Risen 2: Dark Waters August Release Date and 'Air Temple' Episode Revealed

Originally scheduled to launch this May, Deep Silver has today announced that Risen 2: Dark Watters will now be walking the plank this August instead, with additional content in the shape of the 'Air Temple' episode that'll add an several hours of additional gameplay to Risen 2.

Air Temple offers a sub-plot in which Risen 2's hero embarks upon a quest to discover a lost temple that happens to be the source of air magic (obvious really, given the name). Hearing rumours that an old acquaintance named Eldric has been sighted in Antigua, Risen 2's pirate hero must pick up his trail to find Storm Island, where he'll find the legendary Air Temple itself.

Risen 2: Dark Waters will now be hitting consoles on August 3rd, 2012 with its additional Air Temple episode, a screenshot of which you can have a look at below. It's got a weird dragon man with an axe in it.

Wise move. Dragon's Dogma was to be released on the same day as this and extra content will always be welcome.

@1 Agree. The Witcher now & Max Payne next month so do not mind waiting until August for this especially with additional content

Wow August 2012 become popular now then any August in past!!

August 2012 will see lots of AAA titles:

Sleeping Dogs
Darksiders 2
Metro: Last Light
Risen 2: Dark Waters
Sniper 2: Ghost Warrior

Last year August only saw and released 2 AAA titles is Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Xenoblade Chronicles. Almost August got 2 or 1 or nothing AAA titles come out so 2012 got load!!

But again one or 2 of 5 AAA titles in August 2012 will delay. Fingercross not happens because then August 2012 will be very history then any August in past for videogame releases. :)

Yes The Witcher 2 will have DLC content upcoming later months and yeah Dragon's Dogma come out same day as Risen 2 on 25th May this why Deep Silver make sense that want release Risen 2 into August and allow devs extra time polish and add more stuffs. Also Deep Silver leave Capcom's Dragon's Dogma to be alone RPG on 25th May. :)

Also Deep Silver know Risen 2 maybe not good selling if release same day as Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and DiRT Showdown and maybe Dragon's Dogma selling fantastic because of Resident Evil 6 demo inside game case so possible.

So yeah May 2012 got load of games. So why not August have more so yeah hehehe

Oh I forget add one more AAA title in August this year is Transformers: Fall of Cyberton!!!!

I dont think you know what a AAA title is do you?

Of all the Titles you mentioned, I'd only class Darksiders and Transformers as AAA titles.

But I do agree that august looks to be seeing much more action than usual.

Oh well i guess I can go one summer without any sun.

I think they need to hype up this game more.. every article that is posted on here about Risen 2 has only ten comments. So I think its a good thing that they moved it back. They need to hype up this game! I think this game looks pretty sick considering its a pirate RPG

#8 I do know about AAA titles and my opinion to look all those 6 titles and they seem AAA titles for now. Big games on those. :):)

I know lots about games. I been played videogames since I were 5 yrs old (21 years gaming and gamer) :):):) :):)

@#5 I don't think you totally understand concept of AAA titles.. Seriously Risen 2 and Sniper 2. I had to LOL. The other 3 maybe, but we shall see. I already have darksiders preordered though and I know I will love it!

OT: yeah, I was alos looking for some twist where maybe air temple would be about fire magic=P
