I really hate all this rant of the "Xbox 720". You know how stupid it is that Microsoft/343 makes the Halo 4 system and it would only be good for a year of Xbox 360 games.

| @5 Halo's online community is just as bad as Cods.Little kids shouting and killing people for the powerful weapons and vehicles,camping for snipers and kicking anyone for a legit accident team kill.Online on Halo Reach was awful at times especially in big team battle.Not much of a story either in the game unless you invest more money on other content. |

The Halo UNIVERSE has depth. The addition of the tie-in novels has helped expand it significantly, in the instance that it is personally my favourite game 'universe' created.
I'm beginning to question how well the games actually did story. I loved them back in the day but now...meh :/
I think I need to actually play through 1-3 again, it's been far too long for me accurately judge it. |

| See that's my problem with Halo 4. It's not so much the game itself, there needed to be a fourth Halo after the end of Halo 3, but it's Halo 5 and 6 that I don't want. The series should be resolved. And you know they won't stop at Halo 6. They'll do Reach 2 or some other spin-off. They won't let it die and I think that's just what the games need. Maybe just a break, let the series die down then come back years from now. It's childish of me to think they'd abandon a multi-million dollar franchise just for the sake of quality, but those are just my feelings. |

| 13: The xbox 360 slim has been out for longer than a year...and Halo 4 will continue to be played even when the new Xbox comes out. Just refer back to Halo 2 which was the most played Xbox game until Gears of War. Just because a new system comes out doesn't mean people will stop playing it. Now when Halo 5 is released then sure but that's still quite a bit off. |

| I think its a good thing that Halo 4 is releasing at the end of the 360's lifespan, they are totally familiar with the 360 tech and can squeeze everything out of it whereas if it was a launch game they are limited, Halo 2 did launch at the tail-end of the original xbox's lifespan and that game was amazingly fun online. |

Personally, I felt it was better for Halo to end at 3 or Reach. Just seems like MS wants to keep pumping out Halo games for cash now.
And the games have never done story well. The universe might be interesting, but the way story was presented in the main games was passable at best. |

@34.... that is jsut a moronic troll comment... why would I want to down grade my console? I play the xbox because I enjoy the exclusives, and the better service, just because it has better graphics ect, it doesn't mean it's nessisarily better, hell, look at the comparison between the crytech engine and unreal engine, crytech is superior, but unreal is used more, because its more accesable for design, and has great potential for alteration.
To those who say Halo is being milked... explain to me how you can consider it being milked, when every game has been different, used different elements of mechanics to alter the game play, added to one overall story, which spanks over 20 years in the main now (over 100,000 if you include for forunner war, even longer if you include the human/forunner war).
Halo has depth and potential, unlike some other franchise's.
You complain about moronic kids? They are in every game you'll play on any console, thats part of online play, they anoy you? play better, you can't get kills? improve your game, halo isn't CoD, you work for your kills in it, thats why I personly love the online, I've found reach a great challenge (hate armour lock like many others) but if you can't work around armour lock, then you likely not all that good at the game, the jet pack is far superior then AL, when you it right, and not like a moron. |

| @19 trust me there won't be a Reach 2 considering the covenant blew it up, and who cares if there's another trilogy? It should end after the war with the covenant? There is a whole universe to explore, obviously world peace wasnt declared after the first war on earth so now the entire universe gets along because the humans beat the covenant? The possibilities are endless so if your sick of Halo then don't play it anymore. I don't enjoy country music that doesn't mean they should stop making it so no one else can enjoy it. |

Trust me, I've played Halo PC, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo: Reach online for a long time; the Reach MP just demands the least amount of skill and hardly punishes team killers. Well, you could say it does -- because there's that "kick" ability -- but the thing is that it doesn't work as you'd expect to. Team Slayer can be horrible. Gears of War has a better online community IMO, not to mention e.g. strategy game or RPG communities.
I agree that the Halo series is impressive -- hopefully 343i knows better than Bungie and returns to the Halo "#" days, namely Halo 3, what comes to the skill and rank system for one. They're going to change the core attributes of it however. Avoid starting flame wars/flaming with that overly defensive attitude of yours in future. Halo 4: we'll keep our eyes open. |

Halo3 had a briliant online for me, though the skill system wasn't completely fair in some ways, but was more then reach in others. Over 40 consequitive wins, never moved a true skill as one of the top players, lost one game, I dropped 2 skill points... when I was in a plus k/d... yes... fair ranking system.
Really, Halo4 needs a better match making system, I get tiered of being placed with people who can't play the game against people who can.
Though I completely disagree with the lacking of skill comment, Reach takes just as much as others, making players account for every possible AA in each game, keeps the player thinking, outfighting other players AA's with your own, it does take skill, as every game does, you have to work harder for your kills then in the older Halo's tbh, because of the AA's.
Every community has its ups and downs, I've never said halo has a perfect community, far from it, but it is one of the more imediatly creative community's, and I'm talking about machinima here, that film making that has all but died out because machinima.com destroyed and scattered it's community over night.
For Fps, I'd say halo comes second to strongest opinion imo for first person shooters, only behind valve (every one of their fps) at least on the creative front. |

I don't think you're understanding what I'm saying #36. Just because "the possibilities are endless" doesn't mean they should commit to a new trilogy, when the first game has a half-assed premise. My opinion. Furthermore I said there will be spin-offs, not necessarily Reach 2. They'll continue to beat the series for cash long after it should've died. Clearly you feel that it should just continue to run until the end of time, whereas I (And probably a good chunk of the community.) feel that enough is enough. We don't need to see every goddamn thing the Halo universe has to offer.
And the "just don't play it" argument isn't valid. I'm sure they'll be good games, but will they ever really reclaim the magic of the originals? That's what Halo will become, each time "Maybe it'll be really great this time."
While I'm at it, let's be realistic. The Halo lore has only become expansive because of stuff OUTSIDE of the games. Books, comics, that stuff is what really fills us in. And that stuff will continue, just like the games. I'd like to see the games die and maybe the universe live on through comics and stuff like the animated shorts they're doing. |

@46, I'll completely agree with your comment about the expansive thing being the books, I love the majority of the books, personly, and they fill in on allot that isn't mentioned in the games. But thats why Halo has the potential to span so much.
Halo has the possibility to follow the same type of path of a super hero, in a way, look at batman, colectivly, he'll be somewhere around 70 years old now, has he been milked? fuck yes, but, quality has been drawn from it, on alot of ocasions (I'm only naming him because he's someone everyone reading this will know) there will be good and bad, but, the Halo series has the potential to span for decades, it'll lull after Halo6, but will come back after some time, because the fan base will want it.
I'm iffy on using the master chief still as the main charecter, I would of liked something new for this, I find Blue team so much more interesting then the MC, would of prefered being involved with them, and hope to see them in one of these games, and given justice, not just killed off as nothing.
Halo, is the new star wars in that effect, but rather then starting in movies, it started in video games. There will be good and there... will be bad... I hope not JarJar bad... but there will be bad... |

@14, their communities are in no way comparable. and if you want to go as far as saying, camping weapon spawns, that's why 343i has eliminated power weapon spawns on their multiplayer maps and having Ordinance Drops for power weapons...something like that as I've read.
@17, I will agree that it's the Halo Universe that has depth but overall, it's still superior to any other FPS on the market.
@21, we already knew it would be a trilogy so there wouldn't be any spoilers.
and to everyone saying the franchise is being milked to death, it truly isn't. if you bother reading/viewing the extended media of Halo, such as the two most recent novels that have been released, you'd realize there's a lot more to Halo than just the original trilogy. A Forerunner Trilogy will be just as good as the original, so don't bash on something you haven't even played yet. |

im seeing alot of CoD/Halo warfare here, if you where to ask someone about the story of the game people would tell you HALO'S while if you ask about CoD they would just say never played it. Halo is all about the story while CoD is about online play, this warfare between the 2 games is just stupid since there nothing alike apart from being FPS. |

@ everybody who is dissapointed that they are continuing the Halo series. you guys have to remember...Halo was the killer app for Xbox years ago and was the console's flagship for years. Yes I believe they owe the fans quality and not quantity but aside from ODST and Reach the games have been SOLID. The story is in depth and the multiplayer appeals to a really high demographic...Halo has become Xbox's baby in a way. They are trying to let it grow to keep up but part of me does just wish they left it at the original three (plus maybe Halo Wars, shit was addicting).
I think we are all united in thinking game companies no longer need to grind out sequels with only a year between developments JUST because the first original idea was awesome. As players I think we deserve more original ideas and not half-assed sequels. But that's just my opinion...I mean we do pay their paychecks. |

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this. But 343 never stated how long it would be BETWEEN "Halo 4", "Halo 5" and "Halo 6". They could stretch those over a six to ten year lifespan with ease.
With the introduction of the cryosleep idea in "Halo 3". Technically, they could pull something like Chief going back into cryo at the end of "Halo 6" and wait until the next system and just pull this again. I think the best tactic would be to drop the numbering convention with Halo 4, it's the only way Microsoft could possibly get away with more Halo games once the series concludes, without backlash.
But let's be honest here... The fact that we're all reading this post (as fluffy as it is) is because we know we'll be there for Halo 9, 23, and 47. Because we want to see what happens to John, and we like blowing up our friends online. |
