| @#1 - Why would a game developer care about people who buy used games? They don't line their pockets with money, so it's not like they're angering their customers. They're angering Gamestop's customers and Gamestop themselves. |

| kool interview. i really like crysis 1 for its open sandbox play, i enjoyed crysis 2 just wish it was more free roaming instead of just going thru a level. 3 look really good. like webb pointed out you have to take the best of the 2 and see where you can improve and add but at the same time stick to the roots. |

| @4 Pingers served as bosses, and the cloaking enemies at the end served as the 'final boss'. It wasn't extremely high quality in terms of boss fights, but they were still rather challenging. I have some bad memories of Super Soldier. |

| I really enjoyed Crysis 2 although the multiplayer felt a bit limited because of the current-gen consoles. I'm looking forward to Crysis 3 but I think it should have been released for the next-gen consoles in order to get the full experience. |

| @#9 - Oh, I know that, but I'm just saying why would he care about what the consumer who buys used games think or feel? They don't fund what he does or the games industry, so whether they're up in arms or what not doesn't matter, as it won't affect the money they make or units they sell. |

| @10.. Of course they fund what he does, indirectly I grant you, but its undeniable. Firstly, online passes (required to play a lot of used games)bought with msp fund him. Secondly, the shops who sell used games use this money sooner or later to buy more new stock from suppliers. Without the additional funding from used sales, high street retailers couldnt risk buying as much stock. Also you forget that ppl trade games to buy new games, without this option, many would not be able to afford to buy new games. |

| @#11 - Well, online passes are a new thing introduced to combat used game sales. Secondly, that's just an assumption; for example, used game sales didn't help keep GAME afloat in the UK - they still needed bailing out. Sales forecasts, pre-orders, actual game sales and what not are used as gauges as to how much stock a store orders/buys in. On your logic, retailers who don't do a pre-owned service would all have gone bust by now. Thirdly, again that's just something that retailers use to excuse the used game market. There's no actual proof of that, it's just a PR line from a company looking after their own interests. I think you'll probably find that people that trade in games, actually buy other pre-owned games. You could argue though that people that trade in games may buy other new games, but they stop other people buying games new because people then can buy the game they traded in as used. It's a headfuck if ever there was one =P Like you what you said though, that's my assumption. Why do you think there's a rush for the industry to go digital? So the pre-owned market gets even smaller. |

Blah, blah, blah... Seeing how "well" they supported Crysis 2, I don't think anything they say will sway me into buying the third game, at least on launch. Too many problems, too little response. |

Web...High street retailers wouldnt have all gone bust on my logic because I didnt claim that this is the ONLY way they make money, just that it grants them additional capital to purchase more stock, ie more than they wouldve bought otherwise. The things you say dictate the number of games a retailer buys may be accurate, but they are completely irrelevant if they dont have the money to buy them in the 1st place. Who knows, maybe game wouldve gone under much sooner without sales of used games. I dont remember the developer (may have been guys who made Syndicate) but I read an article on here with a dev claiming that Games demise effected sales of their game. We agree that used game sales suport High Street retailers... I think, so if a Dev is accurate in its claim that sales were effected by the closure of such a store, thats further proof that used games (although perhaps tenuously in this case) result in new game sales. Lastly, thank God, Ppl definitely do trade to buy new new, Ive seen countless posts on this website of ppl mentioning trading in games to get new releases, eg 'game x is shit Im gonna trade it when game y comes out'. The games they trade dont necessarily stop ppl buying new games. If I go to buy a new Sniper Elite v2, I dont change my mind once I get in the store because someone trade Truth or Lies a year ago and its only 50p. The fact is that a lot of people buy used because they cant afford new, so they have no negative impact on new games sales, for them its used or not at all, I fail to see how a dev is missing out on cash in that scenario. Whatever the truth may be, I would hate to see digital only games, give me a box with a game in and Im happy |

*Reads Webb's posts* *Nods in agreement* Pre-owned games are insidious to this industry. If people want to cry moar about shit games, then do some research first & but a select few. Some gamers today feel that it is their right to play every game out there by the sounds of it... you GS whores:P |

@24 by your logic of not playing all/most games, only AAA titles from already established developers would succeed. (And COD) While new/indy Devs would have next to a snowballs chance in hell. And plus on used sales, what about independent stores? The ones near me on on a 5-1 ratio of used to new, you tell me honestly that they would be able to survive without the allowing of used sales. I've grown to accept the Online pass, since if there is a game that I really want I buy it new day one anyway, but blocking used sales altogether is just plain short sighted, as lets say you buy a game we'll call it 'Game A' you play it and finish it within one week, while you used to be able sell 'Game A' for about £30, and put that towards your next purchase your stuck with it even if you have no intention of playing it again. Now you buy 'Game B' which you play and complete but you like the MP in this game, but you grow tired of it after about a month, not only are you stuck with a game you don't want, the Devs are missing out on a potential DLC sale, while if you were to sell it the second owner could be a potential DLC buyer. And if this was to happen I'm not even going to say how bad it would effect the Renting companies, as I'm sure you can work it out for yourself. (sorry for my bad english) |

I'm with you Webb, buying used game sucks, that's why I don't have a single one LOL Nor do I sell my games and if making a law that forbids second hand market woudl help devs I would up for it. Not everyone might be able to afford brand new game right off the bat and I tend to wait a month or two until game drop to 2/3 or half the price before buying, but I will never feed a store that rips of customer. It's no different than used car sale in this regard, but breaking factor is not everyone can afford $10K to pay for shitty car, not to mention better models. With games we don't have that problem=) I need to get new PC before this comes out. Second one looked unreal, so can't imagine how this can look any better LOL |

Some of you are mentally retarded. Especially you, Webb. I thought somebody who "works" in the industry would know better. Banning used game sales is the stupidest fucking thing I have ever heard of, in my life. It's a blatant cash grab by these greedy fucks, because they know they can get away with it. What, you honestly expect me to believe that they're losing (a significant amount of) money? The Witcher 2 got pirated like a motherfucker, and Red STILL gave everyone free DLC. You know how they SHOULD be trying to curb used game sales? By making a quality fucking product in the first goddamn place. If they make a good game, you'll have no reason to trade it in. If it's good enough, you won't mind paying full price for it, because you know you're getting your moneys worth. |
