Would be nice to have co-op in this one, thats the only reason I didn't buy the first, seems like such a wasted opertunity there, would of made a good co-op game. Here's hoping for co-op, and mounts/fast travel, random spawn enemies rather then scripted. |

| I am liking this first one a lot. My only gripe - and perhaps I've been spoiled - is that it there is no true fast travel. Makes the return trip of each quest so very long. |

| @1 I think mounts would be a great idea, I don't mind the no fast travel but walking between locations does sometimes get very dull. Co-op sounds interesting but in general I prefer to play RPGs solo (Borderlands excepted) |

@1 I actually liked the no fast travel, sure it's a pain in the ass, but it brought me back to my Morrowind days where a game doesn't have to be overly easy just to impress the Call of Duty audience I think full co-op would break the immersion of the game, but co-op during, say, the Ur-dragon battle would gave been excellent. Either way, I'm definitely a fan of this series now and ill be very interested in a 2nd one |

This is the one Capcom game where I was hoping for a super version. Well not Super, I was hoping for 'Dragons Dogma: Online', which would pretty much be Monster Hunter, but in Dragon Dogma's world, but alas this is not the case. I was also really hoping that if this sold well they would finally see sense and release a Monster hunter outside of Japan, no alas this also is not the case. WHY? CAPCOM WHY?, DO YOU TEASE ME SO? |

Dragon's Dogma has become one of my favourite ever games, so this news is fantastic. I just got 1000G and that involved playing through it a second time -- and I very, very rarely do that with games. It was just that much fun. It's definitely not a perfect game and so I think a sequel is definitely a great idea, as they could iron out the few kinks to make an indisputably great game. |

| @20 You're right, not all games do need co-op, but Dragon's Dogma is one that does. If you have 3 people following you around anyway, does it matter, I mean with 4 human players you know that they are actually gonna be a lot more helpful in taking down Monsters than the AI is, so why not let those who want it have it, and let people who like yourself play by themselves with there AI partners. |

| @23 the whole point of a pawn system is to integrate an online component into a single player game without making it another hack'n slash co-op game. co-op does not fit into this game's identity, but this like the ur-dragon and the pawn system work perfectly. No thanks, Dogma is a single player game. |
|

Forum Posts: 934 | Comment #25 by Lord Montymort Monday, June 25, 2012 @ 10:43:38 AM | |
| @24 You are an idiot. I'm not saying it should be forced, or that they should do away with the pawns, i'm saying there should be the OPTION for both ways of play. Also it fits perfectly with the games identity, the game already has a legitimate way for players to travel to each others worlds (just expand on the way pawns travel to multiple worlds). Then again, I guess I wouldn't want co-op in games if I didn't have friends either. |

Agree with 24 ... Dragons Dogma and the pawn system works well and should stay single player. What i want though is a very similar game with co-op with an rpg/mmo style gameplay to play with friends. I want to fight a boss with help from friends that need X dps X armor before it can be killed. Bring bosses where you need 4-5 people to beat it to gain rewards. I play similar games on PC but i need something for the xbox and don't want to wait till xbox 720. |

| @26 So you want Monster Hunter? That's essentially what this game is only Monster Hunter has 4-player co-op but isn't open world. That's how I know this game would work so well with co-op I've play Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii to death with my friends, and the lack of co-op is the biggest disappointment of Dragon's Dogma. |

@20, what was the last rpg game you played co-op with people on the x-box like dragons dogma? there are 3 others i can think of off the top of my head, dungeon seige, which wasn't that great, hunted with didnt carry progress, and sacred, which i think was co-op but haven't played. In Dogma, you travel around with 3 companions all the time, so team mates are already involved in the game, all that would change is that they can now be friends rather then just bots, could you honestly say that would be a bad thing? Theres nothing wrong with the paw system, and no reason it'd need to be taken out, nor did anyone mention that it did. Not all games need co-op, I agree with that, but games where co-op fits perfectly into the game should have it looked into. Dead Space3 shouldn't have co-op, because its going to distract from the atmosphere of the game for example, but in dragons Dogma, its only a stones throw behind what being co-op would be! |

| @29, monster hunter is for the ps2, psp, and maybe ps3, not sure there. But it's got a rather sizable cult following, one of those hidden gem sorts of games, much like how chrome hounds use to be for the 360 (if you counted out the boosters). |

I loved Dragon's Dogma from all fronts. I personally dont remember too much that actually got on my nerves as other RPGs have done in the past. I had done 3 playthrus and was in the middle of my 4th with 180+ hous. A few things Id like to address from reading the post a few key notes about this game and a potential sequel. @Lack of fast travel: This generation has been spoiled with it. Back when next-gen was rumors games were challengin. MOST RPGs made you walk everywhere at all times. IF you forgot sold destroyed a quest item you were majorly SOL. I believe Legend of Zelda somewhat invet a fast travel system when you acquired a gay ass flute where you could cycle thru places youve been. Yes it may take a few extra minutes to turn in quests but just think IF you didnt have the Ferry stone and Port crystal where would you be then. Mounts would be a possitive addition but not a lazy map based fast travel system. @Co-op: Like it was said before, NOT ALL SINGLE PLAYER GAMES NEED CO-OP. Yes it wouldve been great for me and my buddies to be able to game together that once in a Blue Moon where neither unit was performing an inspection or on manuevers or what not. But the Pawn system works well. I would like for Capcom to take it to an extreme are with those who want Co-op and incorporate a drop in drop out Pawn system where you play as your Pawn in your friends game as they are the Arisen. @Monster Hunters: For what I always thought of as a BETA test to bring Monster Hunter to the western RPG fan is we FAILED. Im not a MH or RPG hater or anything far from it. I personally had a copy of MH on PS2 up until 2007 when my EX got pissed and thru it into traffic. BUT IF you were to take the stats between the Ur Dragon PS3 and 360 servers on the 2nd week of release WE (360) were on Generation 30+ and they (PS3) were 80+. This would tell Capcom as a company IF we were to westernize MH start on PS3 cause thats were the dedicated RPG fans are. Im not a MH or RPG hater or anything far from it |

@36, what you said about co-op is adsactly what I meant by co-op, taking the pawn system further as well as keeping the idea the same sort of thing at its base. The bones for it are already there waiting to be picked up. Fast travel, I'd say a dimmed down version of it would be best, aka, portal sections within the capital citys that link to one another, thinking similar to how it was in WoW, with the basic potrals anyway. I'd just love for a good rpg game personly that is co-op able, for the xbox 360. But, can't have it all ways, still ticked over deadspace3 tbh... |

This just made me smile :) lol so yeah all I have to ask in the sequel is this 1. a more vast open world like skyrim. 2.add mounts like hourses and Hippogryphs (just a thought sence its a game about fantasy, but you can't tell me that wouldnt be awesome to ride a Hippogryph!) 3.if no mounts then fast travel, please!. 4.online co-op 5.bigger, more brutal monsters then before! and makes it bloody and gory! like allow severed limbs and decapatation! 6.do something better with the love interest thing, really it was kinda lame although different how you could make anyone you're love interest, just keep the same idea just make it better! 7. and also just remembered add the ability to forge armor kinda like skyrim but more like munster hunter where you can go out and kills monsters and and use their bones and flech to forge armor and weapons. but all in all just make the game bad ass! |
|

also 8. makes the monsters more correct like for example the succubus is a full woman figure with horns, a tail, and wings not a bat with tits, and the cockatrice is a rooster and a dragon combined not a black griffin. and another 9. add swiming and deep sea monsters! likes sirens and sharks and the kraken! do and I'll love capcom forever! |

lol i forgot one more thing :) i know i'm annoying but 10. add more vocations not just the same thing like strider and ranger? wtf with that? no completely awesome vocation like one that only lets you weild a sythe and more weapons either that or remove the vocations and let the people just use what ever you want... i'm fine with whatever. |

Quoted from #38 "3. if no mounts then fast travel, please!. " You do know there are Port Crystals right? You can have up to 5 of them set up in the game to fast travel (more then enough). I never had any issues using them to get where I needed to go. |

First off, this is a RPG. This isn't a Shooter, RTS, or Side-scrolling Action Adventure game where co-op isn't always needed. It's a RPG........ If someone could explain to me why Co-Op is bad for a game such as this AND have it actually be a legit reason, I'll give you the biggest god damn cookie the world has ever seen. It wouldn't detract from the game at all, and it would benefit both single players and online players. I really don't see a valid argument as to why a sequel SHOULDN'T have co-op, besides the fact that single players want to be greedy. Also, yes, there's fast travel in this game, but only at the end-game. Having a Port Crystal in say Cassardis, The Bluemoon Tower, and The Great Wall would of been nice instead of having just 1 in Gran Soren. |

@51, people compare to skyrim because it's something anyone can relate to easily, and it has all the base blocks in place for something to possibly be added, if a base element is missing. AKA mounts for instance. @50, sequals are often green lighted before the games release, or based on its selling rate depending on the studio. |

| I enjoy the fast travel system, i feel at times games like Skyrim or Fallout have spoiled us, The travel's makes it more intense when actually encountering a monster and having to make the journey back. I think the future DlC could add in more classes, the one's in the game are great and i would love to see what else they could create. |
