X360A Review: Max Payne 3

It's been almost a decade since we last saw Max Payne, and a hell of a lot has changed in the time since Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne launched way back in 2003. You can always count on Max's slow-motion shootdodge and Bullet Time though, and in that respect, Max Payne 3 stays true to its roots.
But with original developer Remedy taking a backseat to Rockstar Games' vision, is Max Payne 3 in safe hands? How has Rockstar turned its expertise to crafting a linear story-driven game with a history of open-world titles? And where does the narrative take Max? Can it possibly get any darker? What of multiplayer, dammit?! Does it work?!
