![]() | Comment #1 by Patriot Se Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 06:07:07 PM Way to many collecting achievements if you ask me. Obviously most of the secret achievements are story based which shouldnt be too bad though. |
![]() | Comment #2 by Infomouse Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 06:09:29 PM I can't say this game looks as good as i hoped, i mean the whole space aspect is really cool but do people in the future really run around completing quests carrying swords? |
![]() | Comment #3 by Welsh Rambo Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 06:13:30 PM These cheevos look like hell. Will spend most of the game referring to a guide making sure you're not missing anything. |
![]() | Comment #4 by boringyanks Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 06:13:52 PM Why can't we get over with all the collecting everything already, enough is enough! |
![]() | Comment #5 by Vendetta Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 06:17:13 PM This might be the hardest 1000 (FF XI doesn't count) at the very least in the RPG category if not out of all of the 360 games there are. Regardless I have mine paid off and can't wait to play it next week! |
![]() | Comment #6 by CalenderDude Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 06:17:19 PM These achieves look awesome! I love collect stuff! |
![]() | Comment #7 by Dibs No Joust Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 06:17:45 PM I liked the creativity of Fable II's list, yet it still had the "collect this and that" stuff. |
![]() | Comment #8 by Dibs No Joust Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 06:18:23 PM PS I'm hoping the 26 hidden achievements are awesome. That's over half! |
![]() | Comment #9 by xxdeadpeacexx Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 06:19:22 PM omg nice!!! |
![]() | Comment #10 by duelingk Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 06:23:03 PM This game is going to be epic. The getting 1000/1000 will be a true achievement, which i am happy about cause im going to be working on it for sure. |
![]() | Comment #11 by B1GgYsMA1lz Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 06:27:43 PM sigh, all i can hope for is that the secret ones turn out to be sweet like the tales boss mission ones. but ill have to agree with number 10 it will be a very acomplishing 1000 |
![]() | Comment #12 by AsILayDying Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 06:28:33 PM still buying |
![]() | Comment #13 by Greg0fTheDead Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 06:31:46 PM I'm a big fan of the series so im still buying this game for sure- but the first half of achievements look agonizing. Open every treasure chest? really? I hope the secret ones are decent. |
![]() | Comment #14 by Dude Rain Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 06:52:18 PM This will definitely take a while... |
![]() | Comment #15 by bloodswan Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 07:09:13 PM I prefer collectable achievements to online ones. I don't mind collecting things. Games like Tomb raider are ok for collection as are survival horrors and it has the added bonus of actually filling u in on parts of the story. |
![]() | Comment #16 by silentbob0 Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 07:33:30 PM What an awful list, another game where you blink and miss achievements. Probably tons of missable achievements. Also whats with the Treasure Trove achievement clone? If the reviews are good I will still get the game, but this list is a big dissapointment |
![]() | Comment #17 by dementedlullaby Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 07:36:15 PM Another Square Enix RPG, another crappy achievement list! =/ Oh well, paid off the game and WILL love it. Star Ocean is great. Well besides SO3 for the PS2 >_>. Strange game. |
![]() | Comment #18 by mack1983 Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 08:16:09 PM battle trophies are damn hard, in so 3 one was complete game on hard and beat last boss with steel pipe lol and he was no walkover. |
![]() | Comment #19 by xino Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 08:26:08 PM achievements sucks man, not only do you collect so much trash but they are only worth 20-30!!! Collecting all these stuffs seriously makes the game boring, when I play games the first time, I tend to wander all around the map looking for hidden items. From there I can collect things. I don't want to complete the game while I know what will happen, and what I'm supposed to do is try and collect stuff just to make the game last longer!?. Orange Box has one of the best achievements out there, the problem is the scores are pretty low for them. Left4Dead also has good ones. |
![]() | Comment #20 by Vivi Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 08:34:37 PM The achievements for this may be more time consuming than those of Blue Dragon. :/ |
![]() | Comment #21 by Flak Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 08:54:23 PM All the collecting makes me not want this. Makes me sad, I loved Second Story. |
![]() | Comment #22 by OMGmyFACE Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 08:58:36 PM Ok, the laziness of the battle trophy achievement set is hilarious to me. It's like saying "you know the some-odd 3,142 things we gave you a pat on the back for in Star Ocean 3? Just do 10% increments of those for achievements, ok?" And then you've got the disgusting 100% achievements for weapons, data, monsters, etc. Anyone who's played SO2 and 3 knows that's gonna take 2 forevers. But what REALLY gets me is the 100% treasure chests thing. Did Lost Odyssey teach them NOTHING?! |
![]() | Comment #23 by L0cke89 Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 09:38:37 PM getting all battle trophies will be the hardest achievement ever, if they are on the same level as in Star Ocean 3. |
![]() | Comment #24 by SetsunaFSeiei Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 10:01:24 PM Im sooooo gonna take a break from being an achievement whore , for this game :D DW GUNDAM 2 & Star Ocean will be the only games i play when there out xD |
![]() | Comment #25 by FatalFlaw810 Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 10:12:50 PM I can't wait to pick this up, but i may just wait especially since i haven't beaten Tales of Vesperia yet. Still can't wait for this game :) |
![]() | Comment #26 by B1GgYsMA1lz Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 10:18:19 PM just a question to people who have played previous SO's how do you collect monstar data and ship data and stuff like that. Is it like Vesperia where you need to magic lens the monstars or do u just fight them? |
![]() | Comment #27 by JesusBread Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 11:19:16 PM I think I'll hold off playing this until December or something. Lost Odyssey completely diminished my capacity for RPGs. I love playing RPGs and whatnot, but not when they start taking 70 hours to get all the achievements. I can see this one taking even more O_o. |
![]() | Comment #28 by Kyanite Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 12:30:57 AM I can't really say "good list" or "bad list" until the massive amounts of secret achievements are revealed. |
![]() | Comment #29 by MrRedrum Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 12:53:48 AM ugh... can you say tedious achievements? this will probably be one of my summer drought games to check out after seeing that crap. >_ |
![]() | Comment #30 by xSiNx RaMpAGe x Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 01:17:54 AM to many secret i mean come on just tell us we will find out anyways> |
![]() | Comment #31 by Exodist Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 02:13:43 AM Achievements are a bit tedious, but considering the size Star Ocean 4 is going to be, at least they're going to be challenging and time consuming to actually unlock. This game will be an impressive one to get 1000 on really. As long as they're not easily missable or anything it won't be too bad... |
![]() | Comment #32 by tpb Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 02:44:13 AM Urgh... This is a gonn abe a nasty list... for a start the "open all boxes" achievement returns... then theres collecting everything under the sun... surely they have sidequests? surely they could have put in "30 points for completing this side quest" and "40 points for completing that side quest" - ie doing tasks rather then wandering around maps looking for items - some of which are garrenteed to be missable |
![]() | Comment #33 by Exodist Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 03:20:27 AM @32, hopefully they might try something like in Lost Odyssey, ie, the Auction House, to ensure they aren't missable. Only thing that got me with LO is that they made all the effort to make sure Treasure Trove wasn't missable, then went ahead and put two missable spells in there instead... : |
![]() | Comment #34 by MasonW94 Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 03:22:47 AM YES!!!!! A HARD LIST!!! Thank god, I was looking forward to this because I thought the list would be hard, I reckon 250-300 hours for this one. THANK GOD WOOOOO |
![]() | Comment #35 by ROA5T BeeF Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 03:24:52 AM Wow this is a terrible looking list. Game looks cool though. |
![]() | Comment #36 by ATR NAD Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 03:48:21 AM Seems tough to get them all, but I will for sure get them, no matter how much time I have to spend on this promising game |
![]() | Comment #37 by Hayabusa66 Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 04:15:17 AM Yes Star Ocean i guess will be a lot of work for 1000gs. |
![]() | Comment #38 by SetoChaos Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 05:24:15 AM I can't wait, this game is gonna be great =D |
![]() | Comment #39 by KFZ Scrubs Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 06:14:44 AM Those are the most unimaginative achievements i've ever seen |
![]() | Comment #40 by vieal Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 07:25:30 AM I am predicting this will be the hardest game to 100% on the 360. im not sure if anyone is aware, but in star ocean 3 there is a trophy for beating the game at lvl 1. there is also a super boss that is harder than ruby or emerald weapon from ffVII... also at lvl 1. this should take the 100's of hours, with many missable achievements with some of the hardest achievements ive ever seen. |
![]() | Comment #41 by Fafner Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 07:26:03 AM The achievements = epic fail. Still getting it tho. |
![]() | Comment #42 by Olliezilla Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 07:40:49 AM Achievements could have been better, but i'm looking forward to it, and im sure to get it |
![]() | Comment #43 by damcrac Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 08:00:32 AM i am fearing the achievements, and because of how i am addicted to complete achievements, I might have to say no until summer |
![]() | Comment #44 by ZLU CORONA Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 08:07:39 AM bof! |
![]() | Comment #45 by FailedSeppuku Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 09:33:50 AM 100% Battle Trophies is gonna be TOUGH! |
![]() | Comment #46 by FatalFlaw810 Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 09:58:58 AM @ #40, are you kidding me? at level 1? I've never actually played a star ocean game but that seems pretty difficult lol. |
![]() | Comment #47 by isual Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 11:08:35 AM shit. mostly collecting. the secrets are probably story, and optional bosses. HOLY SHIT, how about the higher difficulties like in star ocean 3? THIS IS GONNA BE HELL! |
![]() | Comment #48 by xNightshadow99x Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 11:36:17 AM 100% battle trophies, collect this and collect that. This looks like another list forcing me back into a mental institution, i will pass. |
![]() | Comment #49 by alexsimms Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 12:59:12 PM wow this reminds me of Phantasy Star Universe |
![]() | Comment #50 by Ashekaban Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 01:46:50 PM Who here complaining actually has played a star ocean game? SO1 - Great/14 endings SO2- GREAT / 81 Endings SO3 - So/so / 21 endings. These games are forced to be replayed, and you can replay them continuing off your guys (Much like new Game+) This list is perfect for a SO Game for sure. The World's are massive, the game is massive. Just wait til one of the one's worth 10% is "see all endings" Then start pulling your hair out. I am stoked for this game, and achievements are just a plus. RPG's are about collection, doing quests. Not running straight through a game. |
![]() | Comment #51 by Nekro Neko Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 02:38:05 PM Comment #2 by Infomouse Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 06:09:29 PM I can't say this game looks as good as i hoped, i mean the whole space aspect is really cool but do people in the future really run around completing quests carrying swords? Never heard of Star Wars then :P Anyway, looking forward to the game. Dont mind the achievements. |
![]() | Comment #52 by Nekro Neko Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 02:54:12 PM Oh, and I bet that Treasure chest thing really is just the treasure chests, not all the items that can be kicked, pushed, turned, pulled, squeezed, studied, rummaging through your sisters knicker draw and so on a la Lost Odyssey |
![]() | Comment #53 by A Satyr Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 05:17:41 PM Looks stupid... |
![]() | Comment #54 by Blue Radium Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 06:33:41 PM These look like the Blue Dragon achievements... only the game is better. 100% of all battle trophies? That's going to keep me busy for weeks, possibly months depending on the route they take. Some of the Till' the End of Time battle trophies were insanely hard to get. 100% monsters means meticulously using a monster guide, which I can sort of deal with. 100% items means messing around with the item creation system, collecting random items from everywhere to make useless items, just so that you can check the item off of your created list. It's looks like a buyer, which I'm actually happy for. Dimension DOOR! |
![]() | Comment #55 by NeroAnime Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 06:34:14 PM anime was pretty good lets hope the game is as well |
![]() | Comment #56 by xSiNx RaMpAGe x Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 08:04:28 PM I have never played any Star Ocean games could anyone tell me a little about them if you can mesg me. It looks good though. |
![]() | Comment #57 by Shockwave Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 10:56:43 PM im not trying to tick anyone off but is the only reason u play games is to get achievements? Im just looking forward 2 playing a good rpg. |
![]() | Comment #58 by One1 Man Clan Friday, February 20, 2009 @ 07:29:35 PM i just finished the last remnant and need my next square fix. . . . i really hope this isnt a let dwn |
![]() | Comment #59 by _DaNnY_ Friday, February 20, 2009 @ 08:57:49 PM Achievements = for the most hardcore and persistant rpg fans, you'll be lucky to see even 600G out of this if you're a casual gamer judging by the list. The game itself should be a pleasure to play, as all the other Star Oceans had an amazing story line with a depth that transpires that past the quality of story you're usually accustomed to such as those presented by movies and other RPGs... I think any true rpg fan will have to play this atleast once without trying to get all the hardcore achievements so they're able to appreciate the playability and story value, before going for a replay to grind for that 1000/1000, if you try the achievements straight off the bat with these kind of achievements it will be hard to enjoy the game and there will be no guides to begin with anyway! :/ |
![]() | Comment #60 by MetaPhoenix Saturday, February 21, 2009 @ 12:50:13 PM I have an XBL Silver account for games like this. I'm not big on the whole "Gotta play every game possible to get a 100,000 GamerScore!!!!!!" I just like to have fun with a game first, and then get the achievements afterwards, preferably on one play through. But seeing as this will require a stupid amount of time and chore-like work, I'll play it on my secondary account so I can just enjoy it without worrying or stressing about achievements. |
![]() | Comment #61 by FoX I tD Saturday, February 21, 2009 @ 01:32:50 PM i dont give a F#$% about the achievements this game looks awesome |
![]() | Comment #62 by Judge Bergan Saturday, February 21, 2009 @ 05:43:15 PM ill take collecting achievements over online achievements |
![]() | Comment #63 by Black Master Saturday, February 21, 2009 @ 07:28:48 PM @4 that is what I hate most for a achiev. list, a guide on all your journey just to not miss a chest or something that normally you would. Stop making that! Please! |
![]() | Comment #64 by exe67 Sunday, February 22, 2009 @ 02:22:54 AM Hmmm this list isn't that great... Still, I've been looking forward to this game for quite a while now so I'll definitely be picking it up! |
![]() | Comment #65 by aledarksun Monday, February 23, 2009 @ 05:40:02 AM i hope that some secret achievments are for kickin' ass bosses!!!!i want some boss like Ultima weapon, ruby weapon...dark eons....and obviously achievments too |
![]() | Comment #66 by oFILECOMPLAINTo Monday, February 23, 2009 @ 04:29:14 PM who cares |
![]() | Comment #67 by L0cke89 Monday, February 23, 2009 @ 05:05:47 PM Sorry, but I have to laugh about every comment that saying, this will be possible. The normal achievements are hard and we don't even know one single secret one. If the secret ones are doable 990 can be pulled off, but getting all battle trophies is just nuts. If you tried to get them al in SO3 you spend half a year playing nothing else. I'm dead serious. I played this game 4 times and spend 250+ hours playing this game and still miss like 10-20 battle trophies. And also, if one scret achievement requires getting all ending you can forget it. If that's the case you face youself against over 500 hours of playtime with the battle trophies included. I'm dead f***ing serious. If you didn't play STO3 and tried to get everything, you don't know. This is, even withput the secret ones, th |
![]() | Comment #68 by L0cke89 Monday, February 23, 2009 @ 06:00:21 PM e hardest achievement list to date. |
![]() | Comment #69 by Shazaeomon Tuesday, February 24, 2009 @ 12:02:35 AM Can't wait to pick this up tomorrow. Going to be hard to get all 1000, but eh, if you can manage to get a perfect score in a SO game, hats off to you. |
![]() | Comment #70 by FalseHope4829 Tuesday, February 24, 2009 @ 12:36:38 AM I haven't been a huge Square-enix fan since squaresoft and enix merged (FF12 & DQ8 are exceptions). Its like Enix is sucking all the good from squaresoft. I'll hold off on this one. |
![]() | Comment #71 by Pixi Tuesday, February 24, 2009 @ 02:26:21 AM Looks like this game will be right up my alley. I love collecting stuff and exploring every square centimeter of the game in order to find the most minute of treasures. I'm sure we will see a few "beat the secret uberboss on Ultra Hard setting" in the list of secret achievements, though. |
![]() | Comment #72 by Gunngrave Tuesday, February 24, 2009 @ 11:30:20 PM Picked up the game today, had it reserved and it shipped yesterday but my gamestop didn't have it but enough of that. Opened the game it was 3 disks and the guide is thick enough to kill an animal with. For about the hour that i played had not gotten any achievements yet the start of the game is riddled with battle trophies some are kinda dumb like do exactly 55 damage with an attack. |
![]() | Comment #73 by sleepydumbdude Wednesday, February 25, 2009 @ 03:13:17 PM Those don't look as bad as I was thinking. I'll probably beat it once first and just me a guide for the 2nd play through. Usually on jrpgs i tend to try to get everything anyways. I hope they have a 5 hours boss battle like ffxii. |
![]() | Comment #74 by mack1983 Wednesday, February 25, 2009 @ 08:45:34 PM once, twice no think my like 9-10 to 1k this bitch lol |
![]() | Comment #75 by NoodleII Thursday, February 26, 2009 @ 07:17:14 AM Amen #62 - collecting over online achievements is the way to go so I'll take it. |
![]() | Comment #76 by Chaosflare Friday, February 27, 2009 @ 10:02:19 AM Picked the game up last night. Amazing! |
![]() | Comment #77 by TwistedJC Friday, February 27, 2009 @ 05:06:32 PM Just started playing this game last night and so far I'm having a good time with it. I tend to play through games as they are ment to play for the most part, then if the desire hits me (it hits me alot), I will go back and play through for the achievements. |
![]() | Comment #78 by Infinity Master Wednesday, March 04, 2009 @ 03:03:32 AM It is almost the same stuff as in Infinite Undiscovery, and I hated it. |
![]() | Comment #79 by TwiceAzzNice Monday, April 27, 2009 @ 07:43:36 AM Can'i wait to get my hands on this, just wish the achievements was more easy to get lol |
