Woow.Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 05:56 AM
Does that include New Zealand and Australia? .. or just UKTuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 05:57 AM
Whoo hoo! Finally something for the UK! America always gets all the good collector's editions when europe doesn't get squat. Blessed be this weekend!Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 05:57 AM
Nice!Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 05:58 AM
Great!Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 06:09 AM
@3 It's great that they think outside the US, but still there is more to the world then just the US and the UK :pTuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 06:13 AM
Great news.Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 06:15 AM
Great news for Uk ;-)Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 06:25 AM
@2 Been a while since N.Z. and Australia have been classed as part of the UK... Good news for us in the UK though for a change :DTuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 06:25 AM
Shame not all are available for the countries in Europe. But still a sweet offer.Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 06:28 AM
@3 While I agree that America does get some good CE,you will be able to buy one that I sadly cannot. Its the CE of AC3 :(Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 06:44 AM
@6 not really.Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 07:06 AM
@3 UK gets plenty of CE's we don't get here in the U.S. And you got the Easter sale which I totally wish we got.Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 07:10 AM
I'm gold... but don't have sky, Will I be able to watch sky this weekend? :/Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 07:26 AM
UK only? Lame. I wish you'd included that in the headline.Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 07:27 AM
@13 But Americans got the good collector's edition for Assassin's Creed: Revelations at Gamestop.Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 07:35 AM
I'm soon to run out of gold so this news is good!Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 07:35 AM
Wow all the free to watch stuff on the internet is now free to watch on live, for this weekend only. Amazing stuff.Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 07:46 AM
Now when they say UK, is this like Belgium too, or don't we get this (again)?Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 07:49 AM
@13 But you get Black Friday, we don't get anything even close to that.Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 07:51 AM
@19 Well answer yourself this question. Is Belgium in the UK? There's your answer champ.Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 07:55 AM
Can we just agree that America have the better advantages than the UK ones? I'm from U.K and I know for a FACT that America get the best of things such as; Release Dates, Game Prices etc... OT: I don't think that releasing the Apps for a weekend would bribe people to buy Gold BUT I reckon if they added that thing where Multiplayer is unlocked for a weekend then that would surely boost up the sales but thats my two cents. /Awaits thumbs-down for no particular reasonTuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 08:19 AM
@22 Yep, i don't see why people complain so much. Microsoft is a company that started on American soil and branched out. obviously they are going to cater to us North Americans most of the time. funny thing is i honestly don't see people complaining when Sony does it with japan. or do they? maybe i'm wrong. anyways it would be nice if they did it for everyone in Europe and not just the UK like they always do....Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 08:22 AM
You get nothing new then if your gold.Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 08:24 AM
@24 of course not, they already have our money. Also going by what the next few weeks DOTW's are they really dont want gold members spending less than full price on arcade games.Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 08:33 AM
@ 23 Why the hell should that matter ? We pay the same price as you do to use their services. We should be treated the same I don't give a shit if they started the company in a box in Africa. Pure arrogance to not try to cater to the WHOLE world when we all pay the same.Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 08:37 AM
I didn't say that it mattered, but that's just the way it is. what are you going to try to do about it to change things?Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 08:45 AM
you should be able to use them when you have silver membership anywayTuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 08:46 AM
Does anybody know what the next bunch of apps coming are ? I pretty much only use the sky app,it would be nice to get something else useful.Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 08:54 AM
So I guess this means Xbox Live entertainment apps WON'T be unlocked for all this weekend, does it?Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 08:58 AM
@20: And to think, we would never have had a Black Friday without the Pilgrims leaving England. At the very least, you all should get some of our great after-Thanksgiving sales! :)Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 09:20 AM
Time to make a UK acount.Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 09:23 AM
@19 You make Belgians look stupid. I sure hope you're a Walloon.Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 09:26 AM
@26 Actually the UK pays more for Gold than almost anywhere else in the world, the US has the cheapest subscription and also gets the most from the service, though we are catching up with things like the TV Catch-Up channels (BBC iPlayer, 4oD ect), but these are things that are free on all other devices, in fact the only thing we get exclusively that isn't free somewhere else is Sky, and we have to pay additional fees for that on top of the Gold Subscriptions.Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 09:45 AM
@16 Oh, didn't know we were getting a cool version. Don't play the AC games really. @20 True that...I don't want to wait til then for the Arkham City bundle to be half off though :pTuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 09:51 AM
Cool.. this makes the silver UK account I made for the Mt. Fuji DLC in SSX even more worth it =DTuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 10:11 AM
Should just say applications unlocked for silvers tbh i was thinking free tv on xbox O.o then i realised its just all normal apps we got are now available to silver members blah. Well nice one you silver people :) least you all got something to do if you dnt wnna play on any games an juss wnna chillax xDTuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 10:59 AM
I love it when beggars become choosers. You are getting something for free and still complaining..... Kudos to Microsoft. I'd like to think that if this were successful and they saw an incline in gold subscriptions, they will go region to region.Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 11:10 AM
Lol, does this mean the Jones vs Evans fight is free this weekend?....I wishTuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 11:26 AM
Who cares?Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 11:33 AM
i think it's about time these events started being worldwide (marketplace existence permitting) in fact i think it's time to bring an end to region specific anything (that includes you region locked games, you bastard sons of whores), it leads to quite a few trolls, and some bitching amongst the supposed community great that it's not a US only, but still, as others said, there are more countries in the world than just us who speak english be time to load forza up on my other profile and see if turn10 sent me any cars (redeemed VIP pass on wrong account xD - also, might try to cram in some gaming & telly watching, see if i can get the 3 play bonus for that account too)Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 12:03 PM
things like lovefilm and netflix that you pay a subscription for should realy be accessable by all, not just gold membersTuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 01:35 PM
none of this crap is better than an actual sky box with 900 channelsTuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 02:27 PM
I would love to have the BBC here in the states. Most if not all the programs aired on the network are better than the crap here.Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 03:08 PM
Does North Korea get the apps too??Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 04:24 PM
I'm guessing Sweden gets shafted as usual?Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 06:00 PM
So all of the free apps are well...free? If ALL of the sky channels are free for the weekend I'll be happy. Already have a netflix and lovefilm account. And twitter and Facebook you don't have to pay for anyway. Therefore makes this irrelevant.Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 06:02 PM
Hopefully they unlock it all fully for everybody on those days. I'm one of the unlucky Americans who got fucked over by HBO and ESPN because I have Cablevision, and the aforementioned channels hate Cablevision, so it'll be nice to be able to access the otherwise inaccessible channels, if only for a weekend. Don't mean nothing but a good time.Tuesday, April 17, 2012 @ 10:51 PM
just buy gold and have them all year long : ) with the internet you can buy games from all over the worldWednesday, April 18, 2012 @ 10:12 PM
if bbc were available here, i'd be so for it! love bbca channel ... otherwise, this is ok...Saturday, April 28, 2012 @ 04:48 PM
where the hell are these apps then its been a week nd nothings available
Tuesday, April 17, 2012
