Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Dev Diary is Combative

BigHuge Games has released a new developer diary for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, detailing the combat. And oh man, what brilliant combat it is.

We've done no less than four previews of Reckoning so far and every single time we've been struck by just how great the fighting feels. Slick combos, great weapons and a wonderful feeling of badassery abound.

A round of applause then for lead combat designer Joe Quadara, the man behind it all. He's in this latest video, along with a couple of the animators, discussing everything you could ever wish to know about beating the crap out of people in Reckoning.

Vid's below. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is out in February.

Let's hope EA doesn't ruin what could be a very good title with their regular shenanigans!

You get all the great games this year and think, wow, next year isn't going to beat this, and then you see videos of games like this, and get proven wrong. So looking forward to this, im a big RPG connoisseur.

Still not sure about this. Seems like a lot of button mashing involved.
It looks really nice though, and I hope the story will be good.
Maybe there will be a story dev diary soon? :D

Hope the combat's better than waving your sword around, hoping you hit the enemy rather than someone on your side...

Preordered months ago...before the dude at GameStop had ever Ben heard of it haha. Purposely NOT picking up FFXIII-2 the week prior to this, because I know KOA:Reckoning will be eating all my game time in February.

This game just keeps looking cooler and cooler. I have never been a big fan of fast weopon changing combo chaining but they seem to have perfected it. Big huge games has my money day one. I am always up for supporting new IPs.

Now, I've finished Skyrim, I'll be looking forward to this being released. Got a few games to keep me going until then, but no RPG's :( I really hope this game sells well and challenges Skyrim iin terms of world size, and everything else really. Its lookin awesome so far.

The last RPG preview I watched that was all about immediacy of button presses in combat was Dragon Age 2, and look how that turned out.

I will reserve judgment until I play this, but my expectations are not extraordinary.
