Race Driver: GRID demo arrives on marketplace

Race Driver: GRID demo arrives on marketplace
Written Thursday, May 08, 2008 by Neil Christie

The series which started with TOCA Touring Car Championship on the PlayStation back in 1997 is to be refreshed later this month when Race Driver: GRID goes on sale. You won't have to wait until then to get a chance to play though, as a demo of the latest title has just been added to Xbox Live Marketplace.

The 795MB file includes three different tracks, each with their own class of vehicle to try. You'll be able to race European touring cars on Jarama Circuit, US muscle cars on the streets of San Francisco and you'll also have the chance to try Japanese drift racing at Yokohama docks.

Race Driver: GRID goes on sale on May 30th in Europe and will be published simply as "GRID" in North America on June 3rd.

Renji don't be stupid, Grid looks like one of the best games this year, it'll be 10x better than Ninja Gay-den, it looks amazing, I'll definitly be buying this when it comes out as I've been looking forward to it for sometime, downloading the demo now xD

Just downloaded it and man this game is gonna be awesome. You can tell the people that made Dirt made this one, cause before you race it tells you how many miles driven and stuff. But yea demo was good and the game should be great. Can't wait!

Renji, just out of interest how can you tell the game is going to be crap? Clearly you haven't played it! If you don't like racing games then fair play, but surely if that was the case you wouldn't be posting here? Odd...

Factor in the TOCA pedigree, and that of Dirt, and Codemasters for that matter and unfortunately you look a bit of a chump.

Can't believe this one landed so quick, I am so downloading this bad boy this evening!

I'll definitely have to d/l this when I get home from work. There's no doubt in my mind that this game will be made of win.

I'm going to DL it. I've rented Dirt and really liked it, even though I normally don't play racing games. If this was made by the same people, I'll probably enjoy this one too.

I played the demo - It is probably one of the best racing games I've played, drifting on it isn't like that pansy stuff from Carbon, it actually requires skill, the damage is sweet too, the only downfall I see is that it may be too easy in single player with the flashback stuff, I'm still buying it though xD

This seams to have arrived quick...fact of the matter is though im sat here at work and iv had to ring the wife to download it.... time is now dragging as i want to play it.

I believe tis will be a good game and now forza has died off im really waiting for another good racing sim to hit multiplayer on..

Quick mention about comment 3 "Renji"....dont come and slate games that you obviously dont like...or is it the fact that you are a 10 year old and mummy and daddy dont let you play every game..

Just downloaded the demo. I got a little bit of gameplay in. I think it's the best racer out now. I like how it takes a little more work and feels more realistic.

Does anyone know if it's Wireless Racing Wheel compatible?

Also, I think it's better than Forza and PGR, IMO. I still love Burnout Paradise though...

It's OK. It certainly isn't a breakthrough in driving games and it feels way too much like dirt.

The steering is way too twitchy, i find myself constantly tapping left and right instead of holding the corner.

For me, no driving game has beaten Forza 2 in regards to game play so if you really like Forza 2, try GRID before you even think about buying it!

now i remember why i stopped comming here, its because of all the cocksuckers on this site, i never should have made a new account, but oh well main reason i made the account was to inform people on the SC IV exclusive DLC for the U.S limited edition. i dont have any plans on posting much as i dont really care for the site all that much, and i ust to be a big fan of racing games, all the old NFS games up until underground 2 were good, after that they went downhill...most wanted wasnt good, carbon wasnt good, neither pro street. The only two good racing games on the 360 are TDU and from what i played of the demo, Juiced 2. all the others are garbage. I love how people here (and on gamespot) love to bash people just because i dont like the same game you do, grow up fucking dipshits. i never

Wow... Renji, this is a forum fella, it's where people share and debate views. You were very quick to dismiss Grid without really giving a reason. Ok, you got a little flamed, but please, if you are going to post a very negative comment, surely you have to expect people to react to that? Your response to this is a little churlish.

As for this site, if you don't like it then it's kind of odd you opened a new account. I and many others who read and post here regularly do it because we love the site.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion. If you post yours though, expect to get other peoples back. Just how it works.

Incidentally, played this last night and it's AWESOME.

Handling is sweet, it looks stunning, and the rewind feature is a really nice touch. Great damage modelling too.

This one is in the bag!

One of the worst driving games i've ever played. Everything is recycled from McRaes Dirt too.
