 3, but only ever had 2 achievements tied to them). |

| @4 which choices had more than 2 options except the end of the game? I'd be gutted if I missed some as it was a great game, and I wanted to see the results of all the choices. |

| Don't see how achievements ruined it. For me i wasn't emotionally attached because 1: I keep hearing the same voice actor in each game breaking immersion/disbelief. 2: They were generic stereotypes of tough guy/funny guy/leader guy. There was just nothing new there. |

That's really a shame. I bought this at launch and love it. At least Yager are working on a new game, and I can look forward to hearing more about that. |

| I completely agree with Friedrich. I haven't played Spec Ops but I thought Army Of Two: The 40th Day suffered from the same achievement tied morality decisions. You're gonna get both of them, you've made that decision when you saw the achievement list, that right there takes alot away from you caring what decision you'll make cause you'll see things either way. A game like The Walking Dead got it right, completion based cheevs and you will want to play that game a million times to find out all the things that change when you make a different decision. |

| @5 The 'hanging men' had 3 outcomes, the Epilogue had 3, and I'm sure there was another but I could be mistaken. So ok, maybe not most of them, but it still bothers me that it bundles 2 outcomes together for one achievement on those few. |

i agree, i HATE it when games force you to play through as an evil character just get it 100% complete in your games collection. i always play through as a good character, i despise being evil through the main game. i will occasionally be Chaotic Good, as in really make evil doers pay, but i never harm innocents. i admit it can be fun to be evil, but still, they should never force you to do it in order 100% the game's storyline. |

| @11 Pretty much everything you do in this game is morally ambiguous at best, monstrous at worst. There is no good to be found here. |

To bad there won,t be a second Spec-Ops i realy enjoyed the game, as for moral choices in games we seen it before in a somewhat simpler form in Army Of Two:The 40Th Day. As goes for Spec-Ops:The Line, the choices you made could have a greater impact, as in the end its made pretty clear no matter what that Walker lost it somehow. The achievements about moral choices could be done better and should only be applied when you realy the best choice, we not have to forget the choices in this game wasn,t about good or bad as the message they wanted to send us was in war there is no good or bad, just bad and even more bad choices. Anyways wished more gamers had bought this game but my geuss is most gamers these days are not huge fans of 3th person shooters rather just stay with regular FPS,s, as for me i seen my share of FPS over those years so every 3th person game is a welcome break. |

I'm in agreement with the majority of comments-Spec Ops is an awesome game with one of the best single player military shooter campaigns i've played.Yes it was dark and somewhat depressing but thats what war is.It made you think seriously about how combat and 'collateral damage' affects the soldiers involved.I'm kind of glad they aren't going to knock out a sequel just for the hell of it-I just wished this game had sold well,it is a game that deserves to be recognized and acknowledged for doing something different with the genre. I am therefore interested to see what Yager are working on and hope its of a quality to match Spec Ops. |

| I wanted to buy the game on release day but I played the demo and thought it was alright but the thing that turned me away the most was the plot. It wasn't, in the demo at least, the slightest bit interesting. I will still get it eventually but not for full retail, and perhaps find out that I was wrong about the plot |

Achievements ruined all of games in general. Once you obtain the achievements for a game, it's like there's nothing left to even do. That is unless they are simple achievements, much like those for Minecraft. Even after getting all of those, the game remains fun and enjoyable. Personally I believe for the most part the achievement system was a huge mistake, or rather it was a mistake to give them point values and an overall purpose. |

| @17 Achievements practically cover all their is to do in most games, besides pointlessly fool around. Only now your doings are made public on a profile. Think about it. |

Had the pleasure of playing through this cracking game over the weekend. Speaking as someone who is a bit bored of these "ooh rah!" military shooters I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed SpecOps and its interesting narrative. I do agree the choice-based achievements spoiled things a bit and it would have been better if they were either secrets or didn't exist at all. Would have also been nice if they had taken things a step further where your decisions throughout impacted the overall ending, but still a solid effort nonetheless. Shame there probably won't be another one :( |

| all the article said was that sales weren't strong enough to obtain 2K's support. That doesn't mean that another publisher won't back it. And someone should Spec Ops was good enough gameplay wise to have a sequel, storywise I think they did all they could with Walker vs the 33rd vs CIA/refugees. |
