What I find more pathetic is that they actually say "Silent Hill HD Collection is available at retail stores nationwide." at the end of their statement. So what they are telling me is "Go buy our sub-par, poor excuse of an HD collection that we won't bother fixing." Awesome. Great job, Konami. |

the original games weren't perfect, they had enough glitches, quite how they can release unfinished garbage, then say they won't patch it is unbelieveable just because some fucking retard lost the disc, or whatever they claim happened, you clowns never heard of backing up data, seriously, well, just close them down, i can't think of anything good they've made in a very, very long time, they just ship broken crap constantly |

There’s bound to be comments slamming Konami this seems to be another case like FEZ/Polytron not doing a patch because Microsoft is wanting too much money. For a patch. Do Sony charge when game needs to be patched? Seems weird Konami are doing it for one console and not both. |

2nd time I've noticed "timing" as an excuse for not giving a shit (other time was 2K Marin when saying why they wouldn't do anything to update Bioshock 2 after everyone complained about the MP DLC being basically unplayable). I didn't buy this, since I already own working copies of SH2 and SH3 on my PS2 and I don't need "HD" to re-enjoy a game (remake? Yes. HD port? No. It's just textures and less blur, which doesn't always make things look better), but this is absurd. I didn't even buy it and I'm mad. Konami just dropped the ball. They delayed Downpour days before release by a whopping 5 months or so, delayed Book of Memories from the 'March of Madness' or whatever Silent Hill month they were having all the way to October (also made RIGHT before release) and then the whole HD Collection has been a mess. I can't believe they released it in the state it was in to begin with, only to fake patch it (and have it not work) and then repatch it only for PS3 and even then, it's not actually fixing it. It's a mess and doesn't really deserve to exist. It's trash. And it's overpriced. You can buy both of the original games for like under $25 and enjoy them just fine as they are. Collection? Where's SH1 or 4? Don't care if fans prefer SH2 and SH3, this isn't a collection in the first place. |

@12, @32 They get a free patch, this is *entirely* on Konami. Konami has never patched invert in Homecoming despite a huge fan outcry and how easy it is to add that, and they never patched any of their DDRU games, the third of which is on the short list along with another Konami classic Hellboy as games that can never be 100%ed. Konami is just a shit company, no excuses. Oh, and @32, there was a PS3 patch yes. Because the PS3 unpatched was far worse than the unpatched 360 version, plus they got a lot of shit for the PS3 patch not being, well, any good. Oh, but, yeah, a few prima donna indies (and indie adjacent DF) have whined, so obviously M$ lulz. MGS and PES are the only series' Konami cares about, and even then how long has it taken to add trophies to MGS4? C'mon, Konami is definitely unquestionably the issue here. |

| I'm going to preface this by saying I'm NOT defending Konami since what they are doing is pretty terrible. The people commenting about how this should be illegal or the consumers have a right to sue are being irrational. They released a game that can be completed and might have minor technical issues. This article even states that the patch was to fix "audio, frame rate and visual effects." Compared to a lot of other glitches in other games these are minor inconveniences. Would it be nice if these things where patched? Of course. Is Konami legally obligated to fix them? No. |

Very sad, but, the truth is Konami is long gone. They can´t do anything more right, despite that load of shit named PES. Miss so much the SNES and PS era, when I´ve used to be very excited about their releases... I am a huge fan of Survival Horror games, and I feel totally abandoned now. Resident Evil is no Survival Horror anymore, it turned to a TPS franchise. Silent Hill at least kept it´s roots, despite the last games being such low quality. What do I get do play in the genre now? Dead Space, and....... Dead Space! Think I´ll pass... |

@#50 The Dead Space games are awesome. Way creepier than SH or RE ever where. And unlike the last couple REs, they actually have decent controls. I still dont get why people rave about RE4 and RE5, I just cant get over the horrid control schemes. And the idea that they made the controls like that to increase tension i just BS, the Dead Space games are way more creepy and intense and they have good modern controls. |

| #38 I don't know if you've actually played the HD collection yet, but these are NOT minor issues being fixed. They made it sound like it's nothing, but every single time I tried to play the game it crashed, it glitched, it messed up to the point of being unplayable. I tried many times to get through the games, especially SH3..but they are so much of a mess it takes the luck of the gods to even complete the game without horrible game stopping issues. Wanting money back for a non working, incomplete game is perfectly reasonable in this case. It's a very, very sad state of affairs with this and many other companies nowdays. |

@72 : Because buy the game won't give them the code. Code in game are compiled and you can't just revert it back in two clicks. But it's seems weird, if they have lost the final version of the PS2 versions, it would be the same for the PS3 port which is based on the same game. |

The whole free game as compensation thing seems to be legit, for the US at least: http://www.examiner.com/article/konami-offering-free-games-to-xbox-360-owners-of-silent-hill-hd-collection I am waiting to hear back from Konami UK to see if they are offering the same deal. However the whole thing about needing a receipt is bull. I don't have my receipt as I brought the game at Tesco and because it was part of a long shopping bill it got mislaid. I know this is my problem but I still have very clear proof of when I brought the game, my Xbox profile clearly states when the game was last played and the dates in which I got achievements. Surely this, along with a picture of the game and a hand written note stating today's date and my Gamertag and real name is proof enough I own the game and brought it before 8th August? |

@81 All game companies know that about Microsofts charges before they put the game on their system, it's not like it's a surprise. If they do not wish to pay the price when things go wrong then they shouldn't put their games on that system. I've just heard back from Konami and the offer to send the game back for another is only available in the US. The rest of the world has to live with a broken game. What great customer service! I guess Konami only value US Dollars. |
