This could mean phenomenal things outside of Call of Duty. Possibly even funding moving into future Prototype titles, works with Blizzard for a potentially stronger Warcraft, Starcraft, or Diablo release for the Xbox (or WP7/WP8); anything, really. All-in-all, it could mean great things; we just have to wait this out rather than speculate on the negative -- unless of course we have some stockholders here. |

@4, Why? us the Xboxers, would gain nothing from this as the game is developed on 360 then ported to PS3, I have nothing against PS3 users and don't want them to miss out on the biggest franchise in gaming (even I'm not a fan I can't deny its massive). Anyway OT: Acti not only have COD but they have a few big licenses, marvel and Transformers to name a couple, and if M$ gets their hands on these then its goodbye competition. And competition breeds quality. |

| Wouldn't surprise me if they did this. They'd make their money back with the percentage they'd get from a single CoD release. I'd be more surprised if they didn't do it. |
|

| If they buy them, I expect they'll keep CoD multiplatform at least for awhile. There's too much money in the PS3 port to just ignore for console warz. Sony is killing themselves well enough anyway, the last thing MS wants to do is buy Acti, make everything exclusive, and thrust a bunch of sympathy on Sony and bitterness on themselves. They'll play magnanimous, like they are by developing for iOS, and bide their time. |

It is an interesting idea, i think the only excluives microsoft would get out of it though(if there to) would be Single player games I dont think microsoft would have a problem of COD being on PS3 they still make money off it and CoD on xbox sells more than PS3 anyway. You would see more Excluive deals though. I think it could be a good idea because right now i dislike Activision perhaps a bigger company investing in it would change Activision copy and paste forumla and milking a game for everything. |

| @44 its not a monopoly unless they merged with both Nintendo and Sony then it's a monopoly but I assume the idea would be to use activison as a huge first party stable of games ala transformers call of duty James bond it would make the xbox the ideal console and not sure why the writer says it's a bad time to buy it. Its the perfect time so at next console launch they could say only console that has call of duty which is what the casual gamer cares about |

If anything this will make things very interesting, wonder if work of Warcraft would make it into the Xbox? I've always wanted to play it but don't own a PC, and no console has a MMoRPG othe than FF11 and it's shit! CoD will stay multiplat, it generates too much money from both sides to not be multiplat. I'm more concerned about activision trying out the free to play model in china it's definately bad news for consoles. As for Sony, well they need to pull their heads out of each others asses and do something worthwhile otherwise they can forget tryin to compete next gen |
