Yeah, he was in Dead or Alive before the modern Ninja Gaiden games were created (as L Kira Hayabusa stated, he was in all the DoA games, three of which were made before the modern Ninja Gaiden games, and there was almost a three year gap between Dead or Alive 3 and the first modern Ninja Gaiden game.)
It's kind of like how the King of Fighters series has always featured characters from Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting (as well as non-fighting-game franchises such as Ikari Warriors and Psycho Soldier) despite having its own original characters. |

@12: You're not very smart considering they're not announcing all of their characters at once..just one at a time..just saying before you post snarky comments like yours realize what Team Ninja is doing before you do so.
Anyway, OT: I'll most likely play as my regulars as I have in the DOA series but I'll try out Rig just for the heck of it. |

@15: the game is out in 3 months and so far all we know is we are getting ONE new character and a couple of guests from a far superior fighting game. Definatlely not looking like a 1st day purchase for me... It doesn't keep me in suspense wondering who they will reveal next, it makes me think it's a cheap graphical overhaul and less of an update than SSF4:AE which had a whole host of extra characters and modes but still got slated for being the same old thing rereleased.
So far rubbish, let's see if my mind changes with time. Paying for a bikini is not my idea of good DLC either. |

Would have been a day one for me, but without itagaki at the helm it's a no go. this new director is not impressing me at all. he butchered ninja gaiden 3, and so far he is in my opinion turning doa 5 into a one of those "let's put a random cg cut scene in mid fight for a combo" fighter's like all the naruto and dbz games.
imo: I feel like 2012 is the end of the fighting genre. |

@17 - No Itagaki is making me aprehensive aswell and although i suck badly at NG and have never completed either of the modern games *blushes* i could see how 3 wasnt right just from the opening of the demo :s
This seems like it could be good but why the secrecy of the fighters? Ive been playing DoA since the original and each game generally contains the fighters from the previous plus some new ones.
I hope the game contains Bass,Leon and Jann Lee as they are my favs next to Bayman who i know is there. |

| @17 your judgement is completely without merit. although the founder of doa is not at the helm doesnt mean that the game will be shit. and unless uve played the game which apparently u havent... when you go to pick a stage you can turn the dangerzones of the stage off and it just becomes a standard square arena just like in doa 4. and secondly he has made changes that will make the competative sceen better. such as lowering the amount of active frames for a counter. and having more revoery frames from an attempted counter. so read up and learn your facts before you start bashing a game, a company, and a creator before the game is realeased. so just shut your mouth and go home |

@17 and secondly take a look at halo 4.. when bungie called it quits everyone thought the new halo 4 would b shit but guess what at E3 everyone was blown away at how good the game was and how solid a job 343 did with it. so it can be done again... read up and stop making arguments that you cant defend
