| So, really the best deal is get it from GameStop? Why even bother ordering from the others? |

There's a whole bunch of reasons to "bother" ordering from others. Just because it's the best in your opinion, doesn't make it so for everyone else. A lot of people may like Be A Pro and EASHL a lot more than HUT, me included. A lot of people also despise GameStop. I almost always order from Amazon due to the convenience, release date delivery, price guarantee (lots of times I get a few bucks credit a couple days after release) and the occasional future credit offers (i.e. $10 towards future purchases). Besides that, NHL is a lot like FIFA and Madden in that the people who are going to purchase it on release day, are going to do so regardless of pre-order incentives. |

| Yeah eashl drop in games are better than most game types.but to be honest #1 is right a gold pack for 16 weeks is awesome.i think 1 gold pack is ethier 160-240mp points.you get 16 of them unlike amozon, where you can just buy 1 boost pack for the player you use the most for the same price. |

@2 I almost never play HUT, except for the achievements, I'm a 100% EASHL/OTP guy, but you can't deny that the pre-order incentive for GameStop trumps the other two... 16 Gold Packs? They didn't have Gold Packs in NHL 11 or 12, but I figure that's like a 2000 EA Pucks/120 MSP pack... So we're looking at a minimum of a 32 000 EA Pucks/1920 MSP value. Compared to what? A stick, skates, and gloves that do absolutely nothing special except fit together color-wise... and a boost that you will earn along the way while playing the game, and you won't have to play it for long, if it's anything like NHL 12. |

zzz. HUT is complete shit. They should just release EASHL as a separate game so I could steer well clear of the rest of it. |

@2 As #4 pointed out the pre-order options from all the other retailers are either cosmetic or things that half decent players will unlock very quickly just playing the game. The GameStop/EB games pre-order bonuses equate to being worth at least $20 (US). |

| How they hell do people justify buying the same sports game every year? There wasn't much playability difference between 11 ans 12. I have NHL 11, and that will hold me over for a few more years. It's a real rip off, they change rosters and tweak minor things here and there and then slap a brand new price tag on it. |

@#8 Honestly there isn't much "playability difference" between '09 and '12. I've been playing EA Sports games since they first came out in the early 1990s and there has never been any good reason to get each year's edition. You could usually skip 2 or 3 years until some sort of major engine change occurred. However, with the online functions now (in particular EASHL) and with EA being bad about keeping servers open for old games people buy the yearly editions just to keep up with the online communities. |

@#4, #7, and others... I understand what you guys are saying. If you're interested in the extra packs or would otherwise purchase them, then sure, the GameStop offer is the best deal for you. What #1 had said, was "why bother ordering from other retailers?" and that's what I was trying to address. I have absolutely no interest in 20 free packs for HUT since I spend very little time playing that mode. There is no extra $20 value in it for me. Nothing against HUT, it's just not my favorite thing. I'm also not much of a GameStop customer, I view them more as a necessary evil than a preferred place to shop. Again, that's just personal preference. @10 That's fine for those looking to save a few bucks and I do the same for other games. I mostly play the NHL games in private leagues and tournaments, so unless I want to miss out on the earlier events for each season, then I'm getting the game on release and might as well take advantage of some pre-order incentive. As I mentioned at the end of my earlier post, I'm one of those folks that's going to purchase / pre-order this type of game, regardless of what the bonuses are. I'm willing to bet that many of the people reading this article and posting comments are the same way. |

| I wish i was able to get each of the 3, now that would be a nice pre-order incentive. but what they are doing with it here is just trying to get you to walk into a different store then you normally would which may get your eyes attention to catch something else in that particular store, which triggers your brain to make you think "oh i want/need that too" and you end up buying more then you expected when you walked into the store. |

@Mr Pink Gamestop isnt the best option. I always pre order my games from them but this will be the first time i wont. To me HUT is a joke. The real competition lies in EASHL and for the offline guys BAP |
