Like any huge sports franchise, WWE is a victim of the annual update bug, meaning that each and every year has to see a new release hitting the shelves. WWE is possibly even more prolific though, with WWE All Stars out earlier this year and WWE Brawl also in the offing.

However, WWE '12 has dropped the Smackdown vs. Raw name, suggesting that this year might be the big one. So, is it time for some innovation in the ring and a big revamp, or is it just a small refinement over 2011's effort? Is WWE '12 still a wrestler in its prime, all rippling muscles and athletic prowess, or is it a flabby heavyweight long past its prime?
