| With the prices on Games on Demand, would it really be worth not going out and buying the disc and getting three-in-one? An odd move by Microsoft. |

| If it were on XBLA for 800 MP then ok, but I'm guessing it'll be 15/20 bucks each which is nonsense. This is the best way to avoid Peace Walker though, that game was ASS! |

@9 In all fairness the MGS games are usually way over the 10 hour mark in terms of how long it'll take an average player to complete it. I do agree though that 15/20 bucks is a little expensive for 1 game that came out in 2001 (2002 for substance) or came out in 2004 (Snake Eater). I guess we'll just have to wait and see for M$ or Konami to announce a price for each individual game. The doesn't really bother me though because I've already got the HD collection, and it's extremely entertaining. Lot's of replay value I would recommend it for hardcore MGS fans who haven't got it or the new MGS fans who want to give them a go. |

@3, Remember, these are HD ports, not graphic overhauls. Basically they smoothed out the edges and made it look more crisp. It still has the same textures as the PS2 version. Given the graphical difference between PS1 and current gen, it's pretty pointless to do a HD port. @8, I picked up the retail version of this when it came out and decided to play MGS2, despite not being too impressed when playing it on the PS2. I think it's probably because I understood the story a bit better but it was much more enjoyable the second time around. I'd recommend giving it another shot. |

| Yeh... I wouldn't buy them from games on demand, you're lookig at all 3 for £25 ish atm, that will only go down as time goes by... with what games on demand charges, only an ideot would buy from there unless its at the most £10 per game, any more is a blatant ripp off. |

| Pretty much ALL GoD are a rip off. 90% of the time (or more), you can buy a physical copy for $10+ cheaper. Only things NOT available in retail are worth it, like Crysis. |

I got the HD Collection already, played through MGS2 but never went on to 3. Finished them both in the past more than once but still want to play Snake Eater on 360 for the slight graphics boost. Anyone who never played them should atleast pick up MGS3. Fact. |

@1 Well, really you can only guess at the file size that all three games together would be. I imagine it would be pretty freaking big, so I'm assuming that's probably why they've separated the games. |

@24 - Ehh... They can't import the remake. Nintendo owns it, I believe. The Twin Snakes was made by Silicon Knights (originally a Nintendo 2nd party, I think), Konami made the cutscenes, and the game was overseen by Shigeru Miyamoto in addition to Hideo Kojima. Psycho Mantis references numerous Nintendo games and it has a model of Mario and Yoshi in the room where you meet Otacon. They'd have to edit the game and contact Silicon Knights/Nintendo, despite it being a Konami game. And considering Konami didn't even handle the HD ports, I really doubt Bluepoint Games cared enough to go through all that trouble for one game. |

bah good to be able to buy the games seperately, but why such a long delay between regions....think i'll just buy the disc version and not play MGS2 they'll probably want £15 upwards per title anyway, fleecing ass munchers (MS i mean, still annoyed and bored waiting for WP7 marketplace & DOTW to update) also, i see no date listed for the PSP title, i forget it's name, are they not bothering with that, then only one i've not played ???? |

| Wait if you can purchase MGS2 and MGS3 separately from Games on Demand wouldn't that cause a fuck up with the gamerscore rules. It would mean if someone bought just one of them that they could only get 500 gamerscore and would be blocked from the rest.... |

| They separate them for those people like myself who are only interested in the main cannon games and are way too obsessive about achievements. Similar to how Portal can be bought separate from the Orange Box. |

| It's a shame they can't include the MGS1 remake in this collection. They'd probably have to re-tool the entire thing to work with a 360 controller. Then again, there's the whole copyright thing too. I don't know if Sony'd be willing to allow them to port a flagship title like MGS over to another system. |

As definitely stated by many others, the retail disc of most games compared to games on demand are eventually far cheaper. The used game market ensures that. Notwithstanding retailers have sales or clearance games. Unlike Microsoft's games on demand where you have a better chance of winning the lottery than finding a decent sale. Additionally many games on demand are initially priced nearly identical to newly released games. |

lol they sucked collectively , why would anyone buy them separately... theres a reason that no game developer in the last 10 years adopted the control pattern of making it necessary to hold the D-pad in a direction to stay in cover |

| @37 No Sony don't own MGS they just happened to be the most associated with the first one. Originally it was ported to PC, ironically by Microsoft. Then they remade it with a complete graphical overhaul for Nintendo Gamecube. The problem is that this remake can't be ported on anything other than a Nintendo consoles because of their input. |

| Ripoffs On Demand. Some games on there are older than dirt. Still fetching 2-3x the used market rate for a sealed physical copy. But enough gamers now have that "I'm too lazy to go to the store, I want it NOW!, even if it costs more." mentality, so Microsoft makes enough sales on this shit to justify the pricing, and have freely admitted as such when questioned about it all. |

I dont know if its the same with the US the jap version def did come with the code, which means the game is downloadable for xbox. well done konami and microsoft. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_Gear_Solid_HD_Collection |

@4 Im Pretty sure Xbox isnt allowed to get MGS1 or MGS4 because Sony or Konami have the rights to Solid Snake locked down to just Playstation games. Meaning no MGS1 and no MGS4. We got MGS2 because even though Solid Snake is in it, it is mostly a Raiden game. Konami have said that they are looking into bringing MGS4 to the Xbox, which might also bring with it MGS1 at some point, but for the moment we are doomed to Raiden and Big Boss based games :/ And about there being a Limited Edition with a download code for MGS1. It would have been for the PS3 Version, which is why the site took the listing down and edited it, because they were offering something that wasn't for us. As of right now, us Xboxers aren't allowed MGS1 and MGS4. Maybe in the future, but for now, we all need to dust of our PSOnes for MGS1, and as for MGS4, maybe go to youtube and watch someone else play it, which for me, was how i first got introduced to games by my older siblings playing them first... |

its not a matter of if XBOX can get the first and last ones, the first MGS was a PS1 game...theres no way to make PS1 'HD', Sony themselves said this when they first announced it and the MGS4 was developed for the entire BluRay disc space and the PS3 hardware, which means it cant be 'ported' ever, unless Xbox starts using bluray |
