No problems with any of those results apart from the fact that Nolan North should have won for performer.
Portal 2 deserves every award it gets, fantastic game. Would have been nice if it had won the GAME Award too but that was never going to happen on an award voted for by the public. |

Glad to see Rayman origins win something. That game really impressed me.
But a major shock for Bethesda leaving empty handed, but I doubt they'll be to upset. Its won GoTY awards from lots of places already. |

| The stand out one for me is Mark Hamill as the Joker. Possibly THE best Joker character ever, not just the voice but the personality he brought with it. Shame he's not doing it anymore. |

I am happy that Portal 2 won because so amazing graphics, story and great and best coop game ever made. I am bit disappointed that Skyrim didn't win but at least Portal 2 stand there. I am so happy with Rayman Origins got won something so do players who loved Rayman and yeah 100% people worked in Ubisoft are so proud of it!!
I am laughed because Battlefield 3 kick MW 3 asses for awards lol
I am pleased BF 3 make noobs choose it over MW 3 and make this win over COD haha :D |

I thought for sure LA Noire would get artistic achievement :O
But it won original music, so I... lolwut? From my recollection, original music in LA Noire is few and far between. Sure, the 40's songs are great and add to the atmosphere, but hardly 'original'. I loved the game to bits, but... hmmmm....
Hell, I would have picked Skyrim for that, simply due to the epicness of the theme ;) |

If the VG BAFTA's are a joke, then I don't really know what word could describe the painful experience that are the Spike VGAs...
Mark Hamill getting a gong for his performance in Arkham City is a wonderful swansong to his many years portraying quite possibly the best incarnation of the Joker.
While I don't agree with all the choices, there are some good solid ones made there. CoD MW3 not winning anything, not even the public vote, is also noteworthy. |

| Maybe the British didn't care for the accents in Skyrim? However, I am glad to see Portal receiving the recognition it so deserves. Excellent story, excellent choreography and top notch humor. Meh, not upset that Skyrim didn't win anything, though how it lost best original music to LA Noire is baffling (did LA Noire even have any original music?).
As for best story, I personally though Portal 2 had a horrible, long-winded story that was 90% filler and 10% annoying. I literally had to force myself to continue through the game once I entered Aperture and the recordings of the founder started up. Complete rubbish. And the Wheatley character is easily in my top 10 worst characters ever, possibly tied with Jar Jar Binks.
Gameplay, however, was spot on, and I'm glad I forced myself to play as the later levels were brilliantly designed. At least I know that I can go through the game a second time on mute and not really miss out on anything.

I'm fairly happy with those results, I'm very, very glad to see that these weren't based around just popularity, like that guinis book of records false list. I'm oh so glad to see that MW3 didn't recieve anything at all :) Thats made my day, to see that this was actualy aproached in the right way!
I've still got to get into Akram City properly, I will do eventually, then ask what took me so long like with Arkam asylum, lol.
Shame Skyrum didn't pick up something, would of thought that it may of had a chance with artistic achievement, really had some great visuals. |

| Glad to see portal win som stuff, amazing game imo. Skyrim was good but no where near perfect or goty, it was riddled with bugs on launch and ended up piss poor on one console, just not goty material to me. Dark Souls was far better imo, to me it offered a more in depth RPG experience and didn't hold your hand like Skyrim does. |

Portal 2 deserved Best Game. It's very compelling and innovative with beautiful visuals, storytelling and musical score. The difference from the first game is also very apparent.
Skyrim however, didn't really introduce anything new or generally different from previous Bethesda games. (And it's not that I don't like the game; I'm heavily addicted to it like most other people.)
BAFTA always make the more logical and correct decisions in choosing their winners, rather than simply following the money-making trail. |

I think CoD lost fair and square, its a boring game and full of cheaters.
This years public vote was protected by "Captcha", not like the previous years where you hit back and vote again and again and again.

@1 Agreed. Portal nerds must be mad. I mean it's and okay puzzle type game...but story etc...really?
All I can think of is fags buying "The Cake is a Lie" t-shirts for their 16 scene girlfriends from thinkgeek.com.
I think BAFTA just didn't want to hurt Bethesda's back with all the awards they're already carrying. |

| While Shadows of the Damned was my favorite, Portal 2 was the best game of 2011. Glad to see it get the proper recognition. |

As much as I don't totally agree with a few of the nominations/winners, it does seem to be a rather unbiased or should I say unfanboybiased list of
worthy games. |

| I absolutely love Skyrim and personally it's my game of the year. But I think objectively that it is 2nd or 3rd in all of those categories. The only one that did baffle me slightly was the original music one. I think Skyrim should have beaten LA Noire in that category. Although I haven't played all of the games on that list so can't say that it should have won. |

I'm glad to see an awards show not just dumping every award ever onto Skyrim. I loved the game, don't get me wrong. I lost weeks of my life to it. But the critical praise it has received is very unbalanced.
My only thought is the voice actor bit. For me, it would have been a close tie with Stephen Merchant, because his performance in Portal 2 is really what made that game for me. |

| @#19, I know, right? LA Noire was nominated for so many things, and it ended up winning "best original music"? It uses very similar music repeatedly, and tracks that very much reflect the 40s--its good music, but not original. It's significantly innovative with a design that transports you back in time, wrapped into a storyline that gets more compelling as the game continues...and it wins music? |
