..The who?
It sounds like Im talking about the band, but Im actually just showing my distaste for the full album choices.
I'm sure someones excited about this, but I wish for full albums they would start with more popular bands.

Screw The Cars, Doolittle by the Pixies is the next album, coming in June if Wikipedia can be believed! Yay!

Great album! I'm a big fan of 80's music so this is a welcome download. And "yes" to comment #2. They also do "Drive".

I might pick up 1 or 2 songs from this one.

I wouldn't say "screw The Cars" Ricass because they're a pretty good band but DOOLITTLE BY THE PIXIES!?!?! FUCK YES!

@everyone dissing on the Cars/Judas Priest albums, these are both very popular bands. Just because they aren't your "favorite", they both contributed a lot to the genre. Priest is one of the best metal bands of all-time, and the Cars have had many songs in the main stream media as of late (Best Buy commercial, i.e.). The already announced Pixies? Not as much, but they are still a very solid band. I understand everyone wanting The Who, Nirvana, (insert your favorite band here), but they can't go for Guitar Hero's proverbial throat until closer to Guitar Hero Aerosmith is released.

It always gets touchy when people start to voice their musical preferences. Might as well have a "talk" about abortion. I wouldn't get too uppity, though, you're arguing very mainstream bands exclusively. You don't know who The Cars are? Seriously, why are you playing Rock Band? This album will surprise you--it's a solid example of New Wave rock. The call for "Doolittle" is warranted, too--that album smokes, but I'm not picking up this game until they do a death metal edition. Try playing some fucking Nile or Psycroptic, then ask who The Cars are!

Buck I used to listen to a lot of metal and used to feel the same way but playing any type of extreme metal on guitar hero is just going to be fucking stupid. I'd much rather play rock or blues songs. Metal on guitar hero is just slamming buttons and strumming as fast as you possibly can, it's no fucking fun. With rock/blues you're jamming and rocking out, that's the experience I'm looking for in the game.

One of only two good albums by The Cars, IMO. I'm buying this... eventually. Too bad there isn't a way to play Moving in Stereo and All Mixed Up with gapless playback, because those songs just become epic when put together.

Monday, May 26, 2008 @ 06:04:40 PM

Hmm...definitely not a buy. I agree that there really should be a cease in the constant flow of old rock. I love old rock, I truly do, but when pretty much every single download is old rock, I am getting tired of it. I don't really count the Harmonix bands, which I find shameful for the company to release. I don't dig them plugging their bands into all their releases. Anyhow, I guess looks like a I have another week of no downloads...HARMONIX PLEASE NEW SONGS! But please no idiotic Fall-Out Boy.

I think we need some newer stuff, dnt get me wrong i love metallica etc but id like some Disturbed, Korn, Stone Sour, Bullet For My Valentine, Trivium and Killswitch Engage. i would say put a few lighter songs on it, BUT its got plenty already, i mean i look at the list and see BEASTIE BOYS and just think could not just put Killswitch Engage - Arms Of Sorrow or Rose Of Sharyn in its place?

Some of u guys really need to come to realize that some bands will never be released in any of these games like tool, jimi h., Ac/dc and etc. Tool won't even sell their songs on itunes. household name bands like ACDC, Jimi have very limited control if any to release their stuff. 250,000 to buy rights for a hendrix song? i would rather have rock band2

I think both DLC albums were a great idea. I practically shat myself when I found out they released the entire Screaming For Vengeance album for Rock Band. I guess the rest of you can just pray for the some newer stuff....I personally enjoy classic rock.

I'm kind of iffy on this one. There's definitely some choice songs on that album, but it's kind of moldy around the edges and I'm a little burned out on the classic rock right now. I'll probably just grab my favorite few individual tracks.

Just listened to the songs via RB, and god do they sound dull. "Laid-back", I guess some would say, but I prefer the word "dull" in this instance.

There were some songs in the pack that showed some slight promise, but overall, it's another crappy week for RB DLC.

everyones saying that the cars and judas priest are not popular, but if you were from that genration that would be some of your favorite stuff. personally im not a pixies fan, but if you read game informer it says on the latest issue (featuring GH4) that Judas Priest, Cars, and Pixies were the fist three full albums.

I think that this is a decent album and I will more then likely download it. The Pixies album, however should be interesting, although most of the songs don't even break three minutes, so i guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Boo to the Cars!!! 80's new wave sucked. I know alot of the bands i want on RB will never be on RB. So i wont even go into it. But Queen and some More Bowie would be nice.

If the content is good, or for a game I love, I'll buy it regardless of whether chievos are included
I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
