EA Sports has just revealed a few gameplay details on Madden 13.
Speaking on stage, Madden General Manager Cam Webber talked the crowd through the game’s new features. These include a brand new physics engine called the Infinity Engine. EA Sports reckon it gives the game “the most authentic gameplay we’ve every created, with countless possibilities.” Taking into account player weight and strength, as well as momentum, it sounds a little like FIFA’s Impact Engine.
You can also regain balance and fight for a couple more yards if a tackle isn’t completely successful. There’s a new Careers Mode too, called Connected Careers. It makes one connected universe for the game, with social, storyline and progression features built in. You can play as a coach, legend, or as yourself through the story of your career, earning XP and leveling up as you go.
The story engine even provides a virtual Twitter feed and there's Kinect voice command stuff. Madden NFL 13 is out on August 28th, 2012.
