Team17 Announces Worms Revolution

Worms Revolution

It looks like the worm has turned for Team17, who after 17 years of Worms titles are preparing for a Worms Revolution later this year, boasting a brand new game engine, complete with lovely new liquid effects and other little visual flourishes.

"Team17 is proud to announce the forthcoming release of Worms Revolution," reads the PR blurb. "The game has been developed from the ground up and features a completely new game-engine. Exciting new features and challenges have been introduced whilst old favourites such as the Super Sheep and Holy Hand Grenade remain to thrill fans worldwide."

Watch the 30-second trailer below for your first look at Worms Revolution, which is scheduled to come to "consoles" in Q3 2012.

	I love Worms games. One can always look forward to some great multiplayer action in a Worms game. I look forward to this, but here's to hoping it bests the excellent Worms: Armageddon, which is in my opinion the best Worms game thus far.

	2.5D eh. Perfect. I hated the 3D Worms games. Worms is just one of those games that is better suited to 2D.

	Was always a good drunk party game! I agree with the previous comments about needing to stay to the "side aspect" I will probably get this game.

	Worms series is great. I enjoyed just about every game, even the 3D games. I'm just a little wormed out, especially since the XBLA versions don't shine as brightly as the older PC versions do.

	Wow...that looks amazing =D will be a day one download for me. Played Worms armaggeddon four player for the first time in how long, forgot how fun the games are.

	Team17 makes another Worms game and everyone cheers. Infinity Ward makes another Call of Duty and people complain. Is it really just the annualization of the game and the corporate evil that is Activision? Needless to say, I am getting tired of worms. I guess others get tired of CoD. To each his own I suppose.

	@9 Are you seriously comparing Worms, an XBLA arcade game to COD? You COD boys really are retarded aren't you? OT: I'm really looking forward to this, as everyone else is saying, 2.5D is fantastic, never really enjoyed the 3D worms games so this is perfect.

	As long as they keep the same physics i am sold! Love Team 17's work. I need to play worms more often. I should play it more often. One note though. Don't release crazily high priced dlc for this game.

	Damn it, I just bought Ultimate Mayhem, could have wait. Gonna ended up having looots of Worms games in my HDD, but I´m not complaining. This one looks awesome and this time we can FINALLY say, it´s a brand new Worms game. Let´s just hope a right price and not been intoxicated on DLC like the previous ones.

	@24. I'm actually fairy good at FPS's I just despise the CoD franchise. I still play Halo, Valve games, the original Quakes and Dooms, the original MoH games. And if I had 'no friends' why would I be playing Worms you imbecile?

	Jeez, another Worms game? All of the ones they have released so far have less options and features than Worms World Party which I had on PC and Dreamcast circa 2001. After 11 years I expect them to at least make a Worms game of equal quality to WWP. Hell, just give us a straight port of WWP and if you have the time add hats or something. Comparing it to CoD is a little far fetched but if you've been playing the series before X360 you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. Not sure why games these days always have less features than games 10yrs older...the sheer amount of multiplayer options in Perfect Dark are incredible, any other shooter on X360 will let you pick a map, game mode, score/time limits and maybe the weapons that are in the map (if any). Yes, I'm mad.

	Good to see a new worms game, still play armageddon now and again so this might be an instant purchase, would be nice to see hogs of war 2 at some point though :)

	i liked worms 2 armaggedon so im looking foward to this 1 although couldnt see the trailer because it is to advanced for my old laptop
