This Week on the Xbox Live Arcade: Roogoo

This Week on the Xbox Live Arcade: Roogoo
Written Monday, June 02, 2008 by Alan Pettit

This will cost 800 MSP.

Roogoo updates the square peg in a round hole premise to a whole new level. Help the Roogoo defeat their enemies, the evil Meemoo, in Roogoo, a new and innovative action-based puzzler. Players line up multiple platforms on different levels to allow shaped blocks to pass through and once enough of them stack up, that particular shape closes off. A simple premise becomes more complicated as Meemoos begin to obstruct players' paths, and butterflies attempt to steal blocks away. Players must swivel, roll, and boost their way through 45 puzzle-filled levels alone or with up to four friends in cooperative party mode play. For those with a more competitive spirit, Roogoo offers a two-player multiplayer mode over Xbox LIVE® where players battle to solve the same puzzle and can build up attacks to thwart their competitors' efforts.

  • New puzzle mechanic: Roogoo features unique 3-D puzzle mechanics where players guide shaped blocks through rotating disks in order to bring them to the ground for high scores while defeating the evil Meemoo.
  • Gameplay: Race through 45 progressive action-based puzzle-filled levels.
  • Multiplayer mode: The game features robust head-to-head two-player split screen competition over Xbox LIVE for a seriously fun race mode.
  • Attack meter: Race to build up your Attack Meter and place enemy Meemoos on your opponents' disks to give you that extra edge to knock out your competition.
  • Local party play: Play with one to four players in one game to complete any level. Work as a team and as an individual to get the best score.

when are they gonna bring out something good on xbla.
there are loads of classic games they should bring out.
how about megaman, outrun, killer instinct, super contra 3, some of the final fantasy games. and they should fix double dragon cause the one they have out is shit.
why did they have to mess it up so bad

WHY????

Why so many puzzle games? Its called Xbox Arcade not Xbox Puzzle. Puzzle games can be okay sometimes, but there has been like how many come out this year? They don't even need new content and they could still have great games on the marketplace. Some titles that come to mind. Zombie Ate My Neighborers, Narc, More Double Dragon games and so on. To be able to play these games via Xbox Live would be great. Why don't they do this? They already have deals with Konami and Midway.

There was a time once, when i bought a live title every week (almost) - I haven't bought one since Arkadian Warriors - which was a LONG time ago. They need to step their game up on the whole XBLA front

Peace

i'd like some old school console games. i would totally grab any rpg they add to xbox live. there has to be some third party games that have been on sega genesis, super nintendo, nintendo 64 or even playstation that microsoft could get.

i have no interest in these retarded puzzle games. does anyone even buy these?

yup as are most arcade games these days, 800 points is a joke for 90% of the ones in that price range.

Next week: Super I Spy With My Little Eye

Where is my Street Fighter 2 HD Remix dammit! Bionic Commando? Any thing decent?

C' mon Microsoft, you make a big song and dance about 'cleaning up XBLA', getting rid of the chaff, then keep inundating us with puzzle games.

Jeez...

Downloadable content - achievements or no achievements - will you buy it with or without them?
If the content is good, or for a game I love, I'll buy it regardless of whether chievos are included
I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
