AC: Brotherhood was made in a relative shorter period of time. But they did an amazing job, maybe thanks to a larger and dedicated team. I can see them keeping it up for AC Revelations, and possible AC 3 too. |

Sounds like Assassin's Creed 3 to me. It'd make sense, too - like the original article said, December 21, 2012 is a major plot in the games; it'd make sense for them to get to whatever they have planned for that date before it gets here for real. Also, I'm not yet too concerned about quality. I was originally worried when Brotherhood came out so soon after AC2, but it actually proved to be just as good, if not superior. Now, granted, I haven't played Revelations yet... but I'm looking forward to it. That said, as long as they can keep up the same level of quality, and don't start going -too- crazy adding games to the series, I don't see there being any problems. |

The whole point of the series was that it would finish in 2012 for the whole apocalypse thing. That's why Desmond's sections are in the year 2012, so the series would finish in the present year. Ubisoft have probably been working on this game for longer than a year, but are just releasing this the year they always intended to. |

It's probably AC3. They said they want it done before December 2012 since that's part of the mythos of the game is that real world date, and since this supposedly takes place in current times, it wouldn't make sense for them to miss it. That being said, Ubi's also said that once AC3 is done they're letting the franchise breathe for a bit. Whether or not that's true remains to be seen. |

| Remember what Ubisoft said in an interview earlier in the year, that after next year's AC (likely AC:3), they're gonna increase the gap between releases. I agree that they're getting ready to announcing it - so to coincide and stay on track with the 2012 plot. and I also agree that a release date on 12.12.12 makes perfect sense. |

| Assassin's Creed has a storyline that continues in each game. Since when is that a bad thing? This isn't a sports game or FPS where there's just a roster change or different war to fight in. They're not "milking" the series, they're releasing an epic storyline that doesn't fit in 1 single game. |

so far none of the AC games have disappointed me, the first had its issue but then AC2 perfected alot of its gaming aspects an now its just a matter of creating new missions and environments my only concern is that they start trying to make the Multiplayer a bigger aspect, an im wondering if the wording "major new title" hints that Revelations is going to have less focus on the single player to make room for the multiplayer. i think if they can create a GTA IV or RDR Free Roam where you have all kinds of stuff you can do to "level up" along with PVP type stuff it would be awesome. but that PVP mode in Brotherhood was really lame where everyone looked the same, i did like the mode where you had to eliminate a number of enemies a certain way in a specific time, they could expand that feature |

Assassin's Creed, the only game that comes out yearly these days that manages to improve on it's predecessor dramatically instead of serving their fans a short campaign and copy/paste multiplayer. *Looks at IW and Treyarch* Indeed there will be a day when the series becomes stale, much like Final Fantasy has had far too many games thanks to Squeenix. But I trust that Ubisoft will know when the time is right to leave it alone and bring forth a new game to flagship their company. But, my friends. Today is not that day. |

| If the next Assassin's Creed game is another Ezio expansion I'm going to be spending my money elsewhere . I've been a big fan of the series ever since it started off with Altair, but this is just getting ridiculous now. Ezio was awesome and all but I think I speak for the majority of AC fans when I say that we want a new assassin as a main character. |

This has to be Assassin's Creed 3, Seeing as Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Assassin's Creed Revelations are just spin off's of Assassin's creed 2. So i'm guessing we might see Altair back in action or maybe they'll reveal the next new major Assassin or maybe Desmond himself becomes a modern Assassin. Idk just throwing around ideas |

| First off, the prophecy is for 12/21/12, not 12/12/12. Secondly, the 21st is a Friday and nothing has stopped a game from releasing on a Friday instead of a Tuesday, (i.e. Skyrim). I for one can't wait for the next full-fledged installment. Italy was fun, and Ezio is a cool character, but I believe it's time to see who else has contributed to Desmond's genetic history. I'm betting 10 bucks ASIII will be released 12/21/12 - or maybe 12/20/12, in case the world really *does* end on the 21st... |

They have a successful game, so its not like they have to build each one from the ground up. As far as I am concerned, the games have stayed similar to the previous one, but still add little things to make them more fun. I wouldn't want them to change the game to much, why fix something that isn't broken, right? |

#51, Loose controls. It's been that way since AC1; however, AC1 gets a bit of a pass since it was released in 2007 while the control issues persisted through AC2 AND AC:B (with AC:B being released in 2010). It's inexcusable when control issues that were around in 2007 continues to plague the series two games later, and even worse is when you have side missions like Young At Heart with the god awful requirement for full sync (some of the requirements for 100% sync were awful in general). Conversely, the story and characters are actually interesting to say the least. The way they've taken various historical figures, locations and incidents and wove a narrative out of them is something some other developers could use a lesson in. My other argument against AC:B is that it seems like they had an idea for a multiplayer game, but may not have been quite confident enough that it would do as well as it's single player brethren so tacked on a not-quite-as-great of a single player story as it could have been. I felt that while playing AC:B that there was too much filler than what was in AC1 and 2. I had to cancel my pre-order for AC:R (financial reasons), but plan to pick it up after the holidays. I just don't want this series to turn into another CoD milkfest. |

| AC is cool, but even though AC2 is far better than AC1, it can't be said the series is improving. AC:B is a great game standalone, but it pales in comparison to AC2. The campaign is half as long. Though that's not really the fault of short development, more the inclusion of multiplayer. I know some people like AC mp, but it DID affect the sp. |

| @67 Well maybe its just me but i think it took me about 20hours to do EVERYTHING in the AC2 Campaign while it took me 25-30 hours to 100% the campaign (of course counting all side missions and stuff) so i think overall AC:B was a good improvement i playability and such and it developed the story in a very good way. But oh well maybe i stand alone but i think AC is one of the best ongoing Series right now because of the very deep and good story, thats something which is not much appreciated nowadays :/ (i only consider the Mass Effect Series better in Terms of Story and ongoing series) |

| Excellent news, looking forward to playing AC:R, for anyone to say its too soon for another is just stupid. There's nothing wrong with another game a year later, better than waiting 3-4 years for one. Plus ubi have constantly kept their staff working game after game which I think is great, not just because the game comes out much quicker but also stops any unemployment which seems to be getting worse and worse every month with companys shutting down all the time. I'm a big fan of AC and look forward to any news of a game and/or film. |

I actually liked the Dark Ages/Castles/Crusades/MidEast environments of AC 1 as opposed to 2 and B's Renaissance/Florentine environments... I hope they go back to the Castle ages.. only instead of in the Middle East.. go to western european castles... go back to the dark ages.. By the way , wasn't Brotherhood just like one huge update for 2? Couldnt have they done like 2-3 addons.. and did the same thing? no... well maybe.. close... Give us everything from Brotherhood or Revelations in the castle environments.. and id be happy... |

| @71 that may be pushing it, but it's very possible. I played AC:B the day after i finished AC2 for the first time, and everything from the gameplay itself to the HUD felt exactly the same. Half may be a bit of an exaggeration, but AC:B was definitely shorter by a few chapters at least. And it being set in Rome could have been a "Rome add-on" to the numerous cities in AC2. Though it would be a lot of DLC packs, in hindsight it would have been possible.(For the sp) |

Big AC fan, and the probable release of AC3 next year shouldn't really surprise anyone, was it not always touted for 2012? This game ends the Ezio Auditore arc, and next will end the Desmond arc. I must say though, when they say they will let the game breathe after that, I love them, but they should just finish it. It really does bother me when things seem to just go on and on milking the franchise (not a CoD dig, I bought MW3 and am enjoying it). Even if the games are good, it almost feels like it cheapens them somehow. Perhaps it's just me. |

| Assassin Creed announce a game a year and the moaners mess themselves saying that Ubisoft are milking gamers, despite the fact that each game is vastly different from the last and has a gripping storylines. EA churn out the same game year in year out FIFA 12, Tiger Woods etc etc with barely noticable changes and no one bats an eyelid (they also charge you again for the same golf courses that you have shelled out for the previous 5 years in DLC, now that's milking). I personally can't get enough of Creed, and can't wait for the next twists in the storyline. |

| You'd think they'd have waited until Revelations was actually out to start hyping a new game. Nothing like making a release look unimportant... |

wow, yes Assassin's creed is a great franchise, but it won't be long until we're playing Assassin's creed 2012, Assassin's Creed 2013....and the rights are bought up by EA Sports or Activision, not every game needs a yearly update, please, please, hope they spend enough time on it to the the franchise justice |

| Let's just hope it's finally Assassin's Creed 3 (or should I say 5? Brotherhood and Revelations don't look like expansions to me...). I do want to know how the story ends. |

Ubisoft can't put a foot wrong with this amazing series people who are bitching that this will become a cash cow underestimate ubisoft but saying that i believe that this newest installment will be the ultimate test to see if ubisoft can support a game a year schedule |

Considering they've been building towards AC3 for 2012 since the first mention of 21/12/12 in AC1, the fact they're doing a game next year isn't particularly surprising. It also means that they're not rushing them out as they've probably planned that certain team members would be working on each game to allow for the games to stay consistent. As others have said though, they keep getting better and so as long as they at least keep the same production values, etc going then I don't have a problem with another game next year. |

with modern assassin's creed black ops coming out this month, they have plans for a modern assassin's creed warfare 4 slated for 2012......puns aside, the series is good, just, is the story really....really long, reminds me of the wheel of time series...you know the fantasy book series that's like over a dozen 300 page novels long and then some...its good...just its one gawd damned long story !!! |

@4 the difference between AC and cod is that cod is the same shit every year, now with MW3 they didn't even bother to change the menus or the HUD which is kind of sad. AC on the other has something new to offer every game, so i wouldn't mind buying an AC game every 1 or 2 years |

| I love the series, but I'm honestly getting tired of it. Too much, too soon. I'd rather see longer development cycles and better games. I'm not saying Brotherhood was bad, it was quite the opposite but a longer development cycle could only help the franchise. |

Why are they acting like we should be surprised? They said they're pushing out one AC title a year, now, and after Revelations there's no place to go but 3. Plus all that chronologically-relevant-2012 crap. We get it, Montreal! Just freakin come out with it already! |

okay, 1st we had Saints Row 4 confrimed. Now AC III, next year. honest, i'm a BIG Fan Of ACreed, but, what the hell developers, can we just get AC Revelations and enjoy it, with out thinking AC III in our back of are minds. we'll worry about Saint Row 4 and AC III when there is PROOF and not talk that Saints Row 4 and AC III is coming to stores, but not this year. |

I love how a yearly release in any series has become such a bad thing to so many gamers. Long development cycles do not always make for a good game. Check out Daikatana and Duke Nukem Forever for prime examples of that. AC2 was a huge leap forward from a good game in AC1, and with only one year in development, AC:B was an improvement on AC2 even with the experiment of multiplayer. The story is high quality, the game is enjoyable to play, the achievements are challenging yet fair, and it's good to look at and listen to. If AC3 disappoints, then yeah, second guess all you want, but for all these gamers to be making such idiotic judgments this early is short-sighted at best and stupid at worst. Lastly, why does it seem like most people think that a sequel needs to be vastly different from its predecessor to be considered worthy of release? I enjoy Assassin's Creed, and if Revelations is as enjoyable as the rest of the series on console has been, I'll throw down cash for this edition. |

| It has become to me like CoD two years ago lol. Still I gladly buy it just like CoD, because game has enough awesome in it to keep me coming back for more even if each installment is only improved version of previous game=P I do hope that they will finish Desmond's plotline thought and not make a mini trilogy out of it, like they did with Ezio... |
