Asura's Wrath JP Trailer Showcases Raging DLC

Announced last month, the Asura's Wrath DLC shown in this Japanese trailer kicks off with the Episode 11.5 add-on today, which as the name suggests, bridges the gap between episodes 11 and 12, with a fully animated episode in which Asura battles hordes of Gohma before they can reach a nearby village.

More DLC will be following in April 4th, with Episode 15.5 filling in some additional story between the game's episode 15 and 16, then there's more packs to follow on April 24th and on May 8th. One of these is the Street Fighter DLC that sees Asura taking on Ryu and Akuma.

Finally, there'll be another DLC landing on May 15th, which rounds out the complete content schedule listed in the trailer. Each DLC costs 160 Microsoft Points, except for the one slated for April 24th, which is down for 560 MSP. We can only assume that's the Street Fighter one then. Check out the trailer to see more of Asura's Wrath's forthcoming DLC in action.

You can add Asura's Wrath Episode 11.5 to your download queue here for 160 MSP.

I still can't decide whether to take the plunge with this game or not, I've heard its a major QTE fest, time to try the demo (if there is one).

One good thing about Disc Lock Content is that you barely need any hard drive space for it, say 5 x Asura's Wrath DLC equals 5kB.

Fantastic game, awesome story, and a unique experience, I forced myself to see past the QTE and have not regretted it.

Tried the demo. No invert controls option, Capcom?! Can't hate on that portion of your audience!

I heard good things about Asura's Wrath, but I can't see myself paying full price for it. I realized this after I bought God of War III, that these types of games are extremely short for my level of play.

I want this game, just not for full price...

Also, are the episode 11.5, 15.5 etc DLCs playable or just a really pretty bit of anime narrative?

Episode 11.5 is on LIVE now and it's 1gb, so no disc dlc so far.

Any news on new achievements?

Actually, watching the end of the trailer made me think the 560 is a bundle of chapters from 19-22. The one on May 15th says Vs., so I'm assuming that one is for the SF characters.

Sorry for double post, but Ryu is definitely the 8th and Akuma the 15th if going by the trailer.

Yeah, it looks like the April 24th dlc is a 4 episode continuation of the story. It says 19-22 for 560 points. The game currently has 19 episodes, however the last episode is entitled "True Episode 18" instead of Episode 19. So this seems like story content - hopefully with a better ending :P

Love this game...and at 160 points each, I'm buying this even without achievements. I like seeing PROPERLY priced dlc. $2 is nothing, and even if these episodes are 10 minutes long, it's worth $2.

I just hope they continue to leave room for a sequel. All of the DLC together is 15. Assume the SF fights take place in a standard and Asura style arena. 4 dollars for fifteen to thirty minutes. The interquel DLCs will probably be fifteen minutes a piece, and the 4 pack (if they follow the trend of the later chapters being longer and meatier) will be another hour and change to maybe as much as 2 and 1/2 hours.

Three and a half hours, but like you I don't mind. Every minute with this game was a great one for me, and there are plenty of RPGs as well as other games in different genres coming out that will provide more "traditional value."

If even one of those chapters is like 13, I'll be happy.

Just finished S-ranking Episode 11.5 on all 3 difficulties. It's a fairly short episode (well, half-episode, really), only about 10 minutes long per run. It's entirely based on QTEs, so there are no actual battles to be had, and there's nothing that any player shouldn't be able to handle. However, the art style (thank you, Studio 4C) is beautiful, and being able to fill in the story a bit is definitely worth the $2.

It also appears as if each DLC will add new unlockables to the Extras menu. This one only adds a video; essentially the episode without having to do anything, I would imagine.

Definitely worth it in my books.
