I am 100% never buying another cod ever again after playing the biggest let down of my gaming life (mw3).It's shocking that a "new" cod is being released every six months cause that proves that it will just recycled over and over and over again.

So long as its a true Black Ops game rather than the shite that Infinity Ward brought out with Modern Warfare 2 and 3. In my opinion Black Ops has always been the King of the COD games, so here's to hoping BO2 will be a success!

| The whole story is pathetic. Everyone knows Treyarch will release a game this November and that it was 99% likely to be a Black Ops sequel. Punishing a game site for publicizing something that Amazon let out of the bag first and everyone already knew was coming is ridiculous. The bottom line is money, and Activision wants people focused on MW3 and its DLC so they can get it. Gameblog isnt missing much as the whole CoD series is rehashed content. |

Correct me if I am wrong or am missing something here, but its not like Gameblog broke into Acti HQ and stole documents or info about the next game, they didnt use any force at all to obtain this info, THEY TOOK A SCREEN SHOT OF A WEBSITE THATS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC....

Dont really see how they can make a sequel to Black Ops' story... Unless they'd actually let you kill Kennedy, that would be pretty interesting from a controversial angle... (every CoD seems obliged to have a controversial scene in it, so that would be pretty big)

@20 Well you cant really blame the devs, they would just say "dont fix whats not broken". What I mean by that is that if you want to blame anyone, blame the consumer. Where do you think the money for this crap is coming from? They copy and paste because consumers are stupid enough to praise CoD for its reduncancy in the last 5 YEARS of yearly release. And despite how some lament it, or hell even hate it THEY STILL BUY THE DAMN THING. For once I would like to see people look past an expected shitty game to buy just because you have nothing else to buy or because your friends do it. For example, instead of this shitstorm that we all know damn well is coming, save your money and invest it in a good game. Give something like Fall of Cybertron, Borderlands 2 or hell even Halo 4 a try. Yeah I know on the last one I'll probably get hate for it but think about this.
Would you rather spend 60 dollars on a game that you'll just be bashing months, weeks or even days later? Or on a game that might turn out to be fun and entertaining for once in your life? THINK before you buy a game solely on what others are doing or just because there's a teeny tiny chance its different. Because if the last 5 frickin years have said anything, CoD isn't changing ANYTIME soon. |

They should have known the ricochet effect when doing the blacklist, this isn't 2003 where you could try to eliminate some leak and only the minority will know it. Word of mouth is 20 times more powerful than it ever was and now Activision will have this little dark gem for mistreating companies who discovered information on a Public Website.
Anyone who has used the internet and read CoD Articles anywhere, would know that it's almost as obvious as corn that Black Ops 2 would be the next CoD to work on. People bitch about MW3, but I think people forgot about the lawsuit that screwed over an ass ton of employees from IW in a crucial peak in the gane's development. |

As for Black Ops 2, they had better make some serious god damn muh fuckin' changes here. The first thing they need is a new bloody engine and for some reason, I highly doubt that Treyarch will be the one to debut it. That means we get another game made in the CoD4 enhanced version of the CoD2 engine (you know, the one that released on launch day with the 360...). Even if CoD4 HAD used a completely new engine, it still will have been FIVE YEARS since that game came out. Somebody please tell me that I'm justified in my mild to moderate frustration, here. I appreciate a game that runs at 60 frames per second more than just about anybody, but RAGE runs at 60 and look at that damn game; it's gorgeous. And before I give myself an aneurysm, let me say what everybody hopefully knows: just because they keep reusing this old ass engine, does not give them an excuse to leave the gameplay untouched as well. I've been with the Call of Duty franchise since the very first one released on PC (which, might I add, makes me qualified to point out when every game in the franchise, including MW3 still uses that game's death animations) and I really want to continue enjoying it, but I swear, it feels like they are purposefully trying to offend my intelligence and keep me away from the games. This is Activision, so we know they want our money, but are they actively trying to kill the franchise, just like Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero!? Because I guarantee that you guys could keep it alive for ever (maybe on life support, but same difference) if you would just put a little bit of effort into changing things up. Please?
...I didn't think so.

I try not to get into the whole COD bashing thing because I do actually like the games but MW3 was a huge letdown for me, mostly the mp though. And to everyone saying that they need to stop making these games, think about it. If you had a game that people will blindly throw money at and all you have to do to make another shitload of money is write a new story for it each year, make a few minor changes and package it, what would you do? Its definetly not the best moraity choice but they're a business, they just want to make money

I'm only buying Blacks Ops 2 mostly because they actually did something new unlike the Modern Borfare series, the MP felt dark with new equipment and every Map wasn't the same, most importantly zombies was a great edition to the game and brought out the better side of the COD franchise and not selling the same repetitive sh*t over and over again

i'll play this for the single player. and if they have zombies maybe that. but multi-player most likely not. because i'm just sooooo bored with games like cod. its not CoD in general. i just dont enjoy getting thousands and thousands of kills having a really great kill death ratios. its just totally pointless. and not worth my time. i'd rather play something that is going to gimme the satisfaction of completing a certain task. not just "challenges" or certain things to do while in a match. thats just retarded. leveling up is boring as fuck too cause its allllll the same in each and every game.
i'd rather just have a REALLY good story-based campaing that is really really long. and in depth. is that really to much to ask for? |

| I only stopped buying COD because the campaigns for me were getting a little dull and the dlc extortionate. I still occasionally play black ops, and might pick up Black Ops 2 if it doesn't involve COD Elite, if that is still a part of it, then it will be no deal. |

So let me get this straight...Activision is mad because another site was simply listing something like that and now they revoke all of their invites, etc. Even though...this was inevitable. Are they trying to make it seem like Black Ops 2 was an impossibility? I would have been honestly shocked if it was instead announced that there would be "no call of duty this year". #8 you are stupid, a new COD isn't released every 6months, and they have two different companies making the games. Treyarch release 1 year then the next is Infinity Ward, so technically they release a game every two years.

I would take this with a pinch of salt.
Companies are known to hear a whisper and then fire it up on the site to build it for release or just to be the first to take pre-orders.
HMV are classic for it. Even my work - Which had pre-order for the game call of duty 2012 for 02/11/12 release.
If treyarch think they need to make a black ops 2 they are wrong. and if they think it should be called black ops 2 then they are crazy!
They seem to think they done something wrong with black ops. But its a perfectly fine game. |

@73 Don't think you're in the minority, friend. Black Ops had a genuine balance that few (recent)Infinity Ward games have. I'm not some random that casually plays a CoD game and then thinks he knows everything about it. I actually sink a lot of time in to every CoD game and I can say with absolute inbias that Modern Warfare 3 is the worst Call of Duty game I've ever played. I had a feeling that ever since the falling out within the company that the game would suffer, but chose to judge it for myself. I'm half way through 5th prestige and I can honestly say I do not enjoy this game whatsoever. The only reason I'm playing it is because that's what all my friends play. The weapon/loadout balance rewards people with minimal skill and allows them to play decently and cheaply. A 'huge' imbalance ruins the experience for veteran players. The level design, while trying to "prevent" camping, has encouraged people to go from camping buildings to camping corners. The game offers no customization whatsoever, compared to Black Ops. And the biggest travesty about MW3 is that Infinity Ward doesn't seem to care about the many, many, 'many' bugs and imbalance issues that plague the game. They ignore the bulk of the community input, whereas Treyarch actually cared about their overall product and constantly patched Black Ops until a level of balance was obtained.
So, in short, while you may actually like MW3, I do not. I'm going to play it atleast until Future Soldier comes out and then I really may not touch CoD again until Black Ops 2 comes out. Infinity Ward's days as the superior CoD developer are gone. Treyarch is the #1 CoD designer and I never thought I'd see that day haha. |

This is just me, personally. I liked the first Modern Warfare.. granted, I couldn't beat it under Veteran even after trying for multiple hours.. I still would rank it as one of the best.
I played World at War, and I thought it was cool because I enjoy my history.
Anyways, MW2 and MW3 never called my attention since I looked at it and it looked to be the same damn thing as the first one.
OT: Black Ops 2 could be a let down, but at the same time, you can't always assume that they'll make the same mistake as MW2 and MW3. Just save money, read the reviews, check out the gameplay and if you like it, then by all means, purchase it and continue with the CoD franchise and hope that they keep making good games. If not, then just shake it off and wait to see if they'll actually pull the rabbit out of the hat and show off something worth the wait/money.

| @27 Seeing as i've been a Call of Duty fan since CoD4 Until Black Ops, i think i'm allowed to come on a CoD article and voice my opinion. I wouldn't like it if Bethesda or Bioware began milking Mass Effect or The Elder Scrolls, and i don't like it in this case. |

| not interested in CoD anymore realy. not after the dispointment of MW3, and the imensity of Battlefield 3. and even though i liked Black Ops, i didnt like it enough to be remotely bothered about a sequal which, as modern warfare has told us, will be exactly the same as the previous one. |

| The only thing I care about is Zombies. Personally I thought that zombies was the only good part of Blops. They should actually listen to people and release a zombies only game. Maybe an arcade one (but knowing Activision and Treyarch it would be a 2 hour campaign on a full retail disk) |

| seriously, i used to be such a call of duty fan. But this is ridiculous. I have sat and defended them against all the haters out there. And I bet you ten dollars there gunna use the same engine they been using modern warfare and its gunna have the same recycles multiplayer. I seriously am looking like a fool to all my friends when I defend this game and they go and do this. I purchased MW3 for the campaign. But I will not be supporting this game. Halo and Gears is all the multiplayer I need until Activision decides to stop popping out call of duties like there skittles. |

| From my experience people who are good at CoD tend to stick to MW2, and therefore when a new one comes out the majority of the players jump ship until they get bored of the new one but by then you'll already have a new cod out and then the jumping ship process starts anew, but the people who want some degree of challenge go back to MW2. Not a cod fan by the way basically only bought it when pre-owned, so when people i know play it i see them raping the casual fans and there are A LOT of noob assists in the iterations of cod after MW2, for example the death streak kill counter in MW3 were one is almost applauded for being shit. |

| MW3 was such a let down. The theater mode doesn't work, and it just felt like a huge step backwards from the dizzying heights reached by black ops. If treyarch makes another good Call of Duty, then they will get my money. But please, don't add any of this bullshit they introduced in MW3. |
