	Im wondering what 1 is asking as well. Is windows 8 going to have your gamercard present? I thought the pc platform to earn achievements on was gfwl although the platform has failed to launch so is microsoft ditching it? I wonder if indie games will be allowed achievements soon.

	In Windows 8, your user account is your live ID so you pretty much are signed into live all the time (same as windows phone 7 and 8) And there are games that usually come free. I assume it will be like WP7 and have 25-50g free games and normal stuff will be 200-400g.

	it's a bit of a windows feature to come with solitare and minesweeper so I am pretty sure you are safe ;)

	Windows 8 is going to be MS attempt to destroy Steam & other digital PC services by forcing publishers/developers to only support Xbox For Windows 8 (not getting back ported to Windows 7). This will be the final thing to virtually retire GFWL.

	I can also confirm that they're free. They're in the Windows 8 Release Preview, just without the Xbox Live functionality enabled yet.

	if i didn't completley hate the look of windows 8 i'd consider getting it, but seen as i do i'm gonna stick with 7 not worth upgrading just for an extra couple of hundred gamerscore across all the free games that come with it

	You do know it's going to have 100s of Xbox live games on windows 8. Wonder if these games will work with windows 8 rt tablets

	@9 I agree completely. I'll stick with Windows 95. BTW I think they should add achievements to the Hall of Tortured Souls.

	@14 when Windows 8 is launched in October, the release view has it, but like #8 posted, the LIVE functionality's not there yet

	@9 I believe you can switch between the Metro look and a more traditional one. Oh well since direct download for Win 8 is cheaper with 7 installed I think I'm going to upgrade.
