Ubisoft has reassured fans that Rainbow Six: Patriots is still in development at Ubisoft Montreal, following concern about the game’s no show at E3 2012.
Ubisoft marketing VP Tony Key confirmed the news, saying that the publisher didn’t feel like it was the right time to show the game off.
“Let’s just say that Rainbow 6 is still in active development but what we decided was that the best thing for the brand was to not bring it to the show right now,” said Key.
“We have a lot of other games that we want to focus people on and there will be more information on Rainbow coming.”
Key was also quizzed about the possibility of patriots sliding to next-gen. His, rather cool, reaction was to say, “This [PS3/360] is the only generation that I know about, so I would assume yes.”
Heavy Rain designer Jean-Sebastien Decant took over the creative director role on the game from David Sears earlier this year.
Rainbow Six: Patriots is due out next year.
