Trials Evolution Multiplayer Leaderboards To Be Reset With Next Update

RedLynx has announced that the first title update for Trials Evolution is to release tomorrow (Wednesday 30th May) at 10AM GMT/2AM PST, bringing with it a host of fixes addressing a whole variety of issues, and a reset for the multiplayer leaderboards to ensure that it all stays "fair and valid".

None of the game's other leaderboards will be affected by the update and it won't have an impact on your multiplayer rank, but the reset was "deemed necessary by Microsoft and us, due to the large amount of corrupt data that entered the Leaderboard due to server overload and stress at launch, as well as some issues that have persisted until this update," RedLynx explained on its official forum, before apologising for the multiplayer reset.

Here's the list of fixes that will come with tomorrow's Trials Evolution title update:

  • Multiplayer Leaderboard writing issues – addressed a number of situations where proper scores were not being recorded to MP Leaderboards or rank was being reset
  • Multiplayer Stability issues – addressed a number of issues, including viewing Gamer Cards, Party play functionality, response time of multiplayer matchmaking, and situations where the game would occasionally lock or hang during multiplayer
  • General Stability – we have addressed some issues affecting general stability and random lockups. If you find new issues related to this, you can report them to this thread
  • Editor issues – a number of issues in the editor were addressed, including enforcing a 22 checkpoint limit and some issues around the event trigger system
  • Scoring issues – a rare issue where track times were calculated incorrectly at the finish line has been addressed
  • Track Central – a number of issues were addressed, including track sorting issues, lockups when viewing Player-Created Track Leaderboards, and searching tracks by the “Ninja” difficulty tag
  • Skill Games – adjustments have been made to Icarus Factor, Exploding Man, Out of Gas, and Balls of Steel skill games to eliminate scoring loopholes

  • Cool
  • hopefully i can get to playing some multiplayer.the time it took to get a game going put me off playing.
  • good i had some console freezes when i played with a friend in custom maps, also some trouble matchmaking good they fix both
  • Good on fixing the Skill Game exploits. Now, reset all the leader boards on that, so some LEGIT scores can be had. My Icarus score should be in the top 100, not buried under a bunch of bullshit glitched scores.
  • "Oh noes,my rank 1!111!!oneoneone!11! Good to know:)
  • Do people actually believe that Leaderboards are ever legit? No matter how many fixes/resets occur, the leaderboards are always corrupted. There's really no point to them.
  • @6 you're right! Games are always broken too, why even bother, we should just go out and do somthing constructive instead.
  • @ 6 I completely agree. I stopped even trying to do well for leader board sake a long time ago. I welcome any and all patch/fixes to the game though. Sounds good to me!
  • Glad to hear about the ability to search for Ninja difficulty tracks. Does anyone know what the "issues around the event trigger system" were? My custom track was having issues and I'm hoping this might fix them.
  • Wait I only had 3/5 MP wins for my achievement. Will that get reset and I need to win 5 more for the achievement? I put it off for a while because games took too long to bother playing at the time.
  • I havent even completely made it through Trials 1. I'm about finished gold starring mediums and on to hard. Is it worth just skipping to Trials 2 now?
  • @11: I've completed Trials HD pretty well... I'd say that just play Trials HD and take your time - it's a masterpiece - and buy Trials EVO when you think you're ready. But I don't recommend skipping; there might be a few years before a sequel anyway so there's no rush ('cept in the tracks, hehe).
  • @11 Trials Evolution is much better IMO.
  • Love the multiplayer...no better feeling than beating three other people when your on the donkey...never had so many hate messages. To be fair though i wasn't even aware there were online leaderboards other than the bit that tells you how many wins out of how many race you got. Which kinda sucks because im addicted to the single player leaderboards. Fucking love trials!!!!!!
  • @4 No your Score wouldn't be in the top 100 you dumbshit. I got my Icarus score legit and it is the maximum distance obtainable. I wouldn't even know how to glitch it. People like you need to grow the fuck up, and stop screaming shenanigans everytime you get beaten at something. I bet your the guy that sends screaming voice messages at people calling them cheating hacking modding dogs whenever you get beaten in a game. Of course some of those people may have done the wrong thing, but YOU have no way of knowing, let along proving who cheated and who didn't. Stop being such a bad sport and try haarder at the game you sook. OT: I did not even realise there were Multiplayer leaderboards? Oh well, fair is fair.
  • @11...Trials 1 and 2 are pc games! Are you referring to those or the two xbox games...HD and Evolution? Trials 1 is insanly hard...i didnt get very far...sure i got it for free around the time the big thrills pack came out...the controls were horrible on a keyboard. Never played 2. HD Is the better game on xbox imo...tracks aren't as visually outrageous but the gameplay was hard...and addictive...and your rider could take abit of a beating where as in evo the guys a pussy
  • @16 he is a pussy isn't he? One little tap on the back or head and he falls down like a soccer player. Good to know HD is better in that respect.
  • @#15 - Watch the replays of the top 1000 distances. They're ALL using an exploit. I don't call shenanigans on times better than mine, but when there is video proof of tom foolery, I'll call on it... cunt.
  • Fix the fucking screen tearing
  • @ZedChuva, Hahaha is yes I am. But that is besides the point. Why should all the people who did the right thing be reset because of the people that did the wrong thing? I tried damn hard to get that distance and I would be pissed if I had to do it all again. I would like you to please explain to me how you can tell they are using an exploit? I will admit the balls of steel game has an obvious exploit and those people should be reset. But what about the Icarus game?
  • Hopefully I'll be able to have a decent online match. Both times, I was way in front when others would glitch in front of me and win the race. What is the point in cheating? Doesn't get you anywhere in life being top of a leaderboard anyway.
  • @12 and @13 I think he's talking about the real Trails 1 not HD. Trials 2 is worth skipping yeah :)
  • The pure quality and re-playability is amazing. Awesome game.
