Another month, another member of the month. After the hectic birthday period we're back on schedule and the site is in awesome spirits after pulling together for the NBA Event. Now this month's member was kind enough to offer his services to host a room for said event and has taken upon the task in the forums to help relieve some of the server costs by initiating a subscription program which helps the site grow even more. So I present for you, the ever cheerful, David Creech, congratulations and enjoy everyone. |
Lets start by finding out a bit more about the man behind the GamerTag. 37 years old, PC gamer from way back (I also did practically every other game growing up, my family was big on that, especially card games, board games, AD&D, and I spent months of my life – maybe years – dedicated to Stephen Jackson games like Car Wars). Married twice, divorced twice, one child from the first one, I adopted a child in the second one. I like kids and want to have more. I live north of Seattle, grew up primarily in the San Diego area, including a 7 year stint on a farm with no electricity or running water. I ran for Congress once back in the early 90's as well. |
What is your gaming setup like? I have two 360s, so one is on a 55” Sony Wega LCD HDTV with Dolby surround sound. The other one is in the bedroom upstairs on a 32” SDTV.
What is your favorite game on the 360? Right now my favorite game is Rainbow 6: Vegas. I really enjoyed the campaign and playing with a group of friends who all have avatars with their own faces makes it a great experience. I play it a lot with my son and SundaySpeedtrap. Plus my neighbor just bought a 360 after a year of me bugging him, and he is hooked on Vegas as well.
And the game that makes you scream? PGR3…I really enjoy it more than any other racing game I have played on the 360, but the style events just kill me on gold and platinum. Some of them I can do on gold, but I think I have two – as in, less than three – platinum medals for style events.
What achievement are you most proud of? Supreme Snow God in Amped 3. That was the first game I got the full 1000 in, and I spent literally WEEKS playing those painful kitty pick up events.
Which achievement is the next on the hit list for you? I am working on World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions, which is going to take a while. I rented Sonic for my girlfriend and after watching her play a couple of times I still have not decided if I want to attempt it, but the possibility is there.
What was the last thing you downloaded from the Arcade? I am boycotting the arcade at the moment since they are releasing crappy retro games, but my girlfriend downloaded Paperboy so I played some of that. The last game I paid for was Galaga.
Do you get games mainly for achievements, or for gameplay? I typically rent games to see if I like them, and then if I find them replayable I will buy them. If I rent a game I will usually try to finish it up even if I don’t like it a whole lot, but I play to have fun. It is fun to see my gamer score go up, and I have a guy on my friend’s list who is pretty competitive against my score, but it doesn’t really bother me if he is higher or lower. I enjoy hearing him get agitated at times though. All in good fun, of course.
Is the 360 your only console currently? Do you have plans for any more? We own two 360’s, and those are our only consoles. I have thought about buying a third console for when my son visits, but that won’t be until they come out with the upgraded 360’s at this point. I have no plans of buying a Wii or a PS3, although my girlfriend may get a Wii since she is a huge fan of retro Nintendo games.
Whats the next game that you will be getting? My next rental will likely be Crackdown, although that depends on Gameznflix. The next one I buy will be the next one that I rent that meets my “minimum buying requirements.” LOL! Generally, replayable single player, solid multi-player, PLUS it has to be one that my gaming buddies will also play. Crackdown seems to fit into that, as does Burnout: Revenge.
And final comments….
Thanks to all involved of course, I definitely appreciate the recognition. I really enjoy the entire x360a community and the mutual assistance in games is just an added bonus. For those who are able but have not yet done so, think about signing up for a monthly contribution towards the cost of the site. Look at this post to take the related survey and sign up.
