According to Amazon UK, Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be launching in March of next year, with the retailer offering a limited pre-order offer in which you can get a steelbook copy of the game with bonus content and an A2 poster shoved into the box.

The bonus digital content includes the 'Upper Echelon Suit' consisting of five armour pieces "with a unique visual and damage protection bonus", Special Goggles that "shine gold" and an unspecified bonus mission. The A2 poster depicts a global map of the conflict zone Fisher will be visiting in Blacklist.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is available to pre-order on Amazon.co.uk, with the Upper Echelon edition offered as a free upgrade incentive. Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be launching on March 29th, 2013 according to the listing, although Ubisoft has yet to confirm an official launch date. I like this whole steelbook case for pre-ordering! I hope it is like Assassins Creed 3, where you get the case during the time you pre-order, so that way you get the normal case too. Hope more big title games follow

Will buy this special edition.

#4 Is because lots of developers want take their time to polish, add more things and improvements over their time with games. Also might affect by Halo 4, Assassin's Creed 3, Borderlands 2, COD Black Ops 2, Hitman Absolution and new Nintendo console's Wii U. All those coming this autumn/late winter so those games and Wii U will be great sale points so those also affect some developers and publishers for sales. So my guess it is 2 reasons sale points and take time in developing of games. :)

When you hear Splinter Cell is slated for a March 2013 release, you can expect it to actually come out in Q4 2014.

I def enjoyed the E3 demo they showed and hopefully its not just "Combat In Motion" as they called it and good old Sam Fisher goes back to its roots again and thats good old "stealth" But i got hopes so i already pre-ordered it. And as some wrote, i def not would act supriced if it gets delayed a few times, it did happen to Splinter Cell Conviction and Ghost Recon Future Soldier ;)

Am I the only one who wouldn't want the goggles to glow gold instead of green? The green glow is so iconic, I'm kind of shocked that they would change it, even just for a pre-order bonus.

Why isn't it avaiable in the US? You would think that a game starring an American, following the American Govt rules would have awesome preorder stuff for the US

@16 Agreed i not pre-ordered it for that bit realy, but i can imagine some gamers might find it cool sneaking around with their gold goggles lol. They probly added because they know alot of gamers are pretty stocked about anything golden "Gold Weapons Skins" ect.

@ 17, I'm with you dude. Same thing goes for Assassin's Creed III. The game/war takes places in America yet the UK gets the better editions. Ubisoft isn't thinking straight.

@4 Claptrap knows something about doomsday.

@17&@20 Please tell me your joking, I know you Americanos have a special kind of humour, but i think the French hate you more than us (just a bit).

@21 I know, but we don't know Ironsides side, maybe he got tired of doing it, but Ubi not tired of making money. My solution is to cut Sam Fisher (Ironside) quotes from Chaos Theory, and plant them in when i'm playing Blacklist.

"Are you gonna say monkey?"

@ 23, you do realize that I don't have hate towards anyone from the UK. all I am saying is that for a war based in America and an agency based in America, it would sense for the US to get the better editions. No hate towards you...

Gonna have to pass on this one. Both Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell were awesome Ubisoft franchises they destroyed by doing exactly the what the fans of the series' didn't want. The one feature I see that makes me realize this isn't Splinter Cell anymore: daylight. Plus, no Michael Ironside seals the deal. This game is going to bomb harder than Oppenheimer. Honestly, if it were not for Jade Raymond giving us Assassins Creed...Ubisoft would have been dead and buried. They should give her a seriously fucking huge Christmas bonus.

Regardless of the whole Ironside debate, i am still a fan of this series and i can't argue with a free upgrade to a Steelbook with extras.

@32 then you obviously aren't a fan of Splinter Cell. Every Splinter Cell game had a level in daylight.

No, dude, I am a fan. Yeah, this game has night levels too, but it'll probably be just like Conviction. Half the game played in black & white because they are so anti-HUD now. Never really knowing for sure if you were visible or not. Still being spotted even when the screen was black & white. Double Agent for the original Xbox made it very clear. How visible you were even how much sound you were making. Best HUD ever. I prefer the first game, where you could never be seen and beat the whole game just using a single sticky cam as your only bullet, and not even really needing to use it much at all. When Conviction started with an alleyway shootout and piled on the Mark & Execute moments, I pretty much realized this franchise plateaued. At least with Double Agent, you had the changes (ie: that stupid "shirt HUD") but also a variant of the game that was 100% traditional.

So I guess I can be excited for this (despite the lack of ironside)

I'm pretty sure most people who ended up hating Conviction actually never tried playing co-op, or even better Deniable Ops. As much as I loved the earlier Splinter Cell games, in terms of fun and badass-ery, nothing comes close to Co-Op Infiltration. Man that shit was awesome.

@38 Couldn't have said it better. All these people that complain about SCC being too much action, not enough sneaking around, that's pretty much ALL you do in Infiltration and Hunter. Plus there are enough levels to make it feel like an entirely seperate but full game, especially if you have the DLC. I love the Conviction main story, but most my hours have gone into Hunter. Mostly trying to do every level with 100% stealth and hand-to-hand kills. Most fun challenge I've ever given myself, so rewarding when I actually did them all.

And we still haven't seen enough of this one to know how much action and stealth it will be anyway.

What a surprise, Ubisoft shafting North America again by giving the EU a better edition. Like AC Rev. Far Cry 3, AC 3, etc.

@43, it's nearly a year until this game is released, Ubi have plenty of time to come up with a good special edition for the rest of the world.

I pre-ordered mine from Amazon the other day, got an e-mail today saying the release had been pushed back to June 2013.

@44...Yeah, I certainly hope they release a nice LE for North America as well. With the new Tomb Raider dropping in March, perhaps pushing it back to June is a good move.
