| @43: That achievement is similar to "No One Left Behind" in ME2, and will require you to take specific actions before the finale of the campaign to make the galaxy as prepared as possible so there are little to no casualties. The "Galaxy at War" mode is tied into the campaign just as it is to online co-op. In fact, playing the online co-op portion of GAW will make your single-player campaign more "ready" for the finale. So you can get that achievement without ever touching the online portion, but doing so will only help you. | ||
![]() Forum Posts: 14738 | Comment #49 by The Pants Party [STAFF] Saturday, February 04, 2012 @ 10:57:47 AM | |
| To add to my previous statement, this outlines the mode well: http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/323/index/8481789/1 "Players can impact their game’s Galactic Readiness level in multiple ways via the Mass Effect 3: Galaxy at War system, including multiplayer. Other platforms and interfaces will be announced in the coming months. It is important to note that the system is entirely optional and just another way players can have control over your game experience – it is still possible to achieve the optimal, complete ending of the game in Mass Effect 3 through single-player alone." | ||

| Are developers able to put kinect achievements in a game that is not fully Kinect? Basically because it kind of goes against the policy that requires a game to have the full original 1000 available on disc. Online is kind of different because of the whole Live thing but a kinect achievement in a game like this meens you would need to pay the $60 for the game and another $100+ for kinect. Is the policy changed or does Kinect not need to conform to said policy? | ||

| @76: A game that is "Better with Kinect" can still have Kinect-related achievements. Both Harry Potter and Forza have done it. The 1000G can still be attained from the disc, meaning you do not need extra content (DLC) to unlock it. There is nothing against requiring the use of a peripheral. There are also games that require the use of a VisionCam for achievements. | ||

| That's the way to do it: make achievements that can be unlocked in either single or multi. | ||

| Good to see Bioware knows what their fans want. No multiplayer achievements, now I can still complete everything in singleplayer :) Hope this is picked up by more developers. Make achievements so that you also can get them in singleplayer. | ||

| @119 Do you really think they made much money off of Rock Band 3 Keyboards just because of the achievements? Doubtful. Yes, some people will buy a $70 (or in this case, almost $150) peripheral for achievements. But the companies know better than to think adding peripheral achievements will make more achievement hunters buy the peripheral, than it will make other achievement hunters avoid the game completely. It's not being a tool, it's called business experience. Get some, then talk about it. | ||

| I haven't logged in to comment in a long time but like everyone else I see, I LOVE what they did with the multiplayer achievements, they made them optional. It's such a simple but amazing idea. It's not that I don't think the multi won't be good or anything, I just don't think I may have enough time to put into it like some other game's achievements have done in the past. Especially with the amount of time I plan to be putting into the story itself. | ||

| This game actually seems like the multiplayer parts will be more be more interactive and fun with a good squad. Many games have tried and failed and much rather they stick to the single player story line.Dead Space would be a perfect example I could think of.I for one will be playing the multiplayer regardless even though I prefer single player instead of getting mad at little cheaters/modders that ruin the true meaning of multiplayer for the rest of us. | ||
