Member of the Month - Nov, 2007: Maka

Welcome to the month of November. The cold has kicked in, the nights are shorter and the weather sucks. Which makes it the perfect time of year to spend all night playing on the 360 while we wait aimlessly for Christmas to come round the corner. It won't be too long before December comes knocking, but for now one member can stay warm cheering themself on the knowledge they are Member of the Month. This person has been on the site so long I thought they had already had the honour. Let me introduce....

Lets start by finding out a bit more about the man behind the GamerTag.

Hey, My name’s Patrcik, and Im a sixteen year old high school student in Mississauga, Ontario, just outside of Toronto. I’ve been gaming since I can remember, back in the days of the Sega Genesis.

Nowadays, in my spare time I play video games, play soccer (not football) or ski depending on the season. I also enjoy listening to music and building my iTunes collection.

Im a pretty simple person, and Im at a lack of words about myself already, so lets get on with those questions!

What is your gaming setup like?

My gaming set-up is really nothing special, but it keeps me happy. I have a Samsung 32”
LCD TV, and I run it on 720p. I’ve been wanting surround sound, but the shape of my room makes it difficult. Other than that, everything is pretty average. I have a satellite to keep me busy during the boring times.

What is your favorite game on the 360?

Halo 3. Period.

I don’t know what it is, but something just keeps me coming back for more. Since, it’s launch, Ive racked up almost 750 games, to land me to the Brigadier rank online. Theoretically speaking, its not the best game of all time, but its the game I have the most fun with, and play the most. Since the days of Halo 2, Ive been addicted to Halo universe. Although the melee system is flawed at times, and it can be frustrating, the game is amazingly fun, although Im sure others will disagree. They can play other games…

And the game that makes you scream?

The least favourite game that I’ve purchased for my 360 has to be BioShock. *Distant
Fanboy Screams* At first I had no clue what it was, until about a week before its launch. My friends, here and at school were hyping the game to be the next best thing. I gradually became more excited for the game the closer it was to being released. Until the day had come. I went, with a friend, to the Local game store, bright and early, just to get the game. I brought it home, and man was I disappointed. At first it was awesome, but then slowly it became boring and I just didn’t have fun. Ive played it for maybe 4 hours total, and plan to pick it up sometime soon for achievements, but lately its been floating from friends house to friends house, because Im not going to play it with the recent releases.

What achievement are you most proud of?

The achievement(s) that I am most proud of have to be the ones I have in Burnout or Forza 2. I have 1000 in the both of them, and I had to be one of the happiest individuals on the planet when I beat them. Burnout Signature takedowns and Forza online money were kind of a pain in the… thumbs… I am also proud of the 7500+ gamerscore I have amassed in racing games alone, to land me a spot in the top amongst the racing leaderboard on MGC.

Which achievement is the next on the hit list for you?

The next achievement Im trying to nail is Hard Mode on GHIII. Im stuck on a couple of songs in the final tiers of the game, but hopefully, I’ll be done them shortly. Cant forget CoD4, its coming soon, and I cant wait to get my hands on it.

What was the last thing you downloaded from the Arcade?

I actually have a hard time recalling the last thing I bought on the marketplace period. Since Halo, I haven’t seen a need for anything else really. Looking back on my gamercard, it seems that it was Dig Dug, when they dropped the price to 200 Points, and Spyglass Board Games when that came out, both which I regret a little bit.

Do you get games mainly for achievements, or for gameplay?

I play games a little differently then the regular person. I buy games which I think I will like. I play those games for fun, and achievements are a bonus. Once I become slightly bored with the game, and have the thought of trading it in, I play strictly for points. Then there are those games, the ones that I rent, for points. The games that you don’t want to be seen walking out of a store with, Open Season, Surf’s Up. These games, I play for gamerscore, and for a new experience.

Is the 360 your only console currently? Do you have plans for any more?

As for the future, I don’t see a point. My 360 seems to have enough of everything to keep me happy, but I might need something portable to keep my gaming on those long drives.

Whats the next game that you will be getting?

One of the easiest questions I’ve had to answer in the interview. CoD4 will be the next game Im going to purchase, if I don’t already have it before this gets put up. Other than that, I don’t think I will be getting any new games for a long time. I had such a fun time in the Beta, that it would be stupid not to buy the game, I look forward to playing some of the members of the site.
And final comments….

I just want to thank everyone who helps with the site, for making an awesome 360 community.

I look forward to playing with some of you readers sometime soon, all it takes is an invite, and I'm usually free, so get sending.
