Industry CVs Fuel Hopes for Mirror's Edge 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 3

Some more LinkedIn profile action for you, following news of Saints Row 4 earlier today. References to Battlefield: Bad Company 3 and Mirror’s Edge 2 have been found on the business networking site, suggesting that work on the titles has taken place. 

It should be noted, however, that all mentions of the two games come from developers who are no longer working on the projects. What that means is there’s no evidence here to suggest the titles will ever see the light of day.

Michael Joseph C’s LinkedIn profile says that he “provided video game prototype, design and demo feedback on various AAA titles including the Battlefield: Bad Company 3, Dead Space 2, Devil May Cry 5 and other unannounced titles”, between 2009 and 2011.

Another profile from an ex-EA employee also states that the Software Engineer worked on Mirror’s Edge 2 in 2009, helping to create “the wandering of crowd system within Unreal3 engine”.

Furthermore, yet another ex-employee says that he worked on “new gadgets and interactive features,” “leaderboards” and a “mini-game embedded into mirror’s edge game story,” for a sequel to the free-running original.

While exciting - we love a bit of Mirror’s Edge - it's worth reaffirming that this information should not be taken as the leak for a forthcoming announcement. EA's European Senior Vice President, Patrick Söderlund did say last year that they're "working on something" Mirror's Edge related, but he kept it deliberately vague.

As for Battlefield: Bad Company 3, well, we'll have to see. Keep your fingers crossed for an E3 reveal of both.

BF: BC3 please! Im sorry, but BF3 was half the game BF: BC2 was, less 2.0 destruction for better graphics.

Gameplay and uber destruction over graphics please DICE.

I believe EA stated that they planned to rotate Battlefield games and Medal of Honor games, if they stick to this plan it would seem like.....

2011 = Battlefield 3
2012 = Medal of Honor Warfighter
2013 = Battlefield: Bad Company 3
and so on..

I would like to see mirror's edge 2 be made. Mirror's edge is just so different to other games out there and to be honest I think that's what the gaming industry needs.

Realistically, as long as any game makes money (I.e COD, Battlefield, FIFA) they will crank more of them out. Who wouldn't?

Bad company 2 was amazing for sp and mp, Bf3 was a sack of shit sp that was so poorly scripted with never ending qtes, I only completed it for the trophies, I hated every second of bf3 campaign. The improved graphics and destruction was in the shade by how shit sp was.

Mp was amazing though though it was basically what bad company 1+2 was with better graphics

BC series in my opinion was better than BF series.

@1 Sp was fine, MP is where it was at.

Michael Joseph C’s LinkedIn profile where he says he provided help for Battlefield BC: 3 between now and 2009 i think just meant about battlefield 3, many of these people always get silly things like the name wrong, I doubt DICE would be working on BFBC:3 as early as 2009.

oh and i see II KaotiK on comment #4 is back and signing his comments, havent seen him in a while haha.

The comedy was the only major selling point of BC that differentiated in from BF3. BC was a testbed for FROSTBITE engine.

Mirrors Edge was an awesome "newish" IP that i wish they would expand on.

Mirrors Edge 2 will be the best announcement i have heard in the last years ... (if will ever be announced).

I am so in love with this game.
So fresh and original that is a category by itself and is time to get a second game for this category/genre just to make the list .... longer :-)

Please no more BC. Mirror's Edge would be nice though. But Dead Space 3 would be far more appreciated than another Bad Company or Mirrors Edge

another Mirror's Edge would be awesome! particularly if they properly smooth out the free running, was a bit hit n miss sometimes! the misses usually resulting in falling to your death

At the risk of being called a noob, i thought BattleField 3 was the sequel to BattleField Bad Company 2. I never saw any games for Battlefield 1 and 2.
