We'll clear this one up for Crytek right now and save the studio the hassle. YES. Pretty much everyone wants TimeSplitters 4, and has been wanting TimeSplitters 4 for the best part of seven years. Still, despite a clear demand for the game, Crytek Founder and CEO Cevat Yerli has been putting out the feelers on Twitter in an effort to get a handle on the community's feelings about a new TimeSplitters.

"I had 2 interviews that provoked this question, how big is the Timesplitters Community? Let me hear you!! TS2 rocks, one of my alltime favs!" Yerli tweeted in response to an earlier conversation on a TimeSplitters forum. We suggest getting on Twitter and pestering Yerli to get on the case and sort TimeSplitters 4 out sharpish.

Crytek had recently announced that TimeSplitters 4 isn't in development, stating that it had been the iconic TimeSplitters monkeys doing all the teasing. "In short, the experiment was to implement the infinite monkey theorem. With cloning being a far too expensive option, we spent all of the development budget on buying monkeys on the black market," Crytek's tongue-in-cheek statement read.

"Those seven monkeys are now sat in a room with typewriters and lots of mirrors, and we fully expect Timesplitters 4 to be finished soon. Rumours are that they haven't written any code but just tease the press from time to time. Those damn monkeys."

Here's hoping that Yerli's latest tweet is just the first signs that TimeSplitters 4 is in the offing soon. Fingers crossed that those monkey's get it sorted.
