Rock Band Blitz Rocking Out on XBLA in August

Harmonix has announced that Rock Band Blitz is but a month away from launching on XBLA, bringing with it 20 tracks from a variety of major artists, as well as the ability to export tracks from the thousands already available in the existing Rock Band library.

Taking its cue from Harmonix's early titles, Frequency and Amplitude, Rock Band Blitz doesn't require any peripherals (other than a controller, of course), which means you needn't dig out the guitars, drums et al. Here's the first 15 tracks originally revealed in May and four new tracks revealed today, highlighted in bold.

  • All-American Rejects - Kids in the Street.
  • Barenaked Ladies - One Week.
  • Blink-182 - Always.
  • Collective Soul - Shine.
  • Elton John - I'm Still Standing.
  • Fall Out Boy - A Little Less Sixteen Candles....
  • Foster the People - Pumped Up Kicks.
  • Great White - Once Bitten Twice Shy.
  • Iron Maiden - Wicker Man.
  • Living Coulour - Cult of Personality.
  • P!nk - Raise Your Glass.
  • Quiet Riot - Metal Health.
  • Rick Springfield - Jessie's Girl.
  • Shinedown - Diamond Eyes.
  • Tears for Fears - Shout.
  • Avenged Sevenfold – “So Far Away”
  • Fun. ft. Janelle Monáe – “We Are Young”
  • Kool & The Gang – “Jungle Boogie”
  • My Chemical Romance – “Sing”

There are more tracks to come for Rock Band Blitz that will no doubt be announced prior to the game's launch date. Rock Band Blitz will be coming to the Xbox Live Arcade on August 29th for 1200 Microsoft Points. Rock and rooooooll!

@3

Don't know what you're complaining about...

Day one purchase for me. While there are a few other songs I like, they got me at "Metal Health (Bang Your Head)" by Quiet Riot.

I have to agree, the set list is quite bad. But the saving grace is that I can use DLC and exports from other RB games. So excited for RBB!

what's wrong with this setlist? just because it doesnt include your favorite band (which it seems like 9 times out of 10 is some terrible metal band) doesn't mean that this is a bad setlist. it looks pretty balanced if you ask me.

Buying it just for the excellent One Week, DLC songs will be the most part of my gaming after that.

For everyone complaining about the setlist: you do realize that all current and future RB DLC is compatible, right? So you can play all the generic metal you want. For me, just being able to finally have Cult of Personality in RB will be worth the purchase alone.

@15 I believe you will be able to export RBB into RB3, but I'm not sure if there will be a fee and much that would cost.

To clarify, I mean the RBB soundtrack. Not the RBB game itself.

@15 and 16 you can use them in RB3. I doubt there'll be a fee (theree wasn't with GD RB+) but you never know.

@18 I don't know about Green Day RB+, but I'm pretty sure there was a 800MSP fee to import the songs with the standard version. Personally, I'm hoping that RB3 will read RBB as DLC and not require any import fee.

@19 For what it's worth, GD+ had an export code included with the game.

@ all: And yes, it has already been announced that all existing DLC/imports will be compatible with RBB, and that RBB songs will export into RB3.

Which means Day 1 buy!

I know lots of people on here are already complaining, but in my opinion, THIS game should have been part of the Summer of Arcade...but no, I have to wait a whole month longer because of that.

@Whoever Every game cost MS points to import except, the track packs and GD:RB (With GD RB Plus at least). Lego RB you don't even need the game, but still have to pay the export costs on the marketplace.

I'm pretty sure they made it clear before that this would just work with RB3 so I would think this ones free.

Only reason I am getting this is for the songs to play in RB3, the game looks shit in general.

Also, in the news posts, you say it comes with 20 songs, then say there are more songs to come. If there is one more to come, its not song(S). So which is it? Hoping it's more than 20, but whatever.

@10 I'm not a fan of metal tbh. Give me some Bruce Springsteen, Black Crowes, Foo Fighters, Idlewild or Biffy Clyro.

I'm not complaining I'm just surprised because ever other rock band/Guitar hero has had at least a few songs I like. This has none.

A very poppy looking setlist.

Not a fan of the new songs at all, but the rest looks strong enough.
