Far Cry 2's Lead Designer, Clint Hocking Joins Valve

Having left LucasArts recently after working on Splinter Cell and Far Cry 2 at Ubisoft, it seems that Clint Hocking has finally settled at Valve. That's according to his Twitter feed anyway, where Hocking posted a picture of his son climbing the developer's huge valve sculptire inside its Seattle HQ.

The picture is accompanied by the words "Arrival. (and Son).", which seems to suggest that Clint Hocking has indeed joined Valve having departed LucasArts last month to move "on to something new."

Could that "something new" be mucking in on Half-Life 3? We can only hope...

This is good. Far-Cry 2's graphics were superb, and Valve are superb (I haven't disliked a Valve game to date). Bring it on...

Maybe he's the one who is helping Valve count to three now...?

This is the absolute worst news I have heard regarding Valve since the unfunny twats from OMM were recruited. Hocking's a complete hack, FC2 is a politicized piece of garbage more notable for the bugs than gameplay.

It's clear Newell and the gang have totally lost it.

@3 Fair enough, my mistake. Although, I would ensure next time that you address the right person. Not, erm... yourself. :)

Let Valve take their time on Half Life 3 guys. They made Portal 2 about 3 years after the original Portal, and Portal 2 blew my mind. Only IMAGINE what Half Life 3 will be able to do! It will write HISTORY!
