In a similar vein to yesterday’s Top 5, today we focus on the villains whose characters are worthy of a mention although their demise and final fight was not all that. It seems to be a cliché these days that all the great bad guys go out with a puff rather than a bang and this year is no different.

Grunty is a Banjo-Kazooie veteran and she’s been around as long as the two main protagonists have. Wherever there is Banjo-Kazooie, Grunty won’t be far behind; and Nuts and Bolts is no different.

Saints Row 2’s all star cast played a huge factor in the title’s great storyline gripping fans worldwide; whether you’re talking about Daniel Dae Kim, Elisha Dushku or Neil Patrick Harris, they all played their parts impressively, but it’s safe to say that as far as the villains go, no one else could handle a candle to Worf ... I mean Michael Dorn, AKA Maero. Maero seriously makes General RAAM look like a push over.

This man mountain was well over the 6ft mark, a walking tattoo canvas and his piercings meant he had more holes in his body than a pin cushion; everything about him screamed aggression ... or steroids - I suppose that would explain his anger actually. His gravely tones, forceful threats and his ability to make people listen makes Maero an unforgettable villain ... Did we tell you he also had a monster truck? Talk about testosterone overdose!

Skorge without a shadow of a doubt is one of the biggest, baddest, and coolest villains of the year. The predator- locust hybrid is on a total tangent to the original Gears of War super boss, General RAAM. Whereas General RAAM was built like a brick-shithouse and relied on power, Skorge relies on his speed and agility.
