Ever since Ryu threw his first hadoken across an arcade cabinet screen, Street Fighter has been indelibly ingrained in video game culture, and to celebrate the seminal fighting series' 25th anniversary, Capcom has today announced the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector's Set, which is chockful of SF goodness.

There's the set of games themselves (except for the first Street Fighter), a load of DLC, an exclusive video, artwork, collectibles, an 11-disc soundtrack and a Ryu statue all crammed into one box. Here's the contents and details:

  • Past and Present Street Fighter Games – Playable on current gen PS3 and Xbox 360 console systems, the four critically-acclaimed titles selected from the star-studded catalog are: Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, Street Fighter III 3rd Strike Online Edition, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition with all costume DLC, and Street Fighter X Tekken including all character and Swap Costume DLC.
  • Exclusive Video – The two-disc Blu-Ray set includes a documentary that highlights the profound influence the franchise has had on fans - and vice versa - throughout the years. The collection of videos also includes Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighter IV Anime movies as well as all episodes of the Street Fighter animated series and Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie.
  • Light-up Ryu Statue – A specially commissioned and highly-detailed collectable Ryu statue stands prominently at 8” tall and features the iconic character in mid-Shoryuken, with flames lit from below.
  • 11-Disc Soundtrack – Street Fighter game music spanning the past 25 years, in addition to remixes and fan-created music inspired by past Street Fighter games.
  • 64-page Hardcover Art Book – A tribute to Street Fighter game fans from all over the world, the art book includes fan pieces submitted by professional and aspiring artists alike.
  • Ryu’s Belt – Created to regulation specs, the full-size martial arts black belt is a replica of the one Ryu wears and even includes his classic "Fürinkazan" in kanji!
  • Certificate of Authenticity – Each Collector’s Set comes individually numbered complete with a certificate of authenticity.

Between July and December, Capcom will also be running a global Street Fighter 25th anniversary tournament, to celebrate the big event, with a prize fund of half a million dollars.

Meanwhile, the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector's Set has currently been confirmed only for North America with a September 18th, 2012 release date and a price tag of $149.99. Check it out in the images below.

So, they're celebrating the anniversay of the first game, but not including it. That's like celebrating the anniversay of your parents' wedding after they're divorced. Ryu statue looks oil though.

Where are the Street Fighter EX games?
If its a collection for 25 years it should have been complete, even with the Super Puzzle Fighter.

lol!! I like how it says Street Fighter X tekken "including" all DLC lol...
Knowing Capcom, you'll end up getting the collector's box, opening it up, only to find a receipt saying
"the contents of the collectors edition is locked, please take the receipt to your local store where we will charge you an extra $100 for the actual content!!"

Anymore info on the set Richard?
When they say all dlc content for Street Fighter x Tekken does that include the $20 character dlc for Blanka, Jack, Lei, Bryan Fury, etc?

Will the blu-rays be included with the 360 version of this set?

Also are the soundtrack discs going to be loose/sloted into the box like that? I guess if its felt lined or something that wouldn't be too bad.

I have to say that $150 isn't a bad price. Sure you may be able to get the games alone for a cheaper price but to throw in the soundtracks, that Ryu statue, art book and the blu rays...very tempting.

My friends already have every game in this collection but I already know they're going to spend their money on this.

Though, I have to say, $150 isn't that bad. But it should include the original Street Fighter. And the live action movie.

A xbla version of original should be done for this box at least. Calling it a 25th anniversary without the game the anniversary is celebrating is a bit of an oversight.

And cmon, if they had the original half of you bitching about it prolly wouldnt play it but once or twice. That game was ass.

@30 You sir, are an ignorant twat.
The article states that this collection has only been confirmed for a North American release...the game isn't out until Sept so there is plenty of time to announce a UK release.

As an American I take offense to your generalized comment of fuck americans. Capcom is a company that is making the decision where to market their product.

Stooping to your level FUCK YOU and go brush your teeth, you can use your Austin Powers like grill to kiss my fat arse

Capcom has a video showcasing the 25th anniversary collection and the video does state that this set will include the additional character dlc for Street Fighter x Tekken.

Compare that to $60 for the game and $20 for the extra fighters and this collection keeps looking better. i guess this is the "ultimate" edition Capcom said would never happen for SF x Tekken.

awesome set.
Shame all the SF games included are either on XBLA or retail already. Would of been nice to maybe have some previously unreleased SF games on Xbox rather than the ones most SF fans will already own.
And since it will have to have achievements they could of shoved them all onto 1 disc like the Megadrive collection and just have 1 bundle of achievements rather than it all being individually.
Would of been kool.

Apart from that it looks awesome and if I could afford it and didnt own the games I'd buy it.

Would be good to see it done with Resi but itd just end up being Resi CV, Resi 4, Resi 5 and ORC which apart from CV I own and thats cause I havent got room on my HD to buy CV at min.

Awesome set for hardcore fans or people that havent got the games because the cost of the games alone wont be too far off the price for the collection.

To be honest they should have included every Street Fighter ... including number 2 and all its variations, the Alphas and the EX's. Even the dodgy game of the movie version.
Maybe even one of those hacked versions I used to see in some arcades of SF2 with the spinning double fireballs and teleporting characters!

@55 "Everyone wanting sf1 on here most likely never played it, and would say its shit and bitch about it being in this edition if it was after the release."

Exactly. I doubt even a tenth of the people saying it should be included have played it. There's a reason they've never re-released, ported, remade, or remastered it. The games was ass. And they don't want people to remember/realize how bad it was.

Nah I bet loads of people played it and as for no ports it was in the arcades then ported to C64, Amstrad, Spectrum, Amiga, many others I'm pretty sure the Atari ST had it and then later on PS2 on the Capcom Classics 2 disc as well as being easily emulated with Mame, it's hardly a rare game that most people wouldn't have played, especially after playing all the others lol
