As promised yesterday, welcome to our "10 Most Anticipated E3 2008 Titles", where we'll take a look at what we're looking forward to seeing more of at this year's event. The titles mentioned are titles that have already been unveiled previously but we just can't get enough of and want more, more, MORE!!! Check out our Top 10 after the jump.

10. Tomb Raider Underworld

It’s been a while since we last saw Lara, January in fact and she was looking pretty good back then, it makes us wonder what another 6 months has allowed them to do. Crystal Dynamics did a fine job with Legend and with the huge multi-scale puzzles, new improved visuals and improved gameplay mechanisms that will be present in the latest instalment, Underworld could make the perfect gift this Christmas. E3 could be the perfect platform for Eidos and Crystal Dynamics to drop some more bombshells and to impress us even more. Lara Croft is coming back!

9. Fallout 3

We’ve not really seen much gameplay of Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic RPG title and we’re truly hoping that E3 will change all that. The number of endings (200) is simply mind boggling and only intrigues us more. We are actually quite worried that Dogmeat can die though, what happens if we go get a drink and come back, only to find out he’s been ravaged... No more playing fetch with the severed arm in the barren wastelands... It’s a painful thought. Oh well, we’ll get over it.

8. Tom Clancy's EndWar

Possibly the most innovative title of the year, Tom Clancy’s EndWar sets to not just define the strategy genre, but evolve it. EndWar relies on voice commands from the gamer to control the game’s units which means that we can sit back in the comfort of our own arm chair and successfully navigate the most sublime invasion of an enemy camp you will ever see. No more of the “No, not there you idiot” moments, you’re the only who can get the blame this time. Despite a less than positive Beta test, we still have our faith in EndWar’s abilities because after all, it was its first Beta stage.

7. Left 4 Dead

A game that puts emphasis on survival and playing with a pack of friends while obliterating a bajillion zombies is a great game in our books. Throw in the fact that the game was developed by the legendary Valve using the more than legendary Source engine and you have what can only be described as a perfect weekend. Valve’s upcoming zombie shooter is shaping up to be a super title, our only gripe is that we need to see more of it and we have a feeling that E3 will be the perfect place.

6. Far Cry 2

For me personally, the Far Cry console port was a supreme let-down, especially having experienced the original on the PC, but thankfully, the Ubisoft sequel seems to have won me back over... at least for the moment. Far Cry 2 heads to Africa this time and the Ubisoft Montreal team have added so many novel ideas in to the title that it is sure to stand out from the large pack of FPS titles we're used to. With the freedom to move around the 50 square kilometre terrain and the possibility to take any challenge on how you feel, it sounds mouth watering. Could this be the least linear game to date? Let’s hope E3 shines more light on the beast that is Far Cry 2.

5. Mirror's Edge

Mirror’s Edge is the highest placed new IP in this year’s most anticipated titles and it has done everything so far to justify its place. The game takes the perspective of Faith, a runner in a city where all information is closely monitored who has to take the law in to her own hands to free her falsely accused sister from the iron grip of the regime. This “first person action adventure” title looks to be supremely innovative and one that intrigues us more and more with every asset we see. With the likes of DICE and the well renowned writer, Rhianna Pratchett at the helms, this is sure to be a great title and we’re hoping E3 can satisfy our curiosity that little bit more.

4. Gears of War 2

In the words of Cliff Bleszinski, Gears of War 2 will be “bigger, better and more bad-ass” than its predecessor which is a pretty impressive feat. Gears of War may not be as high as people think in our anticipation list, partly because we know an awful lot already. The multiplayer looks to have remedied all the problems of the previous  version and Epic seems to have added a lot more modes for us to get stuck in to. The single player looks epic which is always a good thing. We’re expecting a few big announcements regarding these previously unmentioned weapons and such, but all in all, we know what to expect. But the more treats and big announcements, the better.

3. Resident Evil 5

 Resident Evil is one of those franchises that carries with it a lot of history and a lot of expectation that comes which each and every instalment and this title is no different, in fact, there is probably more pressure on this title than any other in the series. The early signs of Resident Evil 5 indicate that the title could be the best in the series and a contender for Game of the Year. What the Capcom team  do with light and atmosphere is what Lennon and McCartney do for music, so we’re hoping to see a whole lot more of Resident Evil 5 at E3 this year.

2. Fable 2

The original Fable on the Xbox was undeniably one of the greatest RPG titles ever to grace the earth. The simple fact is, people love to make choices and this is why Fable 2 ranks so highly on our list. Up until now, we’ve not really seen much of the title or heard many juicy details. We’re eager to see more regarding the choices, their outcomes, the main characters ageing process and the scope of the world. It’s a game that will surely require multiple playthroughs testing the water as an arrogant, egotistical hero or a cold, callous and calculated butcher. Hopefully E3 will answer some of these questions and a whole lot more.

1. Alan Wake

Everyone at some point or another will have heard of Alan Wake, whether they’ve seen the concept, seen possibly the best weather system ever created or heard of the Stephen King-esque story. The game looks and sounds like a Hollywood blockbuster but the only problem is that the original suggestion of a December 2006 release seems a little way off. We’re hope that E3 2008 will be the year Microsoft re-unveil Alan Wake and finally get the game out of the rumour columns and in to our consoles. Visually stunning with what sounds like an epic story. Just what we needed and worthy on winning any Top 10 list. Let's hope the rumours were true and this year is Alan's year.
