Activision will soon be wrapping up the DLC for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, with the publisher today revealing details on the final two collections of content, as well as release dates for the map packs, which also add the new Chaos Mode to Spec Ops multiplayer.

Modern Warfare 3 Collection #3: Chaos will be coming next week on August 9th, adding the aforementioned Chaos Mode, which tasks you with surviving against increasingly taxing waves of enemies while scoring multipliers by chaining together kills and collecting power-ups. You'll be able to play Chaos Mode on fan-favourite multiplayer maps 'Resistance', 'Village', 'Underground' and 'Dome'.

The so-called 'Chaos Pack' will also include three new Face Off maps - 'Vortex', 'U-Turn' and 'Intersection' - and four new Spec Ops missions, namely 'Vertigo', 'Arctic Recon', 'Light 'Em Up' and 'Special Delivery'.

MW3 Collection #4: Final Assault will then be the final DLC pack for Modern Warfare 3 arriving on September 6th. It'll feature five new multiplayer maps, including an abandoned mining town called 'Gulch', a network of "deadly" oilrigs called 'Offshore', a rusting labyrinth of ocean liners called 'Decommission' (pictured), a war-torn New Orleans entitled 'Parish' and a beach setting on the Jersey shoreline sets the scene for the 'Boardwalk' map.

Both MW3 Collections #3 and #4 will cost 1200 Microsoft Points apiece, with each of the maps, Spec Ops missions and new Chaos Mode to be made available to Elite subscribers separately prior to the release of each Content Collection.

Nice at least that most of the maps this time around were new, rather than a lot of recycled content that previous call of duty's seemed to resort to.

Just another 1,200 MSP away from getting the last few Spec Ops missions to get this game closer to 100%!

@5 It's 1460 with the achievements added from DLC #3. So hopefully DLC #4 will add 140 to make it up to 1600.

Although I completely agree with you #1, I am really glad I didn't get Elite now.

With the 'scam' talk going around at the moment put to the side (which I can gather, is because of the map packs already hitting a sale), I really don't like the Face Off mode.

I can't remember what expectations/promises were made before Elite's launch, but the content drop doesn't seem to have met up with them, from what I vaguely remember. But not only that, but because of my reasoning above, I'd be a little peeved that a 'DLC pack' is centered around Face Off (looking at pack number 3). Pack number 4 is similar to what I'd have wanted/expected having bought into Elite.

@8 I'm glad I got the hardened Edition. That gave elite and made sure I didn't have to pay a cent.

With 4 spec ops maps collection #3 might actually be worth the money (or at least its less of a rip off than the others). Collection #4 has no spec ops so wont have achievements, great news for completionists who've only bought the previous packs for achievements

Why buy these or even any of the map packs when there's always a new Call of Duty around the corner.

A couple of things still amaze me. One is that people are still playing this game. Second the people who say that they're glad they bought the Hardened Edition because Elite was free. The Hardened edition was a hundred dollars dumb asses. And lastly, @ #8 that's what I don't like about these subsrciptions or season passes, they never actually announced what would be in it. So you pay your fifty bucks almost a year ahead of time and then end up with dogshit like Face Off game modes and tiny maps that probably took them an hour to slap together. Not to mention that Face Off used to be called Cage Match which they quietly removed from MW2 and sold back to us in our Elite package. Worst Call of Duty ever.

20, you're a dick.

On-topic, I'm disappointed. IW had real plans to bring something like combat training to MW3, which I'll probably need when Black Ops 2 comes out because I'm not buying that flaming piece of trash, and survival should have been a four-player endeavor from the get-go. Nine billion maps and a game mode with crummy spawn points later, no combat training, still only two-player survival. We got fucked.

@ #24

I hope Combat Training returns in Black Ops II, it was a great addition. It's nice to have a place to play clean multiplayer even if it is against bots. On Veteran difficulty it felt like real multiplayer. I only wish you didn't have to be connected to XBOX Live to play it.

Correction: Veteran CT felt like playing against a bunch of aimbot using PC players. I want the AI to be more like campaign, not ridiculous aimbot AI.

Haha. Fair enough, I stand corrected. Either way the aimbot AI's aren't smashing me with the grenade launcher, raining javelin strikes and whatever other cheap tactics XxCoDKidSN1p3RzPR069420YOLOsW@GG$xX are doing that makes me quit to the dash and trade my game in.

@4: I instantly thought of Zombies when they said that. Think of Chaos as a lesser Zombies if you will.

@27: I love that name you made to tease the kids with, even throwing YOLO in there, thank you for the laugh! You did forget SWAG in there, but I will let it slide...

So many confused people;

1. People who like the game are people who care and are still playing
2. People will carry on playing until BO2 arrives, new maps add to the longevity and stop things getting dull.
3. People who like the game dont seem to be so bothered about people who don't like the game, so what are the dislikers getting their knickers in a twist over?
4. IW have missed on a few golden tickets like combat training but it's done now, enjoy has left of mw3 til November

So these will be the last 2 packs making 4 packs in total.
Now lets do the maths, each pack is 1200msp so thats 4800msp in total and elite cost 4000msp. Good deal if you ask me...
Wait...
Didnt they drop the 1st 2 packs by 50% a couple of weeks ago?
So 4800msp minus 1200msp is 3600msp...
What a rip off!
Thanks marketing teams (Dicks!)

I love when people act slow and ask who's still playing this. People are stay playing Call of Duty 4. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean all of a sudden the world's going to stop playing a game.

35: Elite also covers the deep clan interface, which, honestly, at this point, I care more about than the maps themselves. I didn't at first, but then they released a bunch of maps that suck; now I'm just more excited to gather up with my friends every weekend and rip shit up for three hours a day.
