Spelunky Burrowing Onto XBLA This Summer

Remember those halcyon days when video games used to be unapologetically hard as nails, punishing mistakes by throwing you back to the beginning of a level or the game? Mossmouth's Spelunky is a throwback to those very days, but rather than being frustrating, it's full of endearing retro charm and is massively rewarding. And now it's been confirmed for XBLA.
In Spelunky, you play as a little miner fella who's half-Super Mario, half-Indiana Jones, using rope to scale heights and planting bombs to burrow his way through the game's fiendish levels. You get a single life to unearth all of the golden idols, damsels in distress and other treasure, while avoiding spikes, boulders and other hazards.
Spelunky on XBLA will also support 4-player co-op and will feature a Deathmatch mode, in which 2-players share a screen and try to kill each other. Simple, frantic fun. Check out the video below for a look at Spelunky, which is coming to XBLA this summer.
