In Stores This Week Around the World

Plenty to get stuck into this week, with a number of new, notable titles hitting stores around the world.

Leading the way is The Amazing Spider-Man, the latest of Beenox and Activision’s contractually obligated Spidey games. And while we’re not expecting Arkham levels of slendidiosity, we’ll settle for a solid outing. We loves us a bit of Spider-Man.

At the other end of the spectrum is Spec Ops: The Line; the sandy, morally murky 2K shooter. Rich is finishing up with that one now, so expect a review when the embargo lifts early this week. Spoiler: He thinks it’s alright.

Beyong that there’s a bunch of licensed titles including the official Tour De France and Olympics titles, plus a crappy Ice Age tie-in. Australia finally gets LEGO Batman 2 and Europe gets Quake 4 also, rounding out a pretty busy week. Hoorah for new games!

Spec Ops: The Line for me! Got it pre-ordered and will have it soon! I was rather impressed by the demo as well and heard that it was a pretty easy, quick, and fun 1K, which are the types of games I like the most.

...I want another fucking Gundam game. Not Dynasty Warriors, but something like Federation vs Zeon on the PS2.

I've just cancelled my pre-order for Quake 4 from zavvi.co.uk, said on thier website Quake 4 was released on 22/06, then I checked play.com and thiers said 29/06 :/...and now I noticed it takes a month to dispatch a copy from zavvi so i'd be waiting until 18/07 to get it! :( Might pick up Spec-Ops though, need to see what the demo is like first :)

How can they keep making crash time games!? Who is funding these people? The games are terrible. Why would a Wookiee, an 8-foot-tall Wookiee, want to live on Endor, with a bunch of 2-foot-tall Ewoks? That does not make sense!

Quake IV in Europe ? That was a launch title, so why is it being listed as being released now ? Is it a remake of the 2006 title ?

Oh, and I'd get Spider-Man too, but I don't like that they allow his web lines to stick to mid-air instead of only to buildings/objects. That really ruined my interest in the game.

Spider-Man plays like Arkham City this time folks, it's actually "Amazing" this time around. Best 12 hours I have spent on a Spidey game in a long time.

Spec Ops is so sweet too. I really am enjoying that one. Haven't finished it yet but its great!
