Codemasters has today confirmed ambitious expansion plans that'll see 125 UK jobs being created in Warwickshire and in Birmingham, where the developer's flagship racing studio responsible for the likes of DiRT and the F1 series is situated.

The majority of the positions will be opening up at Codies' Warwickshire studio, whereas 25 of the jobs will be based at the company's Birmingham offices.

"The success of our recent games and our plans for the future mean that Codemasters will continue to see growth as we expand our teams here in the Midlands," Talent Acquisition Manager, Simon Miles told Develop. "The skilled talent pool in Birmingham, along with the support available for developers in the area and across the Midlands generally, has created a dynamic and creative local business community.

"We're looking to recruit staff from across the region as well as enticing some new employees into the city."

Next up for Codemasters is DiRT Showdown and F1 2012. Check out our DiRT video feature for more.

Nice to see a happy story for the Gaming industry, makes a change. Hopefully the majority of developer closures and Game store closures are over for the foreseeable future.

I could have sworn they only recently laid off some staff. Still, it's good to see the UK industry thriving.

Good luck enticing anyone to Birmingham...place is a shithole...only reason to go there is the quality curried goat.
Still good to see games companies expanding despite economic turmoil.

Given how many devs have lost their jobs ion recent months, they'll doubtless be beating applicants away with sticks.
