In addition to the explosion of Assassin’s Creed III info, we’ve also got images and details of the game’s three different collectors editions in Europe. There a whole bunch of loveliness headed your way.

First up is The Freedom Edition. This includes:

  • A 24-cm high-quality figurine of Connor
  • A steelbook case art drawn by awards-winning comic artist Alex Ross
  • George Washington's notebook revealing all the truth & secrets about the Assassins and the Templars during the American Revolution.
  • One exclusive Lithograph
  • Lost Mayan Ruins single player mission: Connor's mission leads him in an old Mayan pyramid, full of mysteries and revelations. Players will be able to unlock Captain Kidd's fabled cutlass, a deadly, brutal and beautiful piece of steel.
  • Ghost of War single player mission: The tide of the Revolution turns into the Templars favor. Defeat your enemies and unlock The Pontiac's War Club, a powerful Native American weapon.
  • Multiplayer Sharpshooter package: Unleash the Sharpshooter fury in multiplayer with one new character, the Sharpshooter, one Relic, one Emblem, one special Picture and the Title of "The Jester".

Then there’s The Join or Die Edition, containing:

  • The medallion of the Assassins with its high-quality curd ladle
  • George Washington's notebook revealing all the truth and secrets about the Assassins and the Templars during the American Revolution.
  • Ghost of War single player mission
  • Multiplayer Sharpshooter package

Last up is The Special Edition. This comes with the game, some special packaging and an exclusive single player mission, called “A Dangerous Secret,” in which you must “fight against a secret that could jeopardize the funding of the revolution.” Successful players will earn an exclusive weapon: a Flintlock Musket.

You can find images for the various special editions below, fresh screenshots here and all the new info you could ever wish for here. Assassin's Creed III is out in October.

  • Why can't we ever get an edition with everything anymore?
  • They should have left the multiplayer out and just make it co-op. Do people still play it online?
  • the The Freedom Edition it is! but way do they have to have 2 editions -.- really liked the collectors box and medallion from the join or die edition :/
  • Prices and where do I purchase them?
  • I can only hope the US gets the Freedom Edition!
  • Same shit like ME3, pay extra for Single Player missions. I can go along cosmetics like a exclusive MP character which doesn't effect gameplay, but gameplay content... They may as well have called it "Go F*ck Yourself Edition".
  • @5 You're joking, right? Ubisoft has always catered to Europe when it comes to special editions for AC. Codex Edition, Animus Edition... We're not getting any of these. Sorry.
  • Ubisoft needs to fuck off and die.Revelations had 6 special editions. Now we have several more for another game, all with unique shit again. You're not getting my money this year Ubisoft......at all!!!
  • The U.S. better get something this time! We did for AC: II and Brotherhood, but not for Revelations, which made me extremely upset.
  • I'll be getting that sexy standard edition.
  • In the name of getting the badass steelbook that the US gets just for preordering, I'm getting the Freedom Edition (judging by what they've said, I have a strong feeling ShopTo will be getting it! :D). Oh, and, you know, for all the other totally awesome stuff in there, like the statue! :D
  • As usual Ubisoft is screwing over the North American audience by only offering CEs in the EU just like Revelatios....Fuck you Ubi
  • Prepare your wallets.
  • Such a watse of money.
  • i wouldn't mind the statue. but i'm not a massive AC fan ..
  • Oh, just so everyone knows, UbiShop and GameStop UK are doing the Freedom Edition right now. Remember that GameStop charge your card right now, though, before you order! And they're £10 more than UbiShop for it.
  • Give me a break... More completely unneeded multiplayer? It eats up room on the game disc, leaving less single player story. And release these special editions in North America this time.
  • Freedom Edition, all day long
  • That is snazzy but I still gotta save up for the Guild Wars 2 CE. CE here is a maybe, but I like it.
  • I'll be getting the some scratches, a little bent used edition!
  • with an american flag attached to the statue i'm pretty sure it will be going to america and thats one of the reasons why i'll probably just get the join or die edition.
  • For the love of God, let the Freedom Edition become available in North America!
  • As #1 said why can't you get all the extra in 1 edition. Sure some people might buy both (tempted myself) but I don't think that many people will. 1 full edition would sell better I'd think.
  • @2, I DO! i played just today! I think the multiplayer is great, keep it coming assassin's creed
  • @6 Since ME3 was the first game ever to do this. Not AC:R, or AC:B, or AC2....hell, even AC1 had extra missions for the special editions of the game -_- This isn't something new, and it DEFINATELY isn't something new to the AC series. Way to stay "cool" though and rip on ME3 when it has nothing to do with this. Congrats.
  • Dont know which one to get :( do you think ones cheaper ? :)
  • If the Freedom Edition comes to the U.S then for sure I'll be getting it. That Connor figurine will go great next to my Ezio figurine.
  • All the extras will come with the eventual DLC anyway. AC2, B, and R have all proved this.
  • This better come to NA.
  • Depending on the price, I'm getting the freedom edition for sure.
  • Jesus Ubisoft, is that enough special editions? And of course, none of them are the "ultimate" one that contains every other bonus. Do they really expect people will buy both special editions so they can get all the stuff? This is insanity.
  • @1 You took the words right from my mouth. Was going to say the same thing. OT: The Freedom Edition seems like the best deal of the three. Is this only a UK thing, or are they doing this in the US too?
  • I'll probably get the Freedom edition as long as the price is reasonable. I do really want that medallion from the Join or Die edition though, and I like the collectors box better. Oh well, I guess I could always just try and get the parts I like from the Join or Die edition off of eBay
  • @6 Let's just hope it's not exactly like Mass Effect 3 and we can actually get the damn true ending without having to play multiplayer.
  • Join or Die edition it is then. I quite enjoy the AC editions, tbh :)
  • Ubisoft has no plans to bring any of these special editions to North America, because they believe there is no interest. If you disagree, please call Ubisoft at (919) 460-9778 and tell them you want a CE in North America.
  • Why can't all of the extra single player stuff be added to the Freedom Edition and then just give a mission or two to the "lesser" editions. So frustrating buying the most expensive set and still missing out on some missions.
  • Standard Edition :)
  • Couldn't agree more with Comment 1! Freedom edition looks bad ass! But the prices aint been stated yet! Most I'd pay up to is £80. Annoyed by the Alex Ross steel book case that I just imported from the US to the UK cause I thought it was gunna be ultra rare!! DAM IT! Sell it on now me thinks and wait until I get that edition - providing the price doesn't hurt the moths in my wallet too bad!
  • You know what's sad? This game is all about the united states and ubi hasn't said anything about the collectors editions for us. I mean seriously why does this have to be only confirmed in Europe so far? North america should be first always for this game.
  • This stuff is for suckers..
  • Don't care about the figurine and the box looks way better in the "join or die" edition... I'll go pre-order this one tomorrow !
  • And surprise, another game smeared unnecessarily with MP.
  • its about time europe got something before usa. having to watch all my friends in usa playing games 2 days before me does my head in. hopefully we will get this one first. that medallion looks good but still dont know which one to get.
  • Freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeedom! Edition.
  • Looks def okay but why game developers they days always make multiple editions and then even with the biggest edition not put everything in from other editions? All i can think of is to milk us gamers realy, i remember the famous assassins creed II White & Black Editions pffff! Besides that this figurine from connor looks okay tho. One thing realy..why they still bother to put in multiplayer in a great game like assassins creed..I personaly think it not needs one, i know gamers still enjoy it and thats cool but at least they should leave out those pesky on-line achievements nobody needs or want. I loved AC and horded 1000G out of it and same goes for AC2 but sinds brotherhood i can,t get myself to play MP just to get the rest. So Ubisoft Montreal do me a favor and drop MP achievements.
  • @38 lucky for you the freedom edition is only 79.99 on ubishop. I feel for you if you bought one of those steel books for £60 that I keep seeing on eBay!
  • if it wasn't for those gay american flags then maybe would have considered it!
  • Oh one more thing!! Why europe only gets them? I mean honest the US should get them aswell, i def feel sorry for my fellow american gamers even tho i,m from europe i still not get this whole concept behind Ubisoft thinking, honestly! For pete sake the US is a far bigger country then the whole of europe so they would sell many more of these editions if the made them available for the US aswell. So Ubisoft you heared the message! Make then available in the US aswell!
  • I dont understand why they wouldnt release these in NA because the whole premise of the game is the AMERICAN Revolution. If they did i would totally get the freedom edition
  • So, 80% of the game is worth the $60 you spend on day 1. If you want the other 20% of the game, you have to spend more. Nope, sorry.
  • Do you think this will be available on amazon ?
  • I really really have to laugh at the people moaning saying the collectors should be going to America because it's set in America, my word, you people are dumbasses. Oh and also, THIS IS AWESOME! For once we get a collectors edition that YOU DON'T! Seeing as this ALWAYS happens to us or we get shafted and get a collectors edition with much less stuff than you. This time around, it's Europe ftw!
  • Thanks for the reveal x360a....now since it has multiplayer I will not be getting this game!!
  • George's Washington's Journal sounds pretty interesting. I really only want that and the single player missions, it's too bad that the Ghost of War and the Dangerous Secret missions are bundled together. Looks like I'll be getting the standard edition, I guess.
  • #53...The only dumbass here is you clown. It's ass-hats like you that keep things so divisive.
  • the Freedom Edition is on pre-order at €99.98 on gamestop here in italy, €79.98 for the Join or Die Editon
  • @#56 actually I've seen ALOT and I mean ALOT of you Americans laughing at Europeans on this site because you get alot more collectors editions than us, it's about time it came back to bite you on the arse. It's called Karma.
  • If US doesnt get these when its a game about the american revolution....then why make it?
  • @2 Co-op Assassins would be so awesome!! Especially now with a larger map...
  • @48 my thoughts exactly and i didnt see the other box properly so its just the standard edition for me. on another note, if he is half native american and half british then why is he representing america.
  • @59 Ask Ubisoft Montreal that, its something i don,t get either. I mean as nice and cool it may sound to us european guys getting all this i still find it lame to say the least NA not getting these what makes no sence as its a game about the american revolution anyways.
  • @7 Ironic, isn't it? @58 It's cool. You can have this Mass Effect CE redux; I've already got two of the steel boxes (thank you, GameStop), so I already have the only thing worth a damn from it, just like most CEs that come out now. Should the game not depressingly sink like a bag of puppies in a lake, maybe I'll buy a regular edition to put in one of these steel books. @61 Because America was colonized by the British? Believe it or not, quite a few people on the reservations have white ancestry nestled in there. For reasons frowned upon, of course. Would it make sense for a half-native American representing the UK?
  • Where is the Freedom edition available from in the UK, join or die is available from play.com and a couple others(think thehut and zaavi) but cant find the freedom edition
  • @64: gamestop.co.uk Freedom Ed. £89.97
  • I am just wondering when we will reach the point where every content in a game has to be pre-purchased or bought in a special edition...It'll be real soon I am afraid
  • I want the freedom edition with the medallion why must i be forced to give up some sweet collectibles just to get other collectibles
  • Remember that this game may be in America, but involves native americans, british soldiers, and most likely the colonists that represent many different people groups. As an American, I appreciate the diversity for this game and in this thread, there is no need to bicker at each other. Let's stay classy. I for one am excited about these editions even though they are not for the US quite yet. I do hope that my very early preorder will transfer to a special edition or something nice. I would appreciate that too, but that is just me dreaming... While I hate seeing all the extra stuff NOT included in the initial game, it still causes me to think what is in the works after this since its out so early.
  • #67 Profit
  • @68..Your respect for others is appreciated, but unfortunately none of these "special editions" are slated for North American release. I called Ubisoft today and asked them about this, and they base it on interest. Right now, Ubisoft doesn't believe there is in interest in CE in North America. If people want this changed, call Ubisoft and voice your opinion.
  • @64 + 65 - it's £10 cheaper if you got direct and preorder from UbiShop. And they don't charge you until it ships, so that's a plus!
  • I bet they will announce an American, Fuck Yeah edition later on.
  • It would be sad if America did not get a special edition. Considering the fact that this game is set in America. Maybe make an American edition with everything in the Freedom and Join or Die editions. Would seem appropriate.
  • Think about it. NA isn't going to be a problem for sales. That's a given. Europe needs a little incentive to buy an 'American' story. I'm sure they'll offer the bonus single player missions as dlc because people still buy the stuff. Never figured that one out. If it ain't in the retail game, it isn't the game. You people need to stop buying dlc and they'll stop with this nonsense. Same with the incentives. Buy standard, bypass dlc, play it and get to the next game...
  • Multiplayer achievements = no purchase for meeeeeeeeee
  • Any idea if the notebook is a legit actually written by George Washington notebook, or is it written for the game
  • *stares at The Freedom Edition* I'm soaked in my own drool
  • "Lost Mayan Ruins" mission? sounds awesome. this better all be released as DLC. what's in each edition kinda confuses me, actually.
  • #77 This game is loosely based on history so it probably has some true facts, but not everything
  • i want it all. so i guess i'll just wait until its made avalible to me..
  • Going to get the Freedom Edition, but I will definitely try to eBay the things I don't get from it. Some of that stuff looks pretty nice, but that statue... looks amazing.
  • #77 LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLL.. was that a real question??? please tell me you were kidding.......
  • @77 Yeah. And it has the location of the treasure from National Treasure written in it as well.
  • got my steel case from best buy 2 weeks ago, might have to upgrade my edition.
  • Join or die has the best box
  • Damn...gimme!
  • Too bad that neither one of these Editions will see the light of day in North America. However if any one of them did, we'd just be offered the Special Edition and nothing more.
  • ill just be getting the game.... but overall nice stuff ubisoft has in mind
  • I hope the US gets at least something comparable to the Freedom edition and doesn't get completely screwed over like we did when Revelations came out. After all it is set in our country this time.
  • What really pisses me off is the lack of an "everything" edition, maybe I want the medallion and the statue? From this write up and pictures doesn't look like that's gonna happen and I'm not paying for two...
  • think I'll be going for the join or die edition solely because I want the medallion. Haven't enough room for anymore statues nor the money. Is a shane they don't do an edition with everything though.
  • Wait wait wait, join or die edition from ubishop. Pc £34.99, Xbox and ps3 £64.99. Somehow I feel slightly ripped off there, £30 ripped off in face. I know pc is always cheaper but £30 just didn't cut it! Might wait and see if anyone else stocks it before ordering from ubishop, granted they give U £10 off ur next order but still.. Not happy
  • I'm hoping that Ubisoft will release a "United We Stand" edition in NA, that has ALL the collectibles in one package! I'd be willing to pay up to $150.00 for that puppy (which would be a lot cheaper than buying the separate packages and trying to recoup the costs by selling just the duplicate games/items afterwards)!!!
  • i laugh at all you people who wont buy a game because of achievements.. you really are fucking stupid
  • I'm goin' with the Freedom Edition. That figurine is killer.
  • when it comes to collectors editions they should be available to everyone not just europe i live in Scotland and ive always loved the special editions i think they should be available to all countries im surprised Ubisoft does do that it would make them more money
  • I'm not sure why this is being released in Europe at all. Its for Americans by Americans.
  • i want the freedom edition but play are only showing the join or die edition!!! please tell us who is offering which preorders so we can actually preorder the game!!!
  • 100th!!!
  • I'm with #95. Not buying a VIDEO GAME because of achievements? Seriously? It wasnt until a few years ago that achievements existed!! What happened to playing a game because it was FUN?!?! FFS. The gaming industry is pretty scewed if this is the audience it's got. I don't personally care about any thumbs down i get, but i hope the next generation of consoles do away with "Achievements" and "Trophys" as it detracts from the gaming experience. OT: I personally cant wait for AC3 regardless of edition or achievements as have really enjoyed the story and gameplay. New character is always good too.
  • @49 are u mad bro? europe is more than twice the size of the usa. derp
  • twice the population i meant
  • And they won't be GAME exclusives !!!!
  • I'm getting the Join or Die edition :) LOVE the medallion and box, all I'm missing out on is a statue I have no room for (which would end up staying in the box), one boring looking mission and a "litho" whatever that is. Join or Die for me xD
  • Sweet! Assassin's Creed is one of the few franchises I'll actually buy the Special Edition for more than just extra DLC. Problem is, not all content is in one edition. I have to get all 3 Special Editions now, dammit! xD
  • Please don't jump the shark on this one. Pass on the connor figure. Sounds like it's a mini statue of the kid who cuts my lawn.
  • @53 what od you mean this time do you forget that they did the excate same thing with the last game, and as far as your other comment. "This time around, it's Europe ftw!" ya cause lord knows that the time frame this game takes place in yall got your asses handed to ya buy a bunch of hillbillys. Hillbillys FTW over Europe.
  • Then again this is not the first time that NA has gotten shaffed when a game came out where the story line of the game either took place in NA or was about NA. Look at the game Homefront, NA got screwed out of CE's of that game and now it looks like we are going to get screwed out of CE's for this game as well. So for all of the people in this thread who are saying it is about time that we didn't get something do you homework before you open your mouths and you let stupid pour out of it.
  • @110 I actually got an e-mail from my local game retailer before I saw this. Yes, the Freedom Edition is more expensive. I think this is the kind of comparison you were going for: Packaging: Freedom - Big Collector's Box and Alex Ross Steelbook Case Join or Die - Small Collector's Box Special - Special Packaging Contents: Freedom - Connor Figure, George Washington's Notebook & a Lithograph Join or Die - George Washington's Notebook & Assassin's Medallion DLC: Freedom - 2 Single Player Missions & 1 Multiplayer Join or Die - 1 Single Player Mission & 1 Multiplayer Special - 1 exclusive Single Player Mission
  • So wait ... the game takes place during the AMERICAN revolution, but AMERICA doesn't get the clearly better special/collectors editions?! Way to play favorites, Ubisoft.
  • @112 Don't be that guy -_- We get plenty of exclusives in the US. I WILL have one of those Connor statues though. One way or another :P
