| @1 By which you mean annual releases? Halo has been being released annually for the last 4 years now with ODST, Reach, Anniversary and now Halo 4. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Halo 2 remake next year as well, followed by a Halo 5 launch on the next gen Xbox in 2014. |

@7 You can't really count Anniversary as it was Halo 1 Re-Textured made by another Studio, so not really a new game. It would be like saying that Resident Evil worked too fast last year with 4 releases. The HD's were just Retextures, Mercenaries was a side project taken by another team within Capcom and Revelations was their major project.. And 4 is a major project by 343. CEA was a lesser priority. CEA was just released for 10 Years. I think ODST was just a little side project too. With Reach being the main project. CoD releases a 'major' title every year. Anyway, let's see how Halo 4 turns out first. tell me in 99' that Crash bandicoot had another 10 years to go, I would have been thrilled. Now i'm disgusted with what it has become. 343 Seem to be doing good so far. I just hope they hold it up. |

| @11 True the only 'major' titles since Halo 3 have been Reach and now Halo 4 so it does seem less milked than CoD is but I'm still concerned that the Halo franchise will suffer creatively if they continue being released every year. |

@5 So what do you mean? Remove armor abilities? Change the weapon stats? Guess I've listed all the changes. I like Halo3 and Reach but its not like they are completely different games. In fact I think probably except armor abilities, they are nearly the same game with different graphics and weapon stats, so if you want a game without armor abilities and Halo3 Stats, why don't you fucking play Halo3? |

Its good to know they have a clear idea with what they want to do with the franchise. I think the previous trilogy was a little OTT story wise, i didn't have a clue what was going on in either halo2 or 3 until i played through them a second time. I really do have faith halo is in the right hands, roll on november. |

@7 there is more to 'The COD Route' than just releasing every year, its releasing what is nearly the same game each year with next to no changes or or improvements. Of all the Halo games you mentioned, they all have there own I.D, style of play. ODST: is Kinda Halo goes Call Of Duty. Halo reach: The armour abilities changed the game up alot, some think for the better some for the worse but it changed it. Halo An: was a re-release of an old classic and not technically a new game. Halo 4: well I don't now but I'm guessing it will be different from all the others and will have 343 unique touch rather than bungies touch which almost garentees a difference in itself. |

| I don't mind this as long as it's not every year like some franchises, a game every year does not give enough development time, even if you say a one section of the studios working on it 1 year before the current game comes out giving it 2 year. But really that isn't really long enough, I remeber some game's having 3-4 years between release(in a franchise). |

With hope, they won't go the whole Mass effect 3 route and just leave a bad taste in people mouths for the sake of DLC and Sequels to the games! Because while Mass Effect was a great game in itself, it was also multiplatform, so the hatred was shared across several platforms. Halo is a FLAGSHIP series, one that is tied tightly to the Xbox, and is now being made by an In House publisher for Microsoft. So if THAT doesn't sit pretty, Microsoft is going to have some very rough years ahead! |

| @13 They weren't the only changes. There were tweaks with quite a lot of things, and the fact that Reach was supposed to be a prequel doesn't make sense if they have armour abilities and jetpacks etc. when they don't exist in any other Halo game. I preferred playing Halo 3 online than Reach, so yes, I will "fucking play Halo 3", thanks. |

Its just getting old seeing them bleed Halo dry. Its getting about as bad a COD every year. Whats bad is im buying a PS3 just to play there exclusives, and i really dont wanna do that cuz im elbows deep dedicated to M$ sitting at almost 170,000g. See and whats sad is id never buy a 360 just for its 2 main exlusives Halo and Gears if i were a PS3 owner. but my rant is over so shower me with thumbs down now Halo Universe! |

@22 I didn't thumbs down you for being different, just for being wrong. I mean infamous or god of war over halo or gears? Are you kidding? I have both consoles and own all 4 said games. And i can tell you the xbox exclusives mentioned above are a far more polished package than any of the games you mentioned. You also mention you are not a PS3 owner, so how can you say one title is better than another when the probability is you haven't played said PS3 titles? I used to think the grass is greener before i owned a PS3, trust me it really isn't, i only use my PS3 for fighting games because of it's more responsive D-pad. Thats it. |

| So burnt out on Halo. Halo 3 was great but they had to cram in ODST which killed my yearning for the next (not even gonna talk about halo wars). when i got reach i left it sealed & backlogged for almost a year. completely missed anniversary & now 4 is almost here? It may not be with the frequency of COD but it is about 1 a year & they do charge just as much as maps. |

@7 - Perhaps you dont' realize or don't know that Bungie wanted to finish their contract with Microsoft because: 1.- since Microsoft owns the Intellectual Property (IP) for the Halo franchise, every new Halo game would just add up to a canon that doesn't belong to them (and then, to a bank account that isn't theirs either. Because all the money from toys, clothing, dvd's, a potential film etc. derived from that canon is Microsoft money) 2.- they wanted to explore/develop new IP, meaning new games, and Microsoft would always be like "that is a good idea, but why don't you just make a new Halo game? it'll be a success for sure" That's why they put out ODST and Reach so close to each other: to finish their deal with Microsoft and be free. About CEA: they put it out on 2011 because it was the 10th Anniversary of the game (was released on 2001) About "Halo 2 Anniversary": if they ever put it out, it would be on 2014, because the original was released on 2004. My bet is that the readiness of the next Xbox will determine this, and my prediction is that there will NEVER be a "Halo 3 Anniversary", because this one was released already on Xbox 360 and not the original Xbox like Halo CE and Halo 2 did. About Halo 5: my wish is that they take 3 to 4 years to develop and launch it, so, 2015/16 will be fine with me. Personally I have the perception of Microsoft being greedy as hell, but with what I've seen so far of H4...I gotta give props to them. I see love and devotion instead of greed in every little thing (which is a major thing actually) I get to know, like the music samples, the real gunshots audio recordings, the amount of detail on environments and the beautiful look of them... There are only 2 things I haven't liked so far: the unlockable weapons (for what I've known the BR will be an unlockable weapon on Multiplayer), and the fact they haven't announced the different editions there'll be (I want a poster of the cover art so badly!). @19 - you don't have armor abilities on CE because the UNSC personnel that is in this game is just a tiny fraction of the whole military "population" (I dont' know how to put it). You don't see armor habilities on the next Halos because that equipment stayed and was lost on Reach (and also, there are no more Spartans) |

November the 6th can't come quick enough for me, and hearing that the future of Halo is looking bright warms my heart. I've not played my 360 since Feb due to buying and enjoying the ps3. But nothing compares to the majesty of Halo... cod,bf,killzone, resistance all pale in comparison. #31 no more spartans ? you sure, halo 4s multiplayer sticks with the traditional red vs blue spartans, so surely they must tie in with the campaign and story arch somehow. |

| @21 master chief, the spartan of halo 1, 2 and 3 is a spartan II and he is part of the strongest class of spartan (in reach, Jorge is a spartan II and in the game he does not have armor abilities) in reach, all members excluding Jorge are spartan III a different proyect of super soldier but weaker, (because of that they have the armor abilities) and in halo 4 we will use again a spartan II in campaign and in multiplayer a Spartan IV and maybe use the abilities in it |

didnt they say last year that they want to keep the next halo trilogy on one console. well how are they going to keep the whole next halo trilogy on one console when they have 10 years of halo planned out but a new xbox coming in the next couple of years. even if they brought out halo 4,5 and 6 out the next year the released the last they are highly unlikely to get halo 6 on 360. i might be wrong and feel free to correct me if i am wrong but this is what i read or heard somewhere |

| I'm a really big fan of the Halo series, I've been playing since day one of the original xbox's release. But this whole "next ten years" idea sounds entirely too rooted in business and not enough actual creative integrity or actual inspiration. I'm sure they'll be great games, and it's fine if they want to plan incredibly far ahead, but do us consumers a favor, at least try and pretend that it's not ALL about the money. Obviously it's a business and that's always the priority in the end, but you know what I mean. |

@33 Well, in H4 there's this UNSC ship Infinity which we don't know much about so far. I know NEW Spartans will be trained on this ship: on the Limited Edition of H4 we'll get to know more about this gigantic ship. I meant Spartans prior to H4. @34 Yes you're right, I forgot about Jun, chances are he's still alive; we know Dra. Halsey is alive due to that slip-space bubble she and some more humans got themselves into, just before the glassing of Reach. Whether Jun sticked with her all the way through, I don't know; he might just do that, or decided to come back and get 6 after leaving Halsey and got killed on his way... |

| Wow that's got to be a record, cod brought up in the first post on a not-cod article. The fact is, everyone bitches about the cod series for releasing the same game every year. I like cod, and I won't dispute the fact that the games are very similar. But the fact is, Activision is out to make money, just like every other game publisher. Activision breaks their own record every year by releasing a very similar game to the last. To me, that means cod has lasting appeal, that people will continue playing a very similar controlling game over and over. People get mad at Activision, but the fact that they sell so many games, in their eyes and the eyes of the industry, they are the most successful. No one went and got all pissy when bugie released the Halo remake. I am more pissed about that than cod. The Halo remake costed $50! The work required to make the remake is way less than creating a whole new game. |

| Also, arent they jumping the gun a little? This is a whole new company rebooting the series. What if this first game sucks? If I were 343, I would put more effort into this first game and less into planning sequels that, for all they know, wont get made if they fail on Halo 4. |

Ten year plan for Halo...? Have we really come to the point where franchises just live on forever, routinely raking in cash because of an ever-recognizable brand name? How are so many people in the video game industry completely losing artistic integrity, mucking up a series legacy by tacking on endless sequels? You can still make money trying something new, it just has to be good; I'll bet that Bungie's next IP will be a greater success than the future Halo games. Anyway, to add to the side conversation, if I could do it all over again, I would probably go with a PS3 over an Xbox 360. Right now I'm actually just playing a lot of RTS games on my laptop; I'd sell my 360, but I'm keeping it for Gears and Alan Wake. I can't afford a PS3 so I'm also keeping it for RDR and LA Noire. But Infamous, God of War, Uncharted, Heavy Rain, Heavenly Sword, Metal Gear Solid 4, The Last of Us, Agent, even Afrika, plus non-exclusives...I guess you want what you can't have. Gears 1 and Alan Wake were released on the PC anyway, so based on what I like and don't like, it would seem that the number one thing the Xbox has going for it at this point in the console wars is its controller. |
