How much? Not that it'll matter because I'll get it, even though it feels like paying for a game three times overMonday, June 04, 2012 @ 07:14 AM
@CaptChimpTastic Obviously you've failed to read the article, and the press release. It clearly says "Price: $49.99 / £49.99 / 4,000 Microsoft Points"Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 07:15 AM
So Battlefield fanboys, please explain to me how this is ANY different than CoD: Elite. I'm excited to hear this.Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 07:17 AM
The $50 price tag ACTUALLY doesn't seem too bad. Think about it: If you got Karkand free, and you plan on playing this game, assuming every DLC will be 1200 MSP (and believe me, it will. This is EA.) that's $60. Plus you get all the free goodies. Seems alright to me.Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 07:19 AM
Still feel a bit at a loss, as I already have Karkand, so I shouldn't have to pay for it again. Will buy it anyway as I love Battlefield and am bound to get a good investment out of it, but still...Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 07:20 AM
Wow EA go die in a hole please.Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 07:23 AM
I was planning on buying all the DLC anyway, so might as well save some money and get the subscription.Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 07:24 AM
Nom nom, easily worth it. ~BryceMonday, June 04, 2012 @ 07:33 AM
I would've considered getting this if EA hadn't handed almost all their servers to kids with more money than sense.Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 07:35 AM
@2 Except that it ACTUALLY says $49.99, 49.99 EU, and 4000 MS points, which is roughly £34.Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 07:37 AM
getting it. 50$? you people dont have 50 dollars laying around? That's sad. SOOOOO getting thisMonday, June 04, 2012 @ 07:41 AM
Really looking forward to armor kill expansion!!Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 07:45 AM
I don't like that Karkand is included in the price. I mean, how much crossover is there between people who would be willing to pay for something like this, and people who don't already own Karkand? There should be some kind of discounted version available that omits the Karkand DLC for people who already have it.Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 07:51 AM
@13, I totally agree. Like the Forza 4 VIP discount recently, seeing as I preordered BF3 and got the Limited Edition.Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 07:54 AM
EA and Activision are shit!!Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 08:00 AM
As much as i love BF i dont like the idea of buying dlc without knowing the full details ie aftermath endgame i think i'll wait till more info is realeasedMonday, June 04, 2012 @ 08:03 AM
These season pass ideas are great. You get the DLC cheaper than you would if you bought them individually, plus you get a bunch of extra goodies for paying up-front. It's always a winner for the consumer when you're given more options of how to get your content. What I don't understand is the fanboys. When Elite was first announced, everyone went in to full hate mode over it. A few (very, very few) people like myself pointed out that EA would be all over this asap, and that it wasn't a bad thing. These are good ideas. Yet as soon as Battlefield is doing it, people are totally cool with it. I just wish people would use their brains when it came to this stuff. If you plan on already buying the content, saving money on it and getting extra gear for free is never a bad idea. Never mind how people said that Elite was doing stuff that Battlefield does for free, even though it didn't. TL;DR - yay for Battlelog Premium and Elite. It's more power to consumers. Gamers need to get over themselves and learn to think about what options they're actually being given.Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 08:06 AM
@12: me too!Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 08:07 AM
am i the only one that is scared about the part with server queue priority? if this mean someone that have the pass can kick people without the pass out of a server then this is BullShitMonday, June 04, 2012 @ 08:10 AM
Did I just see a Tank Superiority game mode. 0_oMonday, June 04, 2012 @ 08:11 AM
I'll tell ya how it's different @3.....it's £15 more expensive than elite AND BF3 itself, speaks volumes reallyMonday, June 04, 2012 @ 08:17 AM
I seen, an AC130 as a new vech, i'm actually pumped...!!!!!!!!!!!!Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 08:36 AM
I'm in. This has me drooling. Now if stupid admins would stop banning people for no reason.Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 08:38 AM
If you get this, you're the cancer killing gaming.Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 08:46 AM
Why have EA banned the video due to copyright? they do realise that this site is advertising their services?Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 09:06 AM
Can someone explain to me what they mean by 20 new maps, vehicles, etc. Do they mean more maps and weapons over the DLC's or are they just talking about the DLC.Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 09:07 AM
I like how they included the Back to Karkand pack as 'included' to make it seem like a better offer. Sure, this is a brilliant offer even so, especially if you were getting all the DLC's anyway. But seeing as my *Multiplayer* gaming days are pretty much numbered come September, it doesn't appeal to me particularly.Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 09:19 AM
@25 probably because EA didnt give permission to the person who uploaded the video? @26 it means 20 maps etc.. over the 4/5 dlcs so you get around 4 maps per dlc. If you know where to look online and especially from the uk you can get 4200 points for £25 due to a very good special deal. Now as for the dlc what time is it out? as the article states premium will be released today along side CQB Expansion. Yet the new update went live this morning and its now mid afternoon and still no premium or dlc, if you select the new section of the main menu it doesnt allow you to buy it. Yet.Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 09:32 AM
@#11 Yeah but all my extra money doesn't need to nor do I want it to go to DLC. I like vacationing, going to the theatre, concerts, & conventions, collecting toys, and more. I got MW3 Hardened for close to the price of the regular edition. That was getting a supposed(we'll see) $110 worth of content for sixty dollars. With no option like that available here I might wait and see about another edition or discount. @#17 When has gaming been about the little trimmings. If I went to buy a car I woudln't give a darn if it had bluray built into the seats or cup warmers. I'd care if the damn thing would run and do so efficiently. Whatever blows your skirt up though. It's just a matter of opinion. How long have you been purchasing EA games? I've been a loyal customer for over 20 years buying new 95% of the time. That used to count for something. @#21 I'm confused. This service costs more than ELITE and BF3? @#24 Agreed. I remember DICE saying years ago that they would NEVER charge for maps. Their definition of never must be fairly flexible. Is it a good deal if you already have Karkand and don't care about camo, tags, & what not? Does anybody think there will be an edition of the game that collects all DLC?Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 09:38 AM
Vid no longer available :sMonday, June 04, 2012 @ 09:55 AM
man bf3 got f*cked up bcuz of the no skilled shotgun guys but this premium shit is just the thing they need to make it suck even more !! fuck bf3 im going back to bad company 2 man Cya guys @ bf4!!Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 09:57 AM
i already own karkland as i got the LE on release and im still going to buy this, EA have made a great game and yeah made a few mistakes *cough*taking down dedicated servers*cough* but netherless this game will be popular for years and i dont see any reason why i cant throw my well earned money at them. so EA. take it *throws wallet at screen*Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 09:59 AM
@4 I'm pretty sure all the DLC's will be 1600 points,I got karkand with my game, but I think isnt it 1600 points to download seperately? Also,is Close Quarters still out at the end of the month,or is it going live the same time as this did? (patch was on XBL this morning, said it was for BF3 premium) Because if its the end of the month, then thats a kick in the nuts. Not that I'm buying anything battlefield or call of duty related, hell I dont even play the games anymore.Wish mygamercard.net would update my gamertag from 8 months agoMonday, June 04, 2012 @ 10:01 AM
With the cheap points offer on the Microsoft store at the moment, it means I'll be able to pick this up for the equivalent of about £25.Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 10:22 AM
I can play again !!!!!Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 10:27 AM
Why would I buy a premium pass old and ambandoned.Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 10:31 AM
@33: You do realize that MGC is defunct now, right?Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 10:38 AM
I'll be getting this for sure.Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 11:04 AM
@37 nope, would explain why my gamercard linked to the site hasnt been updated in so long lolMonday, June 04, 2012 @ 11:25 AM
@morrislevy Meant more in the sense HOW MUCH??!! As opposed to not knowing, I just think its a worrying trend that good games want paying twice for something but as I say I'll pay because it IS GOOD, but I reserve the right to bitch about em.Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 11:34 AM
I hate the idea of another subscription service. I already have the LE and so I got Karkand for free. However I am very interested in the additional DLC and they will most likely be 1200msp ($15) each; so to get the remaining 4 DLC packs plus the additional camos, weapons and assignments along with early access and double xp events for $50 is a good deal. I'll be waiting though as I got f'd in the a by the Gears 3 season pass which went on sale after Raam's Shadow was released. I'm wiling to bet that this service will have a special sale/price drop between Armored Kill and Aftermath.Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 12:12 PM
video isnt workingMonday, June 04, 2012 @ 12:25 PM
LOL, what joke. I can't believe how much money people waste on this crap. EA and Activision should run the US economy, as they sure how hoe to get people to spend money.Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 01:33 PM
After looking at the the Premium for BF3 and it's benefits the info in this article is incorrect. Close Quarters DLC will NOT launch today. It will launch 6-12-2012 for Premium members ONLY! For those who do not have Premium will have to wait even longer with no official release window. This is total crap! We have been told for a while now the DLC would launch today. Now EA has found a new way to suck your pockets dry and changed everything. From giving idiots the power to host servers to installing a "Service" similar to Activision's "Elite". No wonder EA was rated the worst company. Thanks EA for destroying another Triple A title!Monday, June 04, 2012 @ 01:55 PM
@29 yep I paid £30 for elite, £37 for BF3 so yes battlefield premium costs more than elite and the actual Bf3 gameMonday, June 04, 2012 @ 02:13 PM
I still want Dinosaur Horde mode :(

Over the weekend a trailer for Battlefield 3 Premium leaked ahead of its official unveil during EA’s E3 presser.
Battlefield 3 Premium subscribers will gain access to all five expansion packs, including Back to Karkand, Close Quarters, Armored Kill, as well as two week-early access to both Aftermath and End Game.
The descriptions of those last two packs peg Aftermath as a "fight for survival" and End Game as "lethal high-speed action.”
In addition to this, subs will also get 20 new weapons, more than 10 new vehicles, exclusive dog tags, camo for kits and weapons, new modes, new assignments, new game modes and more.
Full details of the Battlefield 3 Premium service can be found in the image below the trailer. It’ll go live today alongside the Close Quarters expansion, causing a five hour downtime for Battlelog during the following times:
There will, of course, be more during EA’s presser. We’ll be all over it.
