@8: Its a mod for the PC. After MS seen how people were able to connect Kinect to the PC,etc and mod it, they encouraged it. MS was against it at first but then they seen all the ways people were using it and they figured why not let people come up with the ideas for us. I like Kinect but they have to find ways to make it fun to use on good games and make it a option to be able to sit down. After people come home from work or they are on their day off, they probably want to game but not stand up for long periods of time. The amount of time people put in Skyrim, the last thing they want to probably do is stand up for 300+hrs. |

i just came accross this 2 days ago. i dont have a pc & use my wii. thus i couldnt paste it here. i'm glad you guys found this. THIS IS WHY I BOUGHT MY KINECT! PLEASE,PLEASE do this! i would pay extra for a firmware update! i want to do this so badly, it makes me sick! developers start giving us kinect users what we want. we've supported your garbage now stop holding back! GIVE US THIS! we all know it can be done. this guy listed in detail how he did it! using R-leg to walk.L-leg to run. he used the rise of nightmares controls. which goes perfect for this game! now give me the skyrim I WANT! which is THIS! devs take note on how to use kinect & controller. so both parties are happy! enough kid cr*p. give us the core games & stop holding back! |

| @26, it's a delay. Part of the problem with this kind of technology, and the fact that its wireless, it takes a lot of time to process this information and do it in game. That's one of the few reasons stopping developers from doing things like this. It's not as responsive as a controller and results in a lot of annoyance. |

kinect's a gimmick only... See how hard it is to aim? takes forever to use a potion or check your inventory.. I played Kinect for 1 day then returned it... No option to sit down??? Playing on your feet is nice.. but not all the time. Just like the Wii... Played it for a couple weeks then i was done... Maybe if I got my hands cut off in a horrible accident, i would use the kinect... Thats all its good for.. handless ppl... Props to the guy who modded it for pc use tho, i remember when they modded the wii nunchuck and wiimote for pc use.. |

Until then, im afraid i'll not be getting one. Now where's my dashboard update??? LOL :) |

It's amazing the number of people that read "MOD" in the title and still think this is for the 360.....apparently a title is enough of a reason to post a comment. Wouldn't want to read the article or watch the video or anything. It's an interesting mod, one that hopefully companies are working towards themselves. Reduce the lag issue, and I would consider using a Kinect for this. Honestly, I would probably buy a kinect just for the voice uses in this video. Let me hold my controller so I have more control over combat, and I'd have no problem yelling at the television whenever I wanted to use a shout. More importantly, if you let me give combat commands to my followers, I'd definately be interested in this tech. Maybe some day it will develop beyond the gimmick it is now. Either way, will probably have to buy one just for Mass Effect 3 so I can yell at my squadmates. |

@17 As far as I know MS was never against it, they even encouraged it from what I've read. They've seen how successful the iphone has been with all the user apps that are created and what's has done for that product. @57 It's in-game. Seriously misleading title. Colour me dissapointed though as I was saying only yesterday that it would be a cool addition. I think this is the way forward for the Kinect. Too many games are released which are just shovelware the same as the majority of the pap on the Wii, but it is capable of so much more, greater interaction with maintrean games, this is just an example of one way it can be done. If mainstream games started including optional Kinect compatability, I'd seriously look into getting one. |

I'm not 100% convinced this is real. If it is, my bad, this would then be the best thing I've ever seen done with a Kinect. I would love it to be so. Kinect is still in it's infant stage at the moment, they are still developing the technology and decent Kinect Titles are still a while off. @32. Yeah, this is a mod by a fan, not Bethesda. You could at least check your "facts" before commenting. @37 and others. You don't have to use it for the whole length of the game, play a bit with the Kinect when you can, then a bit with the controller when you get tired or the kids are in bed etc. @71 and others. If this does become a real thing for Skyrim on 360, (Probably won't) I should think they will let you choose how much you do. Just voice commands, just movement, or both. That would make sense to me. P.S. FUS! |

| I didn't even finish the video. It's impressive but definitely a gimmick. I doubt the creator even plays it that much. I can put 12hrs a day into a game if i'm into it (spread throughout the day), so for me to stand for that long is ludicrous. |

@37 No one is trolling to thumb you down, and about your back injury. You want a more user friendly Kinect for someone like yourself. Someone who cannot stand for long periods of time, cannot run/jump on the spot, and who cannot swing there arms around. Maybe a regular controller and a microphone? I could sell em to you, only 100$. I know there real hard to come by now adays. But in all seriousness. There are somethings that just cant be brought down for the disabled. The whole point of the Kinect, and even the Wii, is to make you move while you game. The only reason you can sit with the wii is because of the controllers. Even then, if you can't swing your arms, then your screwed. The kinect is not given a 'sit down' option, because it goes against the whole point of it. Also, when your sitting, actions are harder to depict for the system, which would frustrate many people, and would be to big of a hassle to try an work out. Another topic, We have seen what this can do, and it looks awesome. But the reason I say leave it for now, and the reaason it has been left out for awhile, is because of the reaction time from you to the game. Small games that are on Kinect now are quick to react because the games are small. But a game like SKyrim, that would take loads of work and more software and equipment to make something that would react as you do it, and not 2 seconds later like in the video. And you may say, well big deal, but I doubt Bethesda wants to deal with angry customers omplaining how they were struck down because the sheild didnt block when they told it to, or even because they can't aim the arrows. Just my 25 cents, |
