007 Legends Moonraker Level Revealed in New Shots and Video

Activision has today released some new assets for Eurocom's latest foray into video game Bond with 007 Legends, showing the first of the game's six classic Jimmy Bond movie-inspired levels taken from Her Majesty's finest's 50 year history. Moonraker is the 11th movie in the 22 film James Bond series, in case you were wondering.

While 'new' is not an entirely accurate description of the trailer, as it was tacked on to the end of the recent Skyfall trailer (Bond 23), it does nonetheless confirm the European release date. In 007 Legends' Moonraker stage, you'll be transported to the space port of billionaire nutter, Hugo Drax, where you'll have to use stealth to infiltrate the base and foil Drax's plans.

Along the way you'll also get to fight iconic Bond henchman Jaws, who likes to smile and is powerless against magnets. Maybe. 007 Legends will be adding its own original, overarching Bond storyline to its six movie tour of Bond's back catalogue, starting with Moonraker, when the game launches on October 16th in North America and October 19th in Europe. Check out the vid and five screens below.

now if only Bond was actually drinking a vodka martini in Skyfall instead of a Heineken, everything would be a-ok.

Loved Goldeneye: Reloaded's campaign. The multiplayer was an awful lagfest. Sad, considering Treyarch once nailed the Bond MP in QoS this generation. Hoping this MP will be MUCH, MUCH better than Eurocom's last offering.

Don't judge a game on graphics....Gameplay is the only thing you need to worry about.

@2 I'm inclined to agree with #1 on this, not in the matter of it being a piece of shit but it definitely is in need of a technical overhaul. I haven't seen graphics this bad on a newly released game in a while. It may still be fun to play as Goldeneye was but I would really like if they made a Bond game that would actually take my breath away the way the original Goldeneye did back in the day.

While the graphics are not great they're not deal breakingly bad.

The gameplay just looks awful to me, which is a deal breaker.

Looks very average. Why is it so hard to use Quantum of Solace as a template? Jesus that game was f*cking brilliant, especially the multiplayer. Why don't people see that?

the first two screenshots are pretty good. After that the screenshots get very meh. I mean back in the day this would have been amazing. I feel that now since we can accomplish so much more in games that these screenshots don't do it. I want to see reviews before I purchase this.

@18 I am with you. I still play QoS multiplayer to this day! I really wish Treyarch would get contracted to develop the next one, again, but now that they're name is much bigger because of CoD, I can't see that happening in the foreseeable future :/

Am I the only one who thinks Bond would be more fitting as a 3rd person shooter/action game?

Exhibit A: Uncharted.

... Yes I openly admit I enjoyed 007: Everything or Nothing on original Xbox. Look it up. You know what? Just give the license to Naughty Dog please.

@22 You're not the only one. I own it for GameCube and its a phenomenal game. I am with you on the Naughty Dog (except that they seem to only work on Playstation).

Why the hell does Eurocom like to replace the bond actor for these new Bond games, Just put Roger Moore in for the Moonraker story not Daniel Craig.

Am I missing where this game suppossedly looks like crap? It looks fine. It's possible that they're going for a more stylized look to capture the "spirit" of these original movies instead of directly copying them. Considering most of those old Bond movies don't look so hot nowadays, that's probably a smart move

@24 I'm pretty sure it has something to do with licensing rights. That's the reason it was Craig over Brosnan for Goldeneye Reloaded too.

@#20: When I got my full 1000 in Q0S, I was really sad. I was hoping and praying for more DLC but I guess it didn't sell that well? But you are right...Treyarch is way too big and sucking Activision's d*ck for more CoDs that they won't even glance at 007.

@#22: I would love for someone to make it third person. I would love some stealth segments like Splinter Cell combined with some cover based shooting like Gears, throw in some gadgets and vehicle segments...maybe a dash of QoS's multiplayer modes...and then BOOM we have ourselves a decent Bond game.

For all the people who keep saying the graphics suck, so what? Why are you so focused on graphics? I am seriously asking this, I am not being sarcastic.

Yes, Gameplay>Graphics. However, for a full price retail title, this far into the lifecycle of the current generation of consoles, with a major license like Bond, I'd expect that the graphics should be at least average. These look pretty low-end to be honest. We've seen far better looking titles in the last couple of years. I'd just expect more for £40/$60.

But then isn't that par for the course with Activision titles?
